I just remembered how big these two artists were back then...they were the face of young musical super-stardom..but for some reason their careers ran dry.

Camila Cabello was huge 2017-2019, but her popularity really dwindled post Covid. What other musicians were popular in the 2010s but fizzled after 2020s?Β

Which 2020s celebs do you think won’t be able to find success past the current decade that made them? Or, which current celebs of the decade will simply be looked back on as a product of their time/era? (Not saying Sabrina in particular btw just a famous person).

Discussion πŸ’πŸ—―οΈ Which place used to be very popular for tourists in previous decades but isn't anymore?

Post image
3.3k Upvotes

I think for me Atlantic City has to be one of the top candidates for this question. It was the "place to be" among the upper class in the 1920s and continued to be a popular tourist destination until the 1950s.

However, in the decades since it has declined into a shell of its former self. With the rise of Las Vegas' now famous casino strip, newer modern casinos being built in neighboring states, and the democratization of long haul air travel, Atlantic City essentially got left behind. Nowadays, it's a place plagued with urban decay as many former casinos have closed and sit empty while the area near the once glamorous boardwalk has become really sketchy.

Which other places like this come to mind?

Discussion πŸ’πŸ—―οΈ What happened to the multiculturalism era in children’s media in the 90s and 2000s and what caused it to disappear?

Post image
4.1k Upvotes

In the 90s and 2000s, media aimed at children were filled with multiculturalism because millennials grew up viewing racism as a cringe and out of touch concept (even though racism still existed in that era)and they embraced and tolerated people of various backgrounds, ethnicities, and races. Now that era would have been called ”woke” by today standards. What could have cause the disappearance of the universal tolerance of multiculturalism in children’s media after the 90s and 2000s and why?

As a gen z this feeling is something i cannot explain when I look back into the 2000s ..... everyone literally everyone in the classroom looked like they have an exciting and thrilling story ( well it should be like this cause u r the Main character in ur life) The smiles are calm and confident, i believe it was the time when technology and social life was balanced. And yeah I am not cancelling the crimes that happened in the 2000s , some crimes are deadliest. But i think it was one of the times where there is less greed and selfishness compared to today's era. It really feels like a scene that cannot be recreated in a movie......✨. Edit: guys I am aware that I am seeing only specific clips that scream joy and "all good" vibes. And i am aware that if u r born in a Rich household every era sounds like a dream. i just meant to say the vibes, fashion ,social life and activities are much better and different compared to today's era. I liked that and I shared it . It's fine if u do not like it i respect it . There's a mistake in the title. Sorry that was an auto-correction error

I was alive and aware for the transition. But I can’t really pinpoint a year or range of when this change actually occurred. Does anyone else know? And does it depend on the state? I’m specifically looking for Wisconsin based answers if anyone maybe knows that as well. Thank you.

So this post on Twitter tells us that black sitcoms in the 90s and early 2000s were so popular that that became a part of many people’s childhoods of all backgrounds and then after that, they just stopped being made. I want to find out what could have caused black sitcoms into stopped being made.

I think it has to be Ice Spice, she appeared on the scene in 2022-2023 and she was supposed to be the next big thing for rap but she received backlash in 2024 and her popularity took a nosedive since then.

I think the hippie movement of the 1960s opened the door to many new ideas and ways of thinking, but why do you think the movement ultimately fell short? What were its biggest flaws, and why do you think it struggled to achieve the lasting social change that many of its supporters envisioned?
