Since the last post about this got deleted because it contained a X screenshot, hopefully this one actually stays for comment.

All the sports betting ads, ED ads, pharma ads, the Hegseth fascist military ads, the unhinged political ads, it’s all fucking enough already.

EDIT: I'm glad we can all agree on something, flairs notwithstanding.

For me the absolute darkest ads are from one of the casinos that advertises on spectrum. It will usually show a couple doing whatever, some kind of resort activity, then they will pass through a door that leads to a beautiful landscape where, incongruously, two slot machines are waiting. Of course, these days slot machines are basically designed with the goal of making us into drooling zombies, mashing on a button for hours on end in a diaper.

I think the tag line is the incredibly new-speak-esque "welcome to freedom".

Every time I see it I feel genuinely sad.

Come on man, those ads are totally realistic.

All the gorgeous 23-year-old women spend their Friday nights dressed to the nines at the local Indian casino an hour away from civilization, where every man is wearing a tailored suit and high-fiving his buddies as he wins for the fourth time in a row.

My favorite part is when the guy magically comes out of a TV to refill a lady’s wine glass, then she immediately walks away.

Or the 40-something guy who’s just out of shape enough to be somewhat relatable to the average suburban dad walking in with his beautiful 30-something blonde wife as they smile and open their mouths to gasp while taking in the majesty of the dimly-lit room that smells like lung darts and old people who don’t have anything in their 401k.

And remember—according to the voiceover, you’re not a sucker when you go to the casino, you’re a “player.”

If you move anywhere within a 2-hour drive of an Indian casino there’s an excellent chance you’ll see one exactly as described, many, many times, during just about every single sporting event you watch.

They’ll also highlight the resort’s golf course where the husband goes to ditch his family after gambling away the kids’ college funds as they sit and wait for him by the pool.

The most normal ones I’ve seen is a group of people dancing through different areas of the casino, which is at least normal and not a surrealist nightmare.

Your not even a player, your a "winner."

Just like lottery ticket commercials with cartoon animals. PA has Gus the groundhog. I'm sure everyplace else has something similar. Gus even has a "clever" catchphrase. Keep on scratchin!

Scratch your way to forclosure!

Casinos are fun. But like alcohol, moderation and self control is the key. And neither is promoted in any commercial ever.

Addictive activities need to be regulated against advertising at the MINIMUM in such a way that children will never see them. Cigarettes, alcohol, gambling. Anything else is an absolute FAILURE to uphold "the best interests of the child", which is a simple and yet profound concept that most world experts consider to be FOUNDATIONAL to any functionally just and ordered society. Ergo, america is a cesspit that doesn't give 2 shits about it's kids

I also can't stand the current DraftKings rewards club ad read I have to skip over or listen to on most podcasts currently. I mean that kind of betting and the behavior of Draftkings is deplorable anyway, but this just seems so unethical. Getting rewarded for losing? They are kinda doing it anyway to keep milking their wales and addicts, but this is so blatant.
