Mingalaba / မင်္ဂလာပါ; and welcome to r/myanmar.
If this is your first time on Reddit, you may want to familiarize yourself with Reddit's rules and policies. To make sure you have not been afoul of the rules, please see
https://reddit.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/205926439-Reddiquette
https://translate.google.com/translate?hl=&sl=auto&tl=my&u=https%3A%2F%2Freddit.zendesk.com%2Fhc%2Fen-us%2Farticles%2F205926439-Reddiquette is the Burmese translation of the document using Google translate. If this doesn't work see https://translated.turbopages.org/proxy_u/en-my.en.09ead139-668034e0-8d10fdfd-74722d776562/https/support.reddithelp.com/hc/en-us/articles/205926439-Reddiquette.
A Reddit community is called a subreddit, also known as a sub. The subreddits start with r/.
Followers are not important on Reddit. Your followers are not important either. Only your posts and comments are important. Unlike other social media, hashtags are not useful on Reddit. The Reddit account username cannot be changed after signing up. To change it, you will need to create a new account, which will reset your karma.
Karma is an arbitrary measure of how much you contributed. The more upvotes you get, the higher your Karma. Some subreddits require you to have a certain amount of Karma before you can post. Do not spam irrelevant posts to other subreddits or be rude, insulting, or abusive, as you can be downvoted. This will cause you to lose Karma. Try to avoid getting your total Karma in the negative value.
Also make sure to follow our rules, which are prominently displayed in the sidebar to the right.
For a brief background of the coup, please see this post I made.
Does the content you're posting here fit more than one community? As per Reddiquette, consider posting to other subs such as the ones listed here if the contents fit more communities.
For example, are you posting news? Then you can post into r/news, r/inthenews, r/worldnews, r/USnews (US news only), r/asia, r/asian, r/asean, r/theworldnews. This list is not exhaustive but please use common sense and make sure the content fits the target sub. That means news only goes to news-related subreddits and pictures go onto picture-related subreddits. Make sure to follow the rules of those subs as well, since each sub has its own set of rules.
Additionally, give some love to the other Myanmar subs: r/saveMyanmar and r/Myanmar2021.
Are you in another country but wish to help the people of Myanmar? See this post.
In summary,
DO
DON'T
Thank you. / ကျေးဇူးတင်ပါတယ်။

Hi i'm 20F and I live under very strict conservative controlling parents which means they take away my electronic devices every night, don't let me go out, don't let me have friends, don't let me talk to strangers online and go through my phone and stuffs. I'm currently trying to study abroad but they haven't said anything explicitly that they'll provide me or when do I go.
I do try to keep everything okay but everyday I feel suffocated and all I want is freedom. Ever since I was a kid, I have been struggling with social anxiety because of them not letting me even talk to strangers. I want to be independent; I want to live in a small apartment alone, have many friends, fall in love, focus on my dreams.
I had suicidal thoughts all the time but I can't give up. I want to breathe once without worrying about being scolded. I know it's not realistic to run away and survive alone in this country. What should I do? I have done IGCSE and GED and also japanese N3 level.

I am exhausted by the endless gender-war posts flooding social media in Myanmar. Most people miss the point. Here is my opinion:
First, yes, we must advocate for women against sexual assault and harassment. (FYI, I know the Yangon case wasn't that, speaking generally.) But blindly insulting innocent schools, uninvolved students, and accusing before knowing the facts was completely out of hand.
Second, it is not entirely wrong to say that SOME people including SOME influencers hopped on the bandwagon just for attention and likes without proper research since half of them didn't even care about countless past cases where nobody gave a damn.
Third, what's right and wrong? It is ridiculous how boys are spamming "chou ban has no right to exist" for example in comments just to mock women's rights slogans like "no matter what we wear, you have no right to harass us". That is so wrong. Women were protesting a serious issue, while boys are making fun of it. Meanwhile, others react out of exhaustion from "ALL men are like that" generalizations. Some girls think all men are the same and hate on them, those girls are wrong too. Just like misogyny, misandry exists. Sad but true.
SO MY POINT IS
Stop fighting for fuck's sake. Everyone with a brain knows rape, sexual assault and harassment are wrong. Brainless people will never accept that, so why waste our energy? Next time when you see someone with a different opinion of yours, even if that opinion is bs, leave it alone. Don't give it attention.
Online "speaking out" isn't stopping rapists and predators(in our country). The only thing that stops these animals is strict, enforced laws with severe punishments so future predators won't dare to do it. Online noise WON'T magically turn EVERYONE good. Ask yourself, do you really think you can enlighten a rapist with a post? Absolutely not.
Lastly, before any of you lecture me that "online awareness pressures societies to create better laws," let’s be real—we are in Myanmar. The military junta kills innocent civilians; there is no rule of law or accountable government that gives a damn about social media outrage or passing protective legislation.
Some ppl might come after me for my opinion but ok I had to say this. That's it. Thanks for reading.

Guys so I really want more people's view on this topic.
I still thinking that they are human and should treated as 1 but I have also heard how they would organize terrorist ground also and do crimes against our fellow burmese citizens. I get that our people get hurt too but I still thinking they should live as a person. Idk...? What are yalls thoughts?
I know it's been a long time the since the massacre and all that but still.

I was doing ok with cloudflare for both the PC and phone. A couple of days back, the one for PC suddenly stopped working. I tried changing the protocol, flushing the dns, uninstall/reinstall. Nothing works.
Things is, the cloudflare on my phone is working as usual (not on mobile data, obviously). I don't get how the pc one doesn't work while the phone one does when they're both sharing the same wifi. (well, the pc one uses Ethernet cable but one the same network). I'm using mytel fibre.
How's paid vpn situation? I saw some express vpn ads on FB, like 25k for a year or something like that. are they stable/low ping?

So I draw pretty well and I am in need of money urgently. I get commissions from local people, but it is nowhere near enough, so I want to open commissions to people from other countries too. Simply because I will get a lot more money, and it would solve my problems.

I also live in Bangkok. I have not necessarily seen Myanmar children in that way on Khao San Road or comparable spots. In my experience, I have noticed some Burmese children selling yogurt in their school uniforms at night. They are also usually with their peers or Burmese parents.
Is it true guys? If I encounter something like that, or suspicious something like that, what can I do to help?

We thought with the way things were progressing in 2013, by 2026 the country would be in a really good shape. This country had (and still has) so much potential. Who could've imagined things would turn out this way instead?
What a ceremony this was, I still get goosebumps watching this. I wonder how many people in the video still live in Myanmar.
I will leave you with more quotes from the Singaporean commentator, who was so impressed with what he saw.
"It's no doubt at all that everyone inside the stadium and I hope you at home have been really impressed with the color and the absolute dedication of all the artists, the creators, and certainly all the ambition of this country of Myanmar," he said.
"60 million population. It is a sleeping giant. It's just waking now. It's also, as a good day, the golden giant as well.
"A country rich in jade, precious gems and gold and oil and natural gas resources. Pagodas and temples are plenty. It's emerging, no doubt at all as a sleeping giant.
"Watch out for Myanmar in the future. Because it's discovering itself once again. We've just witnessed the rebirth of a nation on the international sports scene.
"And culturally, it is rich and has a wonderful, wonderful heritage, as we've just witnessed from the multi-ethnic societies that we've seen before us right now.
"Another spectacular item of entertainment, greeted with such enthusiasm. I repeat, nobody in the stadium will forget what we've just witnessed, and certainly none of the participants there in front of us will ever forget this moment."

I want to find the name of the Burmese movie. I don't remember the actors names , or the move name. I remember watching it on a physical copy disc, this move seems to be produced from the 90's to early 2009's.
The story I can vividly remember, is that there is a burmese old man which has a daughter, and the daughter is kidnapped by the enemy who is a Gangster organization. The old man needs to get his daughter back, so he hires 3 or 4 fighters. The fighter i remember is one has a sword, one has a staff, and the other is like a Buddhist monk. They meet in a field and show off their strength and powers. But they have to work together to go rescue the Old man's daughter.
Please let me know if you can think of any movie that may be the one of my memories!
