Where To? Wallace and gromit escape room Bristol
Hello all,
Visiting Bristol soon with my husband, just the two of us. Really want to book the Wallace and Gromit escape room but have read itās not advisable with less than 3 peopleā¦they seem to have changed the rules so you can now book for just 2, but they strongly advise a 3 person minimum. Has anyone done it with 2 or could give advice on whether itās doable? Neither of us have done an escape room before so weāre also beginners!
Thanks in advance!

Where To? Pub wedding venues?
Please can I have suggestions of nice pubs in bristol that have the capacity to hold 120 people for a wedding reception.
We really like Greenbank in Easton but they can only accommodate 100 people unfortunately.
We're not looking to have a sit down meal, just a good party in the evening, as we're hoping to have a more intimate wedding breakfast earlier in the day. If the venue can do buffet food, great, but if not we can organise this ourselves.
Thank you in advance š

Where To? Making friends sober?
Hi, sorry for TA account, just want to remain absolutely anonymous on that. And sorry if post sounds a bit odd, English is not my first language.
As the title said- how do I meet new friends without alcohol involved? š in my thirties, around half year ago I've finally admitted to myself that I've got a problem with drinking and cut it off from my life. But unfortunately most of my social interactions were with my pub friends since I was young, so now I'm a bit lost on how to meet people who also decided to be sober. I do not mind going to the pubs and drink non alcoholic drinks occasionally, just will be nice to join some activities/ groups where evenings are not ending up as me being only sober one in a group :)
I do enjoy board games, walks, bit of crafty things, and currently fighting with my insecurities to finally join some gym/swimming pool/yoga/anything involving physical activities. My biggest fear is that I'll show up somewhere just to find out that everyone who attends knows each other since pre school, all friendships are already established and playing Catan or going for half an hour walk is just an excuse to get wasted later on š„²
So yeah, any help and direction highly appreciated, thank you for reading! :)

Where To? Hotel Recommendations
Greetings! Me and my family are heading to Bristol later in the year and looking for peoples recommendations on hotel options. We are visiting family who live in Long Ashton but have no preference to stay on the doorstep, weād rather something central and relatively good standard as weāre likely to spend 3 nights and a fair amount of time in the hotel itself due to having a small child who still naps.
Current shortlist is Marriott Royal, Leonardo or Holiday Inn⦠We like the look of the Marriott but is obviously the most expensive one of the 3!
Thanks for any advice.

Housing Going to Bristol at 19, from the Philippines, need alternative house mates
Iām 19 from the Philippines and a dual citizen in the UK, I chose Bristol because I feel like it would be fastest place for me to get a job with the way I look ( lots of hands, neck and face tattoos)
I know the living costs in Bristol are crazy and I would have to flat share with multiple people to survive with a minimum wage job.
The thing is Iāve been looking online and all the flat share mates are much much older people or āprofessionalsā . Having to be the only foreign teenager in a household with giant white locals in their 30s - 40s is a massive culture shock, especially since this is my first time out of my country. I donāt wanna seem like a bitch or anything but everytime I see a white person irl itās like looking at an alien from a different planet, I need a little sense of familiarity so Iām not a shut in,talking to no one and only cooking food at 3am when everyone is asleep.
I was wondering if there was any online community or people renting flats where a few of the house mates are either alternative like me or at the very least in their 20s so thereās some relatability there.

Where To? Culture/vinyl stores/running recommendation?
Hi all!
I (41M) bought tickets for the Simple Things Festival in July and kinda started following Bristol on Reddit. Then Reddit started splashing Bristol all over my feed so often that I became a longtime lurker on the Bristol subreddit, lol.
So, Iām already pretty up to speed on whatās going on (those brats spitting on people, hot air balloons, where to play 5-a-side, those guys who partied with the autistic fella, etc., etc.). However, if I may, I still have a few questions about my trip.
- Iād love to spend Friday night just chilling with a book and having a few drinks. Any recommendations for a cosy bar or pub that doesnāt blast music at Boeing landing level volume?
- On Saturday, Iād love to go for a run. Any recommendations on where to run and where to avoid, starting from the city centre?
- Iām going to see Bristol City on Saturday, but then Iāll have to rush to the festival. Whatās the fastest way to get back to the city centre? Uber? Public transport?
- Iām really into contemporary art and books. Any recommendations near the city centre?
- Any good record stores specialising in either experimental music or heavy stuff (screamo, hardcore, etc.)?
Thanks so much for taking the time to help me out. Cheers!

Babble Saxophone teacher
Hey everyone
Can anyone recommend a sax teacher for in-person lessons (I am in BS2 but happy to cycle up to 30 mins-ish). I used to play to a good standard but that was 10+ years ago and haven't played since - not fussed about doing any more exams/qualifications, open to any genres, just want to pick it up again
Thank you!

Where To? What's Grosvenor casino like nowadays?
Hi guys,
As the title, I'm new to Bristol and I like to play blackjack. It seems very limited casino options in Bristol and the first search result is Grosvenor.
I'm wondering if there's enough tables for blackjack in there? How much minimum per hand? Any other casino recommendations? Thanks in advance.

Babble Any help finding this?
I've tried looking for it for months. They sold it at a shop near me for a little bit (more or less an off-brand B&M that sells stuff for cheap but doesn't keep the stock in) and there was this amazing soy sauce. I've looked in every Asian supermarket in town, asked the people working there, and looked online. Nothing. Unless I want to spent £30+ on a 4 pack when it was £1 a bottle before. Any help would be great

Where To? Gel Nail Salon in Bristol?
Hi! Nail girlie's I need help!
Had my nails done twice now (i was a manicure virgin) , and the artwork hasn't been what I've been hoping.
I see such beautiful, even, clean lines on everyone else, but when I go it's like they suddenly forget how to draw nice lines.
Now it is custom artwork but it's 1 circle with a dot in it, another circle with 2 lines, and another circle with 3 lines. Plus 2 Trapeziums (one outer edges longer, one opposite way).
First place I got it done was Acrylics but they peeled off. I booked at a different place that was recommended to me, that were GEL nails (and after like 6 weeks I actually love the gel, even if I wasn't happy with the artwork)
Now I did like the service at the second salon, simply because the girl actually clipped off my cuticles and sanded all the dry skin back from my finger edges (I pick my skin until I bleed if there's ANY cagginess but I am trying to get better...) and I have stupidly thin brittle bendy breakable nails that flex like rice paper.
I live in Kingswood, and would appreciate somewhere close by, however I dont mind travelling for it within Bristol if I get the result I actually wantā. Paying Ā£85 for nails and artwork seems a little annoying when the quality of the work is something I could probably do at home.
I will post a picture of one nail (because my nails are unique and likely identifiable but oh well) and then put the reference pic up.
Can someone please tell me whether my expectations are too high?ā There's a million places in Bristol that seem to be able to do all these complicated flowers and lace lookalike and ombre and fine detail, but yet when it comes to mine it's like they used a tippex marker! And it's not like I'm asking for the Mona Lisa on my nails....
