I’m back, guys! .And this time I want you lot to suggest the best kebab in town.
Since moving to Basingstoke, I’ve actually never had a kebab here, so I’m looking for recommendations. ( I usually get the chicken shish with chilli sauce and picked jalapeños) Where should I go?

Has anyone been to this gym? Want to get into the habit of going to the gym and this is the closest and seems most convenient.

Whats so hard about this this roundabout ( the lanes are really clearly marked on both the gantry and the road surface ) , but even so, drivers regularly use lane two to turn left onto the motorway cutting across those in lane one heading straight over.

Around once a month, a driver tries to drive through me in lane one when I am heading straight over towards the south ring road and they get angry about it. To the driver of the van this morning, please pay more attention, or give up your licence as you will kill someone with your inattentive and incompetent driving.

I am not sure what else can be done to stop this. Any suggestions ?

An after dark gathering of men, some in shorts, some in tight fitting leisurewear, in a remote, wooded location.

It's about protecting the women and children apparently.

Is there anywhere in town that is recommended for deep tissue / sports massages??

Saw this in town today.
Some concerns I have:

- Police said it can be used for people who are wanted, not yet charged but police are looking for, immigration (but not in town today), under 18 events (but not today).
- I could only consent after seeing that sign. How am I supposed to know where to go if I don’t consent?
- Police officer said if you’re a regular person you don’t need to worry… that is always a slippery slope when it comes to privacy and surveillance.
- Police said it’s biometric mapping of your face so it doesn’t recognise your race, gender etc. Evidence shows this sort of technology has racism baked into it. People of different ethnicities and genders typically have different face shapes.
- Demographics who tend to be targeted by police due to race, class etc are understandably nervous about the police. How will they feel being in town?
- Assuming that we accept the police’s reassurances, how can we be sure this sort of surveillance won’t be increased or when the communication on this has been poor? I’m often walking around town and all I’ve seen is that sign. The officer said a warning was posted on Facebook too. They said they don’t want it to be too advertised so criminals (or people they suspect to be involved in crime) So… are we allowing people to consent or not? Sounds like a pretence of consent but not genuine?

i (20f) moved to basingstoke for my placement year, and even though it’s only been a month i’m really starting to regret it. it feels like outside of festival place there isnt really anything? i’ve realised though it’s most likely because i haven’t made any friends here yet. i’ve never struggled with that before since i’ve had uni and it’s dead easy to make friends there, but i just feel so lonely and bored here? if there’s any social groups or anything like that for people around my age i’d love to take part in some things, i just can’t stand being alone here. thanks :)

I’ve lived in the UK for almost 7 years and Basingstoke for the last 2 and haven’t met any other South Africans! I know there’s a lot of us here especially London but I’ve yet to make any South African friends and I feel like I’m loosing touch with home , Ive joined some facebook groups but feel like it’s more families and mostly people quite a bit older than me, I’m only 24 so any suggestions for making some South African friends would be great!

Just drove past on the Eastrop roundabout, that exit is blocked with cones and a blue Police - Road Closed sign, looks like there are also police officers stopping pedestrians from walking across to the station from the Waitrose side, and i saw a few police cars further in, but I was a passenger in a car just going past so couldn't get a clear look.
