"Debhata Police Station Officer-in-Charge HM Shaheen said an audio clip purportedly containing Wahiduzzaman Shamim’s (Victim) remarks went viral on social media on Tuesday morning.

That evening, a group of people began beating Shamim in the Sakhipur area of the upazila. On information, police rescued Shamim and took him to Debhata Upazila Health Complex.

Around 9:00pm, a group of people under the banner of “Tawhidi Janata” entered the hospital and beat Shamim again, the OC said. As his condition deteriorated, he was referred to Satkhira Medical College Hospital, where doctors declared him dead around 1:00am today."

My adult sister lives in Bangladesh and wants to end a relationship. Her ex, who reportedly lives in Dubai, is threatening to share her private/intimate photos unless she stays with him or agrees to marry him.

It is incredibly disgusting to see how everyone shifts the burden of safety onto women. Everytime it places the burden of safety on women instead of holding men accountable. It's really disappointing to see how much of the discussion focuses entirely on policing and restricting women's freedom under the guise of safety, rather than addressing the actual perpetrators of violence and the men who make our society unsafe. By placing the imbalanced psychological burden on women, society continues to cause harm. Pushing this harmful narrative that [we must police the women] doesn't protect anyone. While we are telling women to do this do that, the perpetrators continues to do their deeds. They are never the one to face consequences. Stop acting like men are above accountability.

Why should women do anything? It's a male problem, it's the problem of the society/system that continues to produce the perpetrators.

I am currently living in Malaysia and what this entire haze situation in southeast asia has taught me is that if people live in a country where they usually live in good to moderate air quality, they will see an issue with air quality that is bad or unhealthy. Something us Bangladeshis don't really have the opportunity to complain about because we consistently live in bad air quality.

For cleaner air quality, there needs to be stricter environmental laws that has to be implemented. Which feels like a pipe dream to achieve in Bangladesh.

I'm from Kerala, India, and I'm thinking about visiting Bangladesh, probably Dhaka. I've never travelled there before, so I'm trying to figure out how everything works before making any plans.

A few things I'm confused about:

- How difficult is it for an Indian citizen to get a Bangladeshi tourist visa?

- Do I need to maintain a certain bank balance? Do they ask for bank statements?

- How much would a trip of 7 days cost, including flights, accommodation and other expenses?

- What's the easiest way to travel from Kerala to Dhaka, for now am planning of taking a flight?

- For anyone living in Bangladesh, what’s it like for someone visiting from India right now? Is there anything a first-timer should know before coming?

- Any advice about accommodation, local transport or anything else I should know?

I'm still in the planning stage, so I haven't booked anything yet. Just trying to understand the process and figure out how much I need to save.

The radical Islamists have killed and are killing people they do not like. Situation has become so tense that past years seems to be feel like heaven. If they keep going that without accountability , anybody will face inhuamne mob lynching. It can be moderate muslim, Hindu, Buddhist, Christiniary, non religious people and even Islamist themselves for internal different views. They do not wait for a verification if it was a rumour or actual truth if it was blasephamy. They just mercilessly kill the person. I think there are some ways to do something about it. We as thoughtful citizens should help the victim or one's family to take legal steps. Victim's family often do not take legal action againist them due to fear of being targeted. However, extertnal force may reduce the fear and take legal actions. Organizations like Ain O shalish Kendra might help. secondly, we should contact mainstream newspapers to initiatives to keep updating the cases relating to mob violence which will keep the govt and law accountable for sustained time. International pressure might help also. What do u think?

I'm in love with a boy. Im in last year of University and he's in 3 rd year. I'm a girl. At first i refused to get involved with him as my family Won't accept. But he kept assuring me everything will be alright and We will get married.for the last 2 year he kept saying thaf.now i rejected arranged marriages just waiting for him. Now this is the last year. He's still not ready and I had a argument with my mother. My mother told me to get out of the house and i did out of anger.at first i told him I'm getting out of the house, i might go to my friends hall. He said ok.but i wanted him to come and pick me. He knew i had no money with me.He didn’t bother to ask how will you go?

Then i said You're not man enough. That hurt his ego. I also blocked him after that.

I miss him though. He did loved and cared for me immensely. He would lend me money whenever i needed. But I was getting sick of the relationship which was going nowhere. He can't marry me now. And my family is pressuring me. Moreover i have to do tuition to handle my University fees.i have to do research, I have to apply scholarship. I felt like I'm the man in the relationship fighting hard to marry him.

My family is also toxic.my mother often shames me, often insults me. I have nowhere to leave. He knows everything yet he ask me to wait, i have been waiting for 2 years. Even my batchmates got married with their loved ones.

I Don't know what to do. I still wait for him to return.

In Previous fights i always returned to him. He also returned but now this time nor any of us are willing to return.
