Blank Got these bad boys today
Sealed 80s cassettes from Philips awakening nostalgia of an era long gone.
Are these from the early or late 80s production ? If you tried them don’t hesitate to give your impressions 🤩

Deck / Hi-Fi Found this on the street. Technics RS-X40. Trash or treasure?
Looks pretty good. No time to test yet. 'Made in Japan' if that's any indication of quality. It has a proprietary connector. Are there any adaptors for this?

Collection Physical Media Cabinet
I finally finished this cabinet to store my physical media collection.
The cassettes, I purchased in a thrift store (80-90s grunge, rock, pop). The records are from my grandfather, grandmother, and great aunt (all country). The cds are my collection from the early 2000s (rock, rap).
The Aiwa is not great but it is compact and everything works. I have the radio antennas attached to the back of the cabinet in a big loop against the wall and I get great reception. The radio keeps my bird company during the day.
My OCD makes it imperative that there are no exposed wires. I'll paint it one day (probably never).

Deck / Hi-Fi So I found a couple of local options for $50-$100, wanted opinions on models and which one I should go for (Sony Vs Teac)

Score! Someone offloaded some of their early 90’s tapes
I rarely see any if at all 90’s music at the thrift store but I found these yesterday and gladly snatched them up! Slick Rick for $1.99? Yes please!

Looking for advice What's your ideal seller look like?
I'm currently working on a small gig- buy broken Walkmans (Walkmen?), fix them, sell them. I've been collecting and fixing Walkmans for a few years (my TPS-L2 is my holy grail, currently trying to fix my D6), and I figured it wouldn't hurt to try turning it into a business. Any advice you have for a newbie? Thanks!

Looking for advice Identification of stange cassette case
I recently came across a type of cassette case I've never seen before.
It doesn't seem to be a custom or self-made case, it being used by different artists, although mainly in Japan.
Some examples:
https://jp.mercari.com/item/m51215394547
https://www.discogs.com/release/25539541-DJ-Kiyo-Inspiration-Box
https://www.discogs.com/master/2910604-DJ-Kiyo-Substream
https://www.discogs.com/release/25539493-DJ-Kiyo-Give-Me-A-Break-Vol5-Live-At-La-Marchal
I would like to know if there's a specific name for this case or any information about the producer/manufacturer.
Thanks in advance.
Edit: there's a typo in the title, I meant "strange".

Indie label release Cassette spotlight: Luxury Noise - "Forgive Yourself" c56 [electronic]
Luxury Noise - "Forgive Yourself" c56
https://arcticcontact.bandcamp.com/album/forgive-yourself-remastered
Soaring Balearic house, rapid-fire breakbeats, and moments of contemporary synthesis are just some of the electronic range seen in this collection inspired by grief and growth. Contemplative without missing a beat.

Bootleg My chemical romance tape dupe?
I bought this for a pretty penny an I think its a cheap fake an I need some advice and discogs uses the exact same photos
The j card looks real but the tape has some red flags the print is a little crooked and blurry an it still has the tabs on the top from when it was recorded which makes me think its fake
An the quality of the sound isn't really there

Mixtape Belts need fixing? (Auto reverse PSRX 300)
Hello! I’m new here so I’ll keep it brief, I’m not accustomed to any thing that really has to do with the actual mechanics when it comes to cassettes or their players. I recently bought a player for my friend as well as a custom mixtape, I was told by the seller that the reason my tape (newer model) does not work is that the Walkman I purchased was an old model and the other tape I have (1978) works more as it an older model, and I would have to perhaps change the belts on it to it may work better. If anyone knows, please let me know how to replace the belt to this model! It’s pictured above.

Looking for advice Buying cassette deck
So I already have a bunch of cassette decks but since I can't get enough of them I want one more. I am planning to use this one for a lot of recording but also a lot of playback of course. I have a Pioneer deck with the Auto BLE feature which is just great so I'd love to have a similar one in this deck. I was looking at a Pioneer CT-WM77R or a similar "cassette changer", but I'm afraid those are very fragile and will be a nightmare to repair. Or am I mistaken? It needs to have decently good fidelity and be somewhat reliable (if that's possible, in my experience reliable cassette players aren't real!). My local market sucks so it will have to be from eBay or any other similar site in Europe. What do you recommend? Preferably not something that isn't as expensive as a (Nakamichi) Dragon lol. What do you recommend?

Deck / Hi-Fi What sort of quirks does your cassette deck have?
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
My cassette deck always puts a tone at the start of each recording that can’t be disabled presumably for auto stop but it continues even if there’s one in the middle, I had a portable where it won’t always start playing the first time so you had to press play again and a player I fitted a U/CAS into which didn’t always start recording when I hit record on the computer so I would get a blank file at the end of it, old technology has their gremlins, what gremlins do you have?
P.S. the song is Jz-Oft3.xm if you are interested, Amiga trackers are cool so I’ve recorded tapes of the songs, I even messed with recording the .mod file to the cassette directly so I could load the song as it was playing in real time, super cool stuff!

Looking for advice Recording help
What is causing this type of sound on recordings I make? I don’t hear these pops when playing professionally recorded tapes on my deck. Is it usually a recording issue, source issue, or tape issue?
Deck - Yamaha kx-400u
Source - lossless Spotify from my computer via Topping D50 external DAC
Tape - TDK D90 Type I

Looking for advice Sony wm-ex670 issue
Ok here is what happened. A while back I replaced the belt on one of these but it was a cheap belt from AliExpress, it worked on play, but reverse and forward seemed to stop after 5 or 10 secs or so. A loose belt was one of the possibilities
I bought a top quality belt from UK seller Decktech and went through the same process of fitting it as before. However I think I must have something misaligned now on reassembly
Now when I press play there is no click from the mechanism working normally as before. Instead the wheels turn very slowly for a couple of secs then stop. Same with forward and reverse.
Any ideas what I have done?. When I initially put the case back on the volume wheel was not visible in the slot and trapped under However with the case installed correctly it still doesn't work.

Tape find Rare cassette
Can someone help me identifiying this model of cassette. I couldn't find it online.
I bought it yesterday.
When in search for "tdk ma-xg 90" i see a transparent one.
It sounds amazing, it has a lot of SADE songs.
