“Akane.”
The name was barely audible inside the council chambers alone, yet it was more than neccesary to summon the bearer of that name. In a mere flash, a figure appeared kneeling on one knee, her head bowed, her hair swaying along with the curtains through which she had entered. On her face was the signature animal mask, a feline one, of the Konoha Anbu special forces. The flaming leaf logo of their village was clearly visible on her exposed shoulder, as well as some battle scars from the recently concluded Shinobi World War.
Inside, the council chamber was quite empty, with many unfilled seats, for the council session had just ended. Ever since the end of the war and the death of the last Hokage, no new one had been chosen so far, yet it had not impeded any day-to-day governance of the village. Squads still went out on missions and life went on as usual, for the most part. The only one remaining inside the council room was the old Shadow of Shinobi himself, Danzo, relaxed on the sofa with his walking cane resting against his thigh.
“There you are. Swift as usual,” said Danzo in his usual gravely voice, looking down on the kneeling Akane with his one good eye.
“Yes, Sir,” responded Akane, first looking up at Danzo and then standing up upon seeing the nod from him. The woman was of quite the average height for a woman, but with a strong build for a kunoichi. Lean physique, strong shoulders, and fists that hadn’t healed yet. It was clear the woman had only recently returned from an active assignment. But for Anbu, there rarely were days off or time to properly heal and recover, especially since the end of the war, when the position of the village had to be reinforced, and actively so.
“I have a task for you. Nine-Tails has been sighted in the Land of Fire,” revealed Danzo as if it was the most mundane thing.
As for Akane, her eyes widened under her mask as her whole body tensed up, no matter how much she tried to hide it and appear profesional, especially in front of a man like Danzo. Not being able to contain her shock and curiosity, she spoke up: “The Nine-Tails? Sir, let me assemble a squad of…”
“No squads. The Nine-Tails has been sealed into a Jinchūriki once more, it seems. No matter, it suits our purposes better this way. Capturing a released tailed beast is far more difficult anyway. I need not remind you that since the last war, Konoha has been without a Jinchūriki of our own, making us pathetically weak and vulnerable compared to the other villages. Getting back the Nine-Tails will put us once more at the top and stop the other villages from taking any foolish actions. That should make it clear to you how important this mission is and why you will be going on it alone, Akane.”
“Yes, Sir…but a Jinchūriki - why me? Is it because of…” responded Akane, inquiring whether it was because of the special ability that she was chosen, or just because of her skill as a Jonin. It was no secret that she was highly capable, but when it came to subdoing dangerous creatures, she wasn’t usually the first choice.
“Yes, Akane, it’s because of that jutsu of yours,” said Danzo, after which the two exchanged a long, knowing look that spoke more than a hundred words could. The wooden walking stick touching the ground with a thud interrupted the knowing silence the two shared as Danzo got up from his seated position. “But it is up to you on how or if to use it. Your task is to convince the Jinchūriki to come to the village and guard them, for surely we are not the only ones who have learned it by now. But if all other options fail and your back is against the wall…”
Without finishing his sentence, Danzo started walking towards the exit behind Akane and just as he was about to pass the woman, he stopped just enough to finish his thought.
“…kill them. A dead Jinchūriki is better than one in the hands of our enemies.”
Swallowing the dark prospect, Akane once again dropped to one knee while facing Danzo as he walked out, in respect to his position and the task he had entrusted her with. Without a shadow of a doubt, the most important mission of her career. And the most dangerous. The power of a tailed beast was nothing Akane had ever dealt with, but she knew enough to be wary and cautious. Thankfully, it would be a human she would be dealing with, which eased her task somewhat. A human could be communicated with, convinced, and befriended. Or so she hoped. But as with all Anbu, she was always expected to put her village’s interests before her own. If the Jinchūriki proved uncooperative or dangerous, she would have to kill them. Until now, she had only killed enemies, targets that would have killed her if given the chance, but this was different. This person most likely meant no ill will towards her, yet their blood would still be on her hands. All these thoughts still plagued Akane while Danzo himself was long gone, no doubt leaving to solve another problem the village was plagued with. In her eyes, everyone would be doomed without him, and she owed it to him to do her best and complete this mission assigned to her.
“I will not fail…”

“Water Style: Wild Water Wave.”
Finishing the hand sign with a Hare, Akane, crouched atop a tree branch, proceeded to spew a torrent of highly concentrated water at the Iwagakure ninja who had been foolish enough to try to ambush her. His screams were soon silenced as she was pushed violently against a rock, knocking him out cold. Ending her jutsu after she saw her target unconscious, Akane sighed. She hadn’t expected to fight anyone before even finding the Jinchūriki. But she was in desperate need of a stretch, and this fool was a great exercise.
Jumping down from the branch next to him, Akane, in one swift motion, unsheathed a blade from her back and stabbed it downwards into the man’s back, right in the heart, ending his suffering instantly. As the last grunt left his lips and his uniform grew a large red spot, the kunoichi noticed something strange in the man’s hand. A scroll.
“A spy, huh…” Akane breathed out. It was common for spies to infiltrate a country and send back reports of what they had found, defenses or anything else. This seemed just like it, and Akane was curious to see what they had found out before she would obviously destroy the scroll.
Opening the scroll, Akane’s eyes grew wide as she beheld not a report from a spy, but a scroll with a seal. A seal that said ‘Human’. This was beyond strange. Why would an Iwagakure shinobi be capturing random humans in the Fire Country? This breached numerous points agreed to in the last peace treaty, and if anyone learned of it, no doubt some kind of conflict would resume. But it was not up to Akane to decide that. She would write up a full report for her superior, Danzo, later. She trusted he would make the right decision whether to keep it covered up or reveal it.
“As for this human…hmm…”
Not wanting to just leave an innocent nobody sealed inside a scroll for who knows how long, Akane put the scroll down on the ground and unfurled it wide open. Standing over it, she would form the Rat sign while focusing her chakra towards the scroll.
“Release!”
With that exclamation and a puff of smoke, the seal on the scroll was undone and in its place… a human, just as expected. And not a ninja of any discernible origin. No headband, no uniform…absolutely unassuming. This confused Akane even more as she crossed her arms while watching the lost lamb try to figure out where they were. Tilting her head, Akane watched them curiously before speaking up.
“And who might you be?”

Thank you for hopefully reading and enjoying my Naruto-universe story. I will put this at the very start so that there are no misunderstandings. This is meant to be a totally non-canon story, or AU, as they say. The rules, techniques, and culture is mostly unchanged, but the characters, the politics, and anything else we wish can and will be changed. I am not interested in playing Canon characters; I will say that now. I am open to playing canon-character looks myself, but totally different characteristics, backstories, and skills. As for you, I would prefer a totally original OC haha. Who they are and how they look is totally up to you. I have some ideas, some that might work, some that might not, but we can discuss those later. I would first love to hear what you have in mind yourself about this whole idea, the story, and the AU way of this RP. I know it might not be for everyone, but what attracts me the most is the freedom that it brings us to play whatever we wish as long as we discuss and agree to it first <3. That being said, don’t be afraid to bring forward whatever your heart desires. Even if I’m not into it, I will respect the effort to put it forward and never shame you. That’s for damn sure.
Just to give some ideas of how we could continue this (just be sure that these are just ideas. You can agree and build up on it, or you can propose something else), one path could be that your character is extremely inexperienced in the ninja arts. Naturally, from the plot you could discern that your character would be a Jinchūriki, a human with a tailed beast sealed inside of them, but even that could be changed and amended. They can be a normal human, if you wish it so. But to build up on my previous idea, I do kind of like the idea of Akane being a sort of mentor to your character, teaching them how to use chakra, how to do anything from basic stuff like walking on trees to something more advanced, like performing Ninjutsu, and forming a bond in the process. In short, this is a playground for Naruto fans to play out whatever fantasies we wish, but seeing as I am in more of a low-key mood, I wouldn’t want some world-ending plot or story. A life-and-death story of the shinobi world is enough for me, however complicated we wish to make it.
But yes, yes, I know what kind of place I’ve posted this in. This would be an adult story, that’s for sure, in more ways than one. Death is common in the life of a shinobi, sometimes a quick and painless one, sometimes a slow and agonizing one. I don’t shy away from any of it. I hold sex in the same category. Something that’s common in the adult world, and something that no one should shy away from when the time comes for it. I am not one to rush into any such scenes, however. A proper buildup, a slow burn, if you will, is more my jam. Plenty of cute and wholesome moments, plenty of ‘omg this Kunoichi is so fucking amazing’ kind of obsession and growing love. Sex has to mean something, but when it comes… sheesh, am I a fiery one. I’m sure I will burnt off those dumb eyebrows of yours with my smut-writing-ability once we get there, but again - we’ll get there when we get there. Let me nerd about Naruto first and have some wholesome, depressing, cute, and epic scenes first, nay?
I could go on and on with my random yapping, I think, but that is also another thing I love in my partners. The ability to yap and yap away, and also nerd out about the setting, the plot, any ideas, or just the world lore in general. So if you’re similar to me, do write to me and tell me all your thoughts about Akane, about your character, about the setting, what you’d change and what you’d keep, about my ideas and about your ideas. I’ll read it all. And if the plot didn’t click with you, but you still want to do something Naruto-ish with OCs? I’m open to that too, if you think it’s cool and that it might vibe with me haha. In short, yes, do write, and I’ll end this here. Bye-bye.
