They say the only way from rock bottom is up, but people often forget how hard it is to rise when you're already at your lowest. If there's a basement beneath rock bottom, that's probably where I am.

Sometimes, I just want to give up on life. I don't see the point anymore, and everything feels so uncertain. Maybe pessimism hurts less because it keeps you from expecting too much. False hope and the whole “fake it till you make it” thing might work for others, but I'm just tired.

I just hope life treats us better soon. I hope it shows us a little mercy, too. Deep down, we're still just children trying to figure things out. We're only adults because of our age, not because we're ready for everything life throws at us.
