The whole 'antizionism is antisemitism' angle is pushed so hard by just about every media outlet, regardless of perceived political leaning, to the point where it seems like the string-pullers aren't even bothering to hide anymore.

How I wish this was just a joke. I’m not gonna sugar coat it: there are a lot of bad people out there of various races and beliefs that should be held accountable but subjugating select people from countries and cultures by the actions of few is something that shouldn’t happen but does.

Well, this existed, back in 2017. (wikipedia) Who knows what they're doing these days.
Act.IL (also Act-IL) is a social networking service used by supporters of Israel to oppose online "anti-Israel content" such as the boycott, divestment and sanctions movement (BDS). Its activities were referred to as "an online propaganda campaign" and "a virtual situation room of pro-Israel experts".
Act.IL directed its users to "missions" to like, comment on, and share pro-Israel material on social media. It also asked users to flag, report, and respond to criticisms of Israel. Users were guided on how to respond, which might entail writing a reply using the provided talking points, or sharing or upvoting an allied comment. The app also provided users with ready-made memes promoting Israel's perspective for them to share. By completing missions users earned points, unlocked badges, and had their scores displayed on leaderboards.
The gamification of astroturfing. :-\

You can program users/bots to keyword search places like Reddit to specifically brigade posts like this. Social media nowadays is very easy to brigade, dead internet theory is surprisingly accurate.

To be fair, Hamas did invade Israel, kill thousands of civilians and and kidnap hundreds more. And also they've been occasionally shooting rockets at Tel Aviv for decades; the fact that Israel's missile defense system has an excellent track record of shooting those rockets down doesn't change the fact that they constitute attacks.
But to be balanced, Israel's response has been nearly as disproportionate as the US' after 9/11, and somehow even more hamfisted. It's so bad, in fact, that it is reasonable to conclude, as I and many others have, that Israel's intent is not to protect itself but to annihilate the Palestinian people in what many, myself included, justifiably consider to be a genocide.
Basically this is a situation where there are evil elements controlling the governments of both sides of the conflict; the genocidal Netanyahu regime on the Israeli side and the equally genocidal Hamas leadership on the Palestinian side. And their respective civilians are caught in the middle. The only difference is that Israel has such a massive upper hand that their civilians are generally safe from Hamas, whereas Palestinian civilians are absolutely not safe from the Netanyahu Regime.

To further reinforce this, Netanyahu reportedly has gotten lots flak in Israel’s government for “not going far enough”. Some truly evil people up in there.

Israel has been militarily occupying Gaza for over twenty years, with daily killing and injury of Palestinian civilians, including children.
even if 10/7 had been twice as deadly it would still only have been a fraction of the death and suffering Israel has caused to people who's only crime was living next to a colonial apartheid state.

Israel maintained a military blockade of the land and sea borders of Gaza for more than 2 decades during the same period “Israel completely left it.”

How far back do we need to go until you are satisfied? We can go back to the Hebron Massacre of 1929, when Palestinians went into the Anti Zionist Jewish community in Hebron and slaughtered 65+ Jews while they were sleeping. Or we could go to the 19th century when Palestinians spread blood libel. Or maybe, we can go to 1834 when Palestinians and Druze slaughtered and raped several Jews.

Literally yes, “isreal” has a well documented history of attacking peaceful protesters and civilians. Even before 2023 “isreal” would go as far as to target children and the disabled during peaceful protests like the March of Return.
The very founding of “isreal” is predicated on extreme and merciless violence towards innocents. Ever heard of the Nakba? Nearly a million indigenous Palestinians murdered or expelled from their land by zionist terrorist squads. Those same terrorist squads would later join together to form the IOF

Careful. Criticism of an ongoing genocide/ethnic cleansing in an apartheid state is apparently anti-Semitic.
46
u/In_Pursuit_of_Fire 9h ago
The problem is anti-Semites do attach themselves to the free Palastine movement. And they aren't called out as often as they should be because everyone involved is such a hardliner on the issue. Understandably so, but this is one of the problems that comes with that.

Are you actually serious about 3 wars?!
1920s and 1930s skirmishes and massacres, 1947 civil war, 1948 Arab Israel war, 1967 6 day war, 1956 war with Egypt, 1973 Yom Kippur war, 1975-1990 Lebanon Civil war, 1987-1993 First Intifada, 2000-2005 second intifada, 2006 Lebanon war, 2009 Gaza war, 2012 Gaza war, 2014 Gaza war, 2021 Gaza war, 2023-present WAR
Bit more than 3 wars

Instead of downvoting this to hell, y'all could suggest some of those neutral sources. Just one. Title, author, etc.

I had the great honor of listening live to lectures from a Palestinian history lecturer from Gaza teaching together with an Israeli history professor, they showed us how there is an active attempt to block each side from information regarding the conflict and frame a different picture , you can see it by watching how articles are different in Arabic compared to English on Wikipedia and so on. The best thing you can do is try to understand the Israeli and Palestinian view point separately (thought the Israeli side is more divided in opinion). Or you can just believe in human nature that most people just want their family to be happy and this conflict is beyond their ability to control
