For Sale Giving away a new ReTerminal Sticky to someone - accidentally got two

Admins, please delete if not allowed!

I accidentally got two of these, and they're so low-cost I decided to give one away through my site here. Posting here because I know people have questions about it and want to try it.

An important note: This is done through an email newsletter giveaway. I want to be clear about that because I love this community and engaging with it, and I don't ever want to post or share something that smells fishy, email is just how I communicate with my community. Please don't feel pressured to do so, I just thought this is one place people might be interested in getting a Sticky :-)

Accessories My favourite way of night reading šŸ›‹ļø

I recently bought this little lamp for night reading and it’s been a game changer when it comes to reading at night. It’s so much easier on the eyes and allows me to set the brightness on my Kindle at low level. It’s super flexible, has three different warmths and brightness is adjustable. I love it.

Discussion A great purse ā€œkindleā€ app option

Just throwing this option out there for anyone wanting full access on the go to their entire kindle library or a true fully portable option…

Loving my Viwoods Aipaper Reader, which is the same size as my iPhone 17 pro max. It’s an android based device so you can use any reader app (koreader, etc) in the google play store. But you can use the kindle app as well. Love the quality. It’s so lightweight and fits even in a small clutch purse or any pocket.

Hello fellow e-readers! I am selling my hardly used Palma 2 (with case). I currently use my iPad mini to read books (and a kinda dusty Kindle). Hoping to recoup costs from the Palma 2.

Ideally pay through PayPal. Shipping costs included and can provide tracking information. Prefer shipping in the USA but can be open to other countries (I just need to research on how to do that more concretely).

Attached are some pictures but can provide more pictures upon request.

Happy Thursday!

Discussion KOBO EREADER šŸ«¶šŸ»āœØ

Hi!

Meron kasi ako nakita old version or second hand kaso asa 4K+ and di afford ng extra money ko. Baka may suggestions kayo saan makakabili sa Philippines ng second hand na pasok sa 3K. Thank you so much!

Buying Advice New to E-reader & unsure of which to be my first purchase. Kindle aluminum or Kobo Libra?

I love picking up a book in my hands and taking it with me from time to time, or buying them from either Half Price Books or Barnes & Noble, or ThriftBooks online. The thing is when I travel and can only carry so much with me, it can be overwhelming choosing which book to bring with me. Even though yes I have my phone or iPad, having my Libby app to choose the book, I find myself reading then a couple of minutes in I’m getting sidetracked by another app. Maybe that’s more of a me problem than my devices but I would love to invest on an E-reader because I feel ready to expand my reading experience and make traveling easier without having to rely on my physical books or phone.

I’ve looked more into the Kobo libra and I like that it gives you an option for the pen in case you want to make notes as you read, plus the waterproof is also nice to have especially if I would go camping and it’s raining or want to be on a porch seeing the rain fall I don’t have to worry too much about liquid damage. The storage is also a big part of making my decision and it seems both Kindle and Kobo offer 32gb which is nice to have. Most of the people who I know have Kindles and have all had good experiences with it, I just don’t want to have to pay for a subscription just to read books you know.

It would be helpful to know y’all’s experiences and thoughts especially when it comes to the storage. From 16gb to 32gb is a big difference when I want to read about 5 books every two weeks? Of course, when I download them to read offline and once I’m done then erase them I’d free up space again. Maybe having 16gb isn’t too bad either, I just want to be sure because I want to keep the device for a really long time and care for durability and reliability.

I hope y’all can help me with this predicament I have. 😊

Discussion ¿Cómo es su ecosistema de lectura?

Post image

Buying Advice Is the Xteink worth getting if I already own a Kindle Paperwhite?

Hey everyone!

I've had a Kindle Paperwhite for about 2 years now and absolutely love it. However, I've been seeing a lot of ads for the Xteink lately, and I'm starting to wonder if I should get one too.

The biggest selling point for me is definitely itsĀ size and portability.

I rarely bring my Kindle with me when I'm out and about, simply because it doesn't fit in my everyday bag. I usually carry a small crossbody that barely fits my phone, keys, and wallet, so my Kindle mostly gets used at home or at the beach when I'm on vacation.

The Xteink, on the other hand, looks small enough to carry everywhere. I love the idea of pulling it out on the bus or whenever I have a few minutes to spare and getting some reading done instead of doom scrolling on my phone. I am looking at the x4 pro model, as it has the backlight option, which I love on my Kindle as well

My biggest concern is switching between the two devices.Ā If I'm reading a book on my Kindle at home and want to continue on the Xteink while commuting, there's no way to sync my reading progress between them, right? How do you guys deal with that?

As for getting books onto the device, that's not really an issue for me. I already sideload most of my books onto my Kindle anyway. I live outside the US and EU, so I usually just find an EPUB file and use Send to Kindle or email it directly to my device. I don't use any library apps like Libby, Kindle Unlimited, or the Kindle Store, so I'm not too concerned about losing access to those features.

So, for those of you who own both a Kindle and an Xteink,Ā do you actually find yourselves using both?Ā Or does one end up collecting dust?

Would love to hear your experiences and whether you think it's worth getting one as a second portable e-reader!

Buying Advice Hello, Readers! [Share/Cloud] [Library Books]

My Question is...

Is there an e-reader that supports Share/CloudLibrary? Is there a way to get Share/Cloud library books on an ereader? Kobo is preferred but not necessary. I am looking to get a different e-reader.

Discussion Obook 5 vs. Xteink X4 Pro Darkmode.

Can anyone that has either of these devices show me what they look like in darkmode? I’m debating between these two and I think it will come down to which has a better quality darkmode.

Also for those that have both can you tell me which one you prefer? I like the look of the Obook 5 and the fact it has a usb-c charging port. However the X4 Pro is the only one that I can find a protective case for. Thanks :)

Buying Advice Boox Air note 6C vs Colorsoft Scribe (or alternatives)

I've been looking for a larger screen (10-11 inch) color reader for reading regular books, comics, manga, magazines... basically anything. I'd really like to cut down my regular screen time. I'll likely use Libby a lot, perhaps Hoopla and other apps if possible.

It seems the Air 6C and Colorsoft Scribe fit my needs the most, even though I really don't even need the note taking abilities at all. How is everyone's experience with these? The Air 6C seems appealing for the open ecosystem, but the Scribe is also appealing for the straightforward nature and brand reputation.

Does either really excel for reading purposes, or is there another I should be looking at?

Buying Advice E-reader recommendation

Hi! I’m going to be a bit fussy but wondering if there’s a device I haven’t considered please.

I currently read on my iPhone via kindle app, I love the brightness/sharp lit screen, and the clear ā€˜page turning’. Don’t much care for how the app is organised, but I have a lot of kindle books, and a small amount in Apple Books which I’m reasonably indifferent to. Every now and then I buy a month of kindle unlimited too.

I’d really like an e-reader for ā€˜focused’ reading. I really dislike warm dim screens, and the ā€˜flash’ refresh the e ink displays do. Which I appreciate must be all the screens.

I love the size of the kindle basic 6ā€, so debated that - with the page turning option on, I was wondering how much closer it sits to how the kindle app functions (I understand it wont be the same!). I would prefer colour for book covers etc, so was also considering the kobo clara colour as it’s also very pretty, but I’m guessing as I’m quite immersed in kindle it’s basically pointless?

Are there any other suggestions please?

User Review A love letter for Koreader

Thumbnail

I tried so many times to get into KOReader because, on paper, I should have absolutely loved it. I love modding my devices, personalizing them, and having all the good features I like.

But... tbh, I was superficial. I let the rather bad looks deceive me. I judged a book by its cover. Literally. I never fell in love. Until now.

I love how the community has made it so satisfying to mod, with all the plugins and patches. Huge thanks to the developers and everyone contributing to the project, because it was already amazing before but now is amazing FOR ME.

I finally got rid of the extra-complicated menu that I honestly don't want on my way all the time while reading, and can edit my fonts from a single menu page. I'm spoiled, I know lol. There's X-Ray! And you can customize your library! And you can sync all your e-readers, including my Kindle Oasis, my Kobo Clara color and even the X4 with Crosspoint. I know you could do that before, but the UI was too ugly for me. I'm sorry. šŸ˜” Apparently, I'm a terrible person and a UI snob.

Now I feel like I have the beautiful look and library organization of Kobo Nickel, plus most of Kindle's most interesting features, and underneath it all, the awesome power machine that is KOReader.

So yeah, apparently all KOReader needed was for it to stop being ugly and for me to give it a(nother) chance. Better late than never, I guess.

Really thank you to everyone that put their time on this amazing project from the beginning, and to everyone that finally made it enjoyable for me.

Buying Advice Help me with an e-reader

• Upvotes

Hi hi,

Looking to get some kind of e-reader as I don’t have anymore space for books currently.

I am using my phone to read books and manga aswell so was wondering what would be the best 7ā€ device for both.

I’m not fussed if it’s android or kindle but if you have any ideas of the best way to get the mangas and books if there on android and on kindle?

Any help is appreciated!!

Thank you
