"We're leaning more into the death of journalism and oligarch control on where our societies are heading... And fascism rising, of course" -- Judge Dredd Writer Rob Williams on the next era of 2000 AD
Anyone else been Judge Dredd-curious? I've read the character over the years, and enjoyed tf out of the Karl Urban film adaptation. With 2000 AD now shipping new issues weekly in America, the creative teams are kicking off a new jumping on point for new readers. It feels like it dovetails with what's been impossible to ignore here in the states -- or at the very least, I dug what Rob Williams and Arthur Wyatt are doing with the "A Better World" followup.

Discussion So, Superman in the new Legion of Super-Heroes series is definitely... Spoiler
...Cyborg Superman, right? Any historical record or flashback shows Superman/boy entirely in silhouette, with only Imra's vision showing the true, 'regular' Clark.
This seems to be all but confirmed in the Superman: Year One Thousand Annual, which ends with Brainiac bottling various Legion futures, and summoning Cyborg Superman to ensure no further Legions rise. At which point, Cyborg Superman says "If the future hopes for a new Legion... I will be their inspiration."
Cyborg Superman has for sure inserted him into that universe's timeline, corrupting the flow of events, to lead to the future we're seeing in Williamson and Sherman's current series, right?

Question Other than Monsters (2021) by Barry Windsor-Smith which was made over the course of 35 years, are there comic books / graphic novels that took a long time to be published?
I’m fascinated by this subject for some reason. Maybe it’s because it speaks of the passion and perseverance of the artists and the struggle to see their work in a published form. Do you know other examples?

Question Why is the distribution of translated comics so incredibly poor in Latin America?
I'm from a LATAM country and while I was inside a known bookshop from my country, I saw how many comics aren't translated to Spanish and are fully in English. Comparing that to manga, which are almost always sold fully translated in Spanish, it's awful.
I know that there are speciality comic stores, but they're often in richer areas and there aren't many. And even those have the same issue.

How good are the mainline DC books these days?
DC's Absolute line is all the rage, praised up to the 7th heaven.
But how's the quality of the mainline books? Like, what's the average quality across the board? It's obviously not as hyped as the Absolute line but are they any good?

Discussion MyComicShop New Pricing Tool
Anyone get complete sticker shock today going onto the MyComicShop website and seeing literally ALL recent back issues in near mint condition uniformly go up to $10?!?! And very fine condition all go up to $8?!?! And so on.
Seriously. Go out and look. It’s their new pricing tool in full effect to fuck you over. If the issue is not the current issue of the series then the price automatically goes up to $10. Across the board. It is unbelievable. As soon as the newest issue hits then the one before it that was just selling for, say, $4.99 on their site is now $10.
If this isn’t a major fuckup on their part and is truly what they think the value of that comic now is, then I would hope all of you that use their site will send them an email letting them know what you think about their new pricing tool. I did.

Question What makes a comic "indie"?
So when i was recommended to look for indie comics outside of the big 2, i was looking for comics that didnt have a company name attached to them.
However i was then told that stuff like invincible, saga, twd, and hellboy are considered indie comics.
Now in the gaming sphere, indie typically refers to a game being self published or published by a small company.
Now i realize that these companies are nowhere near as big as marvel or dc, but image, skybound, dark horse, etc are still pretty big companies with tons of comics under their names.

Question Can foil comics be pressed/is there anything that can be done to help this?
Hey everyone, new to the community and relatively new to comic collecting. I recently got this from a friend and unfortunately it got crunched at the top (fucking postal service). I don’t plan to get it graded or sell it, but I was curious if this could be pressed out at all? Idk if people do pressing with foil comics. I’ve had a couple comics graded and pressed 2 years ago. Any help would be greatly appreciated 🙏🏻

Suggestions Suggestions for wholesome super hero comics?
I'm looking for comic recommendations that are more lighthearted, wholesome, and low-stakes. Something that focuses on character relationships, friendship, family, and everyday moments rather than dark storylines.
Recently, I really enjoyed Batman and Robin: Year One, especially the dad/son relationship between Bruce and Dick. I also really enjoyed Batgirls, the art is amazing and I loved the friendship between Steph and Cass.
Basically, I'm looking for more wholesome comics, with kind hearted characters, friendships and family dynamics. Stories that don't take themselves too seriously all the time.
