Newest additions to the collection.

Cover has Spiderman literally being torn up, with the Lizard seeming more Feral and Rabid. Another one of my top covers. Would love for a new Lizard to be in the movies. ASM movie lizard gave me handsome squidward vibes.

One of the bookstores near my work is sadly going out of business, so they marked down all comics to 90% off! I ended up paying $66 and some change for everything pictured. I’m probably gonna be going back there within the next few days.

Fun fact I learned recently. Pretty much everyone thinks that The Thing from another world first appearance in comics is from the Dark Horse mini series (first picture) but it's not. Its first appearance in comics was in Starstream #1 from 1976. I've been trying to find more info about it or if this was common knowledge but everywhere I read, it says the Dark Horse mini is the first app.

Then you get to the point when you realize that the dark horse mini series is a direct sequel to the 80s movie. That makes things more interesting. Funny enough, Starstream #1 can be bought for just a couple of bucks, way less than Thing from another world #1

the Young Justice “Sins of Youth” storyline was my first reading of the character, so that line is stuck in my head when it comes to him

Day #15 I’m going with another one of my autographed favorites. What’s some of Y’all’s favorite autographed books you have?

Mail call from week ago. This is the ultimate Halloween Cover for any comic in my humble opinion. Cover Art by Bernie Wrightson

Story time!

On Sunday I went to visit some of my father's friends (Tim and Marge) out of town. They are in their early 70s (like my dad) and they are really good people. As they were talking, Marge told me that they had brought a lot of stuff back from Tim's warehouse and we're looking to donate most of the stuff or just sell what they could. I had a feeling that I should take a look at one big box sitting at the corner. There were several comics in there. I said "Wow" out loud and she asked "did you find a dead mouse in there or what?" Lol.

I asked her how much they wanted for the box of comics and she wanted to just give it to me for free but I refused. She said a few bucks and we had a deal. She later told me she had no idea I liked those. Tim used to have way more back in the day, "superhero stuff" and more Mickey mouse books. Damn. She doesn't know what happened to them. We looked everywhere but no luck. Tim also didn't remember what he did with the rest of his comics but he said he was big collecting horror comic books (😓) and some superman and batman stuff (just silly stuff) as he call them.

Oh well, I still walked away with a small box filled with pretty cool golden age books!

Reading one issue a day until Halloween!

Low grade is better than no grade.

Long time desired grail finally acquired!

I love my LCS

My boy Hob just looks menacing lol. This will be my bedtime read for tonight.
