Does anyone know any cocktail bars that do a decent White Russian?

Are there any job recruitment sites? Instagrams? First time in the UK as I acquired citizenship as a dual citizen because of my dad, I’m 19 and do have job experience as a barista and other front desk work but aside from Indeed I don’t know where else to find Job openings.

I’m 19 from the Philippines and a dual citizen in the UK, I chose Bristol because I feel like it would be fastest place for me to get a job with the way I look ( lots of hands, neck and face tattoos)
I know the living costs in Bristol are crazy and I would have to flat share with multiple people to survive with a minimum wage job.
The thing is I’ve been looking online and all the flat share mates are much much older people or “professionals” . Having to be the only foreign teenager in a household with giant white locals in their 30s - 40s is a massive culture shock, especially since this is my first time out of my country. I don’t wanna seem like a bitch or anything but everytime I see a white person irl it’s like looking at an alien from a different planet, I need a little sense of familiarity so I’m not a shut in,talking to no one and only cooking food at 3am when everyone is asleep.
I was wondering if there was any online community or people renting flats where a few of the house mates are either alternative like me or at the very least in their 20s so there’s some relatability there.

Hello all,
Visiting Bristol soon with my husband, just the two of us. Really want to book the Wallace and Gromit escape room but have read it’s not advisable with less than 3 people…they seem to have changed the rules so you can now book for just 2, but they strongly advise a 3 person minimum. Has anyone done it with 2 or could give advice on whether it’s doable? Neither of us have done an escape room before so we’re also beginners!
Thanks in advance!

Roofline? Floorplan? Misprint? Cover-up? (It is exactly the same on both sides though)

Hi all!
I (41M) bought tickets for the Simple Things Festival in July and kinda started following Bristol on Reddit. Then Reddit started splashing Bristol all over my feed so often that I became a longtime lurker on the Bristol subreddit, lol.
So, I’m already pretty up to speed on what’s going on (those brats spitting on people, hot air balloons, where to play 5-a-side, those guys who partied with the autistic fella, etc., etc.). However, if I may, I still have a few questions about my trip.
Thanks so much for taking the time to help me out. Cheers!

Please can I have suggestions of nice pubs in bristol that have the capacity to hold 120 people for a wedding reception.
We really like Greenbank in Easton but they can only accommodate 100 people unfortunately.
We're not looking to have a sit down meal, just a good party in the evening, as we're hoping to have a more intimate wedding breakfast earlier in the day. If the venue can do buffet food, great, but if not we can organise this ourselves.
Thank you in advance 😊

Greetings! Me and my family are heading to Bristol later in the year and looking for peoples recommendations on hotel options. We are visiting family who live in Long Ashton but have no preference to stay on the doorstep, we’d rather something central and relatively good standard as we’re likely to spend 3 nights and a fair amount of time in the hotel itself due to having a small child who still naps.
Current shortlist is Marriott Royal, Leonardo or Holiday Inn… We like the look of the Marriott but is obviously the most expensive one of the 3!
Thanks for any advice.

Hi, sorry for TA account, just want to remain absolutely anonymous on that. And sorry if post sounds a bit odd, English is not my first language.
As the title said- how do I meet new friends without alcohol involved? 😅 in my thirties, around half year ago I've finally admitted to myself that I've got a problem with drinking and cut it off from my life. But unfortunately most of my social interactions were with my pub friends since I was young, so now I'm a bit lost on how to meet people who also decided to be sober. I do not mind going to the pubs and drink non alcoholic drinks occasionally, just will be nice to join some activities/ groups where evenings are not ending up as me being only sober one in a group :)
I do enjoy board games, walks, bit of crafty things, and currently fighting with my insecurities to finally join some gym/swimming pool/yoga/anything involving physical activities. My biggest fear is that I'll show up somewhere just to find out that everyone who attends knows each other since pre school, all friendships are already established and playing Catan or going for half an hour walk is just an excuse to get wasted later on 🥲
So yeah, any help and direction highly appreciated, thank you for reading! :)

What are peoples experiences with churches in Bristol, I currently go to E5 which is has really good truthful sermons but the vibe itself i dont think is for me, ive had a look at a few diffrent ones but again dont seem to gel with them.
Can anyone recommend me churches to try, I mainly want one that has good truthful sermons/good pastors, good/close and well connected community for support and fellowship and ive recently just had a son and would like to find my home church before committing to anyone as id like to be able to trust their sunday school.
Thank you in advance.

Why hide your face if you’re doing nothing wrong and aren’t embarrassed?
Surely you want your identity to be known because you’re out there ‘protecting the community’.
Edit: I found this video on another sub with no backstory unfortunately. Thought I’d share it with fellow Bristolians as I’d seen videos like this from other places but now it’s right on our door step

I think an important part of what makes the Nottingham tram work is the guaranteed journey time despite the rush hour. Some roads where made one way to cars, or trams only; traffic lights favour the trams. I think you would need similar for this scheme, but it should need less digging up the road compared to rail

Hey everyone
Can anyone recommend a sax teacher for in-person lessons (I am in BS2 but happy to cycle up to 30 mins-ish). I used to play to a good standard but that was 10+ years ago and haven't played since - not fussed about doing any more exams/qualifications, open to any genres, just want to pick it up again
Thank you!

Hi guys,
As the title, I'm new to Bristol and I like to play blackjack. It seems very limited casino options in Bristol and the first search result is Grosvenor.
I'm wondering if there's enough tables for blackjack in there? How much minimum per hand? Any other casino recommendations? Thanks in advance.

Hey everyone! Our Durdham Downs Saturday League is looking for a goalkeeper for this Saturday (17th October)
We’ve got a great bunch of lads and are a very social team, so if you fancy getting involved, you’d be more than welcome! Any ability is welcome, although a bit of experience playing in goal would obviously be a bonus.
Also, if you’re an outfield player and fancy joining an 11-a-side team for the season, feel free to get in touch too — we’re open to players in any position.
Drop me a message if you’re interested or want to know a bit more! 🍻⚽️

I’m currently on a bit of a road trip, stopped in Liverpool for a couple days and they’ve got a load of great Irish bars. Not tacky, corporate rubbish but authentic look and feel of a proper Irish boozer. Bristol needs this in my opinion. I know we’ve got Seamus o’ Donnell’s but that’s more of a gay/drag bar these days and way too small.

Hello everyone
Lately I've been craving some nice crusty well fired (burnt) rolls but I can't seem to find any place that sells them!
If anyone knows of such a place I'd appreciate the information!
Thankyou!
