General Yesterday marked my last day. I'm already feeling suicid*l.

Yesterday was my LWD after getting laid off from a startup. I worked as a Frontend developer for 2 years there .

I don't know what to do ? The gap in my career is killing makes me feel like a failure.

I feel like a failure. Got into 5 interviews in between 2 telephonic and 3 interviews.

Bombed 2 of them.

It's hard to sit at home in your mid 20's

If you're from Mumbai or hiring anywhere and hiring for a Frontend dev with 2.2 years of exp.

The salary expectation of mine is 6 LPA

Thank you

General Choosing between Amazon UK SDE 2 vs Fintech in Bangalore SDE 3

I have 9 years of experience and after spending years in service based companies I now have 2 offers with me.

Amazon Cambridge, UK

Role offered : SDE 2
Base : 88k £
Signon Year 1 : 35k £, Year 1 Gross 123k
Signon Year 2 : 27.5k £, Year 2 Gross 115k

and then the RSU vesting each year for 4 years
5, 15, 45 and 35%

Fintech company Bangalore:

They are offering SDE 3
40LPA base + 10% variable - no stocks

I’m in early 30s now, married and no kid yet.

I’m leaning towards Amazon but i’m really skeptical if i’ll be able to manage in UK with what is being offered.

I’ll be moving with my wife who is in Marketing and will have to look for jobs there.
I’m afraid that at Amazon, year 3 onwards my salary plummets drastically as base is 88k £

I’m in service based company right now and current salary is like extremely low, worked super hard to get these 2 offers

I Made This I built ClearPDF — 12K installs, 300+ GitHub stars, #2 on Kotlin Trending

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hey everyone! I'm a CSE student at VIT Vellore, and I've been building ClearPDF, an open-source Android document app.

What started as a project of mine has grown more than I expected. ClearPDF crossed 12,000 installs in a week, reached 300+ GitHub stars, and today it ranked #2 on GitHub Trending in Kotlin.

The main thing I wanted to get right was the experience. Most document apps focus on functionality, but I wanted to build something that looks modern too. ClearPDF has a Liquid Glass-inspired UI on Android, with a focus on smooth performance and a clean UX.

Another big priority was making it 100% offline, so you can work with your documents without needing an internet connection.

It supports PDFs, Word documents, spreadsheets, and images, with features like PDF editing and annotation, document scanning, Word document viewing, and XLSX spreadsheet editing.

I've also spent a lot of time fixing reported issues and improving performance across releases.

The project is MIT-licensed, and I'd love to see more developers get involved.

GitHub: https://github.com/Chethan616/ClearPDF

Latest release: https://github.com/Chethan616/ClearPDF/releases/latest

If you're interested in Android development, open source, or building polished apps, feel free to check it out. Contributions are welcome!

Thanks for all the support so far!

Interviews Company covering flights and hotel for an interview, irrespective of outcome!

A company is inviting me to its Noida office for an in-person interview, with all rounds conducted there. I'm currently based in Bangalore, and they will reimburse my travel expenses regardless of the interview outcome and provide accommodation for one night. They are inviting few people from all across India and will be taking 6 rounds of selection process.

Has anyone experienced a similar interview process with any company? I know some companies invite candidates for the final few rounds in person and reimburse travel expenses, but I've never heard of a company bringing candidates in for all interview rounds while covering their travel and accommodation.

Help Help me evaluate my offer Google L4 | Currently at FAANG+

Hi all,

I am working at a FAANG+ company with total 3.5 YOE with a 50 LPA CTC. I have received an offer for Google L4 with the following comp -

- base: 39-42 LPA + 3 LPA PF
- bonus: 15% of base
- stocks: $60k USD vested over 4 years (38, 32, 20, 10)

Total first year comp: approx 71 LPA first year

Now here's the tradeoff - my current role is fully remote giving me a lot of flexibility. I feel 71 LPA is a bit of lowball.

  1. thoughts on the offer?
  2. what can I do to negotiate it to 90-95 ?
  3. is there a possibility of applying to google europe openings?

Help Please help me escape the 90 days Notice Period Trap

• Upvotes

I recently started giving interviews and luckily I cleared one with a good amount of hike around 70-80%.

The problem is that I have a 90 days of Notice Period in my current organisation.

One where I got the confirmation that I have made it to the final salary discussion round says that I need to join the company within 30 days.

Some more details -

  • I have total 5 yoe and current CTC is 9 LPA.
  • I am being offered 15 LPA (fixed) and a 5% yearly bonus above the CTC
  • My current org and the newer one both are Product Based MNCs.
    • The new org is not fully into IT but kind of a GCC.

In the current market scenario, I dont want to lose on this opportunity to get the decent hike that I am getting.

I have not spoken to my current employeer yet but what are some of the ways I can reduce the 90 days NP to 45 days if not exact 30?

PS - I can see that the buyout option is available but it is based on a approval. Whose approval I am not sure as it is not written explicitly, but I am assuming it will be my direct manager's approval.

General What's one thing about working in IT that you didn't expect when you started?

When I started working in IT, I thought most of the job would be coding, solving technical problems and learning new tools.

Didn't expect this much time to go into meetings, understanding unclear requirements, explaining things to people and debugging code I didn't write

For people who've been in IT for a while, what's something about the job that genuinely surprised you once you started working?

Interviews Mid-20s, at the lowest point of my life, and getting zero interviews. For those who made it out—is the grind actually worth it in the end?

• Upvotes

I’m in my mid-20s and honestly at the lowest point of my life.
A while back, I worked at TCS for a year, decided to resign, and went on to complete my MCA to upskill and aim for better software roles. Since graduating, I’ve been grinding nonstop—building projects, sharpening my stack, and applying everywhere.
In return? Complete silence. I’m not even getting interview calls.
It’s soul-crushing to put in the work every single day with zero feedback while watching everyone else my age move forward. Right now, I’m seriously questioning my past decisions and wondering if I ruined my career trajectory.
For those who were stuck in this exact trench in their mid-20s and finally made it out: did things actually turn around for you? Looking back, was all this misery and grinding worth it in the end? I just need to know there’s light at the end of this tunnel.

Interviews Very wierd interview experience with a famous American Mnc

My resume is based on aiml, GenAi and python backend. But according to the interviewer anyone with AI access can build aiml projects and solutions. And hence rejected going through the resume. How true is this? Should I pivot back to generic full stack development or other stack?

Work-Life Balance What actually do we all define as the toxic WLB, in trade of CTC?

I have observed the broad variations of poor wlb, but the perks and CTC getting offered in that trade.

So what is something very toxic about your wlb and do you think it's acceptable because of your CTC?

Like low paying start-ups have the worst wlb, but that same can happen in big PBCs too if the team and manager is bad, but at least they are earning well.

So what's something which is acceptable and not acceptable if we trade off our wlb with a good ctc?

Like working on Saturdays, rejecting leaves and wfh, strict 9-5 wfo, pip, etc.

Also, what is something we all should ask beforehand so that we must know what are the negatives we're gonna face after joining.

General For Those Getting Recruiter Calls in 2026: Which Platforms and Strategies Are Actually Working for You?

Hey everyone!

I'm curious to know how people are actually getting recruiter calls and interview opportunities in 2026.

For those who are actively getting calls, what platforms, strategies, or methods are working for you?

A few things I'd love to know:

  • Job portals: Naukri, LinkedIn, Wellfound, Instahyre, Cutshort, or something else?
  • LinkedIn: Are you applying directly, messaging recruiters, reaching out to hiring managers, or getting referrals?
  • Referrals: How are you approaching people for referrals, especially when you don't know them personally?
  • Resume: Are you tailoring your resume for every application, using specific keywords, or following any particular strategy?
  • Cold outreach: Have emails or LinkedIn DMs actually helped you land interviews?
  • Application strategy: Are you applying to newly posted jobs, mass-applying, or targeting specific companies?

I'd especially appreciate hearing from people who have recently switched jobs or landed interviews at product-based companies or good startups.

Please share what's actually working for you, along with any specific tips, numbers, or strategies. Even small details could help others who are struggling to get interview calls despite applying consistently.

Thanks!

Career Please Need a career guidance I m stuck in the loop

I need some career guidance, so I thought it would be better to ask people who already have work experience.

As you know, AI is playing a huge role in the job market, especially in the software industry. I’ve been searching for a job for almost eight months now. Sometimes I get interview opportunities and even reach the final round, but I end up losing those opportunities. Honestly, I’m feeling stuck, exhausted, and demotivated.

I graduated in 2026, and most of my friends have already started working, while some are pursuing their master’s. Seeing them move forward while I’m still struggling makes me feel like I’m falling behind. I don’t know what to do next. Should I take a break, prepare for government exams, or take up any job I can get? There are jobs like customer service and call centre roles, but sometimes I feel bad about taking one because I’ve always performed well academically, and I never expected to end up in this situation.

I’m also thinking of giving myself the rest of this year to figure things out and possibly pursuing a master’s next year. But Again I m worried gap will be there what will happen and going abroad isn’t an easy option either. I’ve seen many people spend ₹30–40 lakhs on their education and still struggle to find jobs.

I’m genuinely confused about which direction to take. I’d really appreciate your honest advice on what you think I should do in this situation.

I understand that he might think that his competitor is doing that even if i was doing it and then why he did same thing after if he thinks thats so wrong to do ? I am still shocked the audacity this guy have

Career Is there a realistic future for me in tech after a 7-year career break? Looking for honest advice.

• Upvotes

I quit as an entry level role where I was for 5 years as a front end developer. I took a break of 7 years while I continued freelancing work with upwork.

I was able to do two long term projects out of which one is nothing significant.

The current freelancing project[3 years] pays me 11 dollars per hour. I work 4 hours a day and It is a full stack end to end Legal tech Saas project with AI integration. Even though I was the only developer, I know whatever I did but I did most of it newly like AWS, Stripe so not so confident.

My clients are lawyers from the US and they never follow up with any task, I take responsibility, stay fair and work my best. They don't even talk about launching this and said they are comfortable paying this to me every month.

Now my daughter is 6, I want to see how to get into full time role. I am beyond depressed and anxious that I am not able to even try with full motivation looking at the situation and I am constantly just reading layoff stories and/or how hard is IT right now, everyday. I do like DSA, system design but I am not passionate. I don't network with people.

It feels like my career is over.
I am too scared to even try. I recently recovered from neck issues too.

What hope do I have here in tech, for REAL ?

Tips Around 2 YOE Full Stack Developer at 3.2 LPA CTC. Is asking for 6.5 to 8 LPA in an internal appraisal reasonable?

~2 YOE Full Stack Developer in Gurugram, currently at 3.2 LPA CTC and 22.9k in hand. HR verbally mentioned a CTC revision after six months of probation, which I have now completed. My target is 45k to 50k in hand, and I am planning to open the internal appraisal discussion at 8 LPA, aiming to negotiate around 6 to 6.5 LPA. Is this a reasonable expectation for my experience and tech stack, or is it too much to expect from an internal appraisal?

My tech stack includes React.js, ASP.NET Core, C#, SQL Server, REST APIs, JWT and OTP authentication, Entity Framework Core, Node.js and JavaScript.

When I joined, HR verbally mentioned that my CTC would be revised after six months of probation. This was not included in my offer letter, but I have now completed probation and am preparing for the appraisal discussion.
I have had a positive experience with my team and would prefer to continue growing here, provided the compensation reflects my responsibilities and experience.

My target is ₹45,000–₹50,000 per month in hand, which would likely require a CTC of around 6.5–8 LPA, depending on the salary structure. I plan to open the discussion at 8 LPA and aim to negotiate for at least 6–6.5 LPA.

Help Dear TCS, Please don't make me cry. It's enough now. I have been waiting for 4 months now

Hello all,

I have an offer of 7.1 LPA, but I am unemployed, now waiting more than 3 months, and it's making me depressed every single passing day. So I got an offer from TCS, and to join TCS, I resigned from my previous organisation and completed the notice period. But TCS is still not sending a joining letter. Whenever I try to contact them, they only respond that, based on business requirements, you will get a joining.

I am thinking of finding some remote work until I get the job or freelancing. If pay is less, it's fine; I just want to do some work, so guys, if you have any work for me, please let me know

Technical background:

- Backend: Python, FastAPI, .NET Core

- AI: Agentic chatbots (LangChain, OpenAI), voice assistants (Whisper STT/TTS, WebSocket)

- Frontend: Angular, TypeScript

- Data and cloud: Redis, SQL databases, Azure, AWS

Help Wanna leave IT and do something else, what do you guys suggest?

Hey Guys!

I have a total of 7 yrs of experience in IT

I want to just leave IT and do something else. I am tired of constantly upskilling and keeping up with the pace how technology is growing and since AI has come into picture the management and people have no idea what realistic timelines look like. The lines of roles are almost blur one person is expected to do everyone’s job.

Every day I wake up with fast heartbeat and feel like I should run away from work. The meetings, scrum calls, updates, deadlines and status calls give me anxiety and this is everyday occurrence. The working hours are almost 12 in real and 9 on paper. I feel my entire life is just going in work and nothing is outside it. On weekends I just end up resting to recover and don’t feel like going out and the day I take leave I just feel weird that what should I even do I can’t even think of doing something else apart from work.

I have decided I don’t wanna spend my life like this anymore as it feels suffocating. Do you guys have any suggestion what could I do or have anyone left IT and did something else - pls refrain from saying Farming I already know about it and its definitely not easy

General With AI and agents , they want faster delivery but burnout is only increasing

With ai and agents push, everything has to be completed at record speed. The estimates are getting lesser and lesser and managers are pushing more and more

I work in product company , yesterday , I felt sick after office . I thought i have generated the code and maybe test later ,today some personal emergency work and after completing I thought of pushing , when i found that llm has misunderstood some core flows and its wrong

My manager started pinging me like why it took time nad worst part is the repo I am working on is very unfamiliar and I wasn’t even onboarded properly because use ai llm to learn

I survived by using skills. Md file and somehow prompting to give results, but more complex flow it goes it becomes difficult

I know people will say i should have been more mindful, but I am really overwhelmed by lot of things to understand and people expectations that i should complete quickly and deliver more because of AI

I try my best but problem is what takes month to learn and understand is expected to he learned in week and start contributing

Earlier taking some short break would feel good but every minute is counted , like i have to be always at top of game 24/7 and if i took a day off I feel like i am behind

I haven’t coded by hand in last 1 year atleast before this cursor , with copilot also i was doing some kind of manual coding ( around 2024) now I have becomes proompter and feeling anxious and burnout

I feel like falling behjnd because i feel i have become dumber with AI and my grasping power has reduced massively

General Looking for Real-Life Problems to Solve Through an Interactive Tech Project

Hey everyone! 👋

I'm looking for real-life problems that could be solved or improved through technology for a project I'm working on.
It could be anything from repetitive tasks at work or college to everyday inconveniences, things that waste your time, or problems you wish had a better solution.
I'm especially interested in interactive tools, apps, or digital experiences that could make everyday life easier.

For example:
An app that simplifies a frustrating daily task.

An interactive tool that helps people make decisions or stay organised.

A better way to manage something people currently do manually.

Something you wish existed but haven't found a good solution for yet.

If you could have one interactive app or digital tool that solved a real problem in your life, what would it be?
It doesn't have to be a big or complicated idea. Even the smallest inconvenience could inspire something useful.

I'd love to hear your experiences, ideas, and suggestions. Thanks in advance!

I Made This I simulated gravity and spacetime curvature in openGL

Thumbnail

okay so Im a 2nd year cse student and I'm passionate about physics. I initially saw the kavan gravity sim on youtube and wanted to recreate it.I started working on this 2 months back. I had to learn c++,opengl, make this in 2D (freespace and earths gravity) and a little bit of GR. Although low level programming is a pain in the ass, I had alot of fun making this.

working: The engine runs a dual-layer loop: a physics solver updates the 2D positions of the bodies gravitational forces while a vertex generation pass simultaneously warps the underlying 3D wireframe mesh downward along the Y-axis using the gravitational potential. This keeps the planets orbiting smoothly on a flat plane while the grid dynamically bends around them in real-time to simulate relativistic spacetime curvature.

future improvements: I would love to make this more accurate (physics wise) and add textures after i improve my opengl skills.maybe even make the central star a raytracer :)

github repo-https://github.com/saijahnvi/Relativistic-Gravity-In-3D-

edit:everything is newtonian and the grid curvature is a depiction of what the flamm's paraboloid would look like.I would like suggestions on implementing this relativistically accurate
