For a good part of my life, I was a unpaid caregiver for my mother and we lived off of her Social Security because I was struggling to find a job that would keep me home to look out for her. Unfortunately, not only have I lost my father to a house fire two years ago, but my mother lost her battle against Uterine Cancer passing away in her sleep on August 4th. Now I am frantically looking for jobs either remotely because I lack my own mode of transport, or in person work that is nearby me that is cheap enough for Uber.

So far I have been getting some family help with paying my bills for my apartment but now this month I've been slapped with a $437 and some change electric bill due to a security deposit being lumped into my original $159 bill because of my lack of work experience. And this eye watering bill is tough for a lot my family members to swallow and lend aid with. I've reached out and exhausted so many options before a gofundme. Everything from churches, to special programs, and even asking the electric company themselves for some kind of relief. And unfortunately a lot of the assistance in my area is only catered to seniors, veterans, or the disabled. And I am none of those.

I just simply want this huge bill paid and off my shoulders so I can relax a little better while I'm still on the hunt for some kind of job that will help me get on my feet and be somewhat financially stable. So whatever can be donated here will be of a huge help as it will be put towards hopefully laying this bill to rest.

hello everyone! so after months of being unemployed, i finally landed a really awesome job! since i just started, i haven’t gotten paid yet. my position requires a vehicle (which i thankfully do have!) as i go to different locations all over for community visits for parents/children. if i could take public transportation until then, i would. im requesting $30-$50 for gas money to allow me to continue driving for work and back home until my first paycheck hits. i dont have any family or friends to ask as its just me figuring this life thing out alone. i always give back and do what i can when i am in a position to do so and plan on continuing that kindness regardless if its extended to me or not. this help would be greatly appreciated! thank you so much in advance and to this sub and the people in it for all that you do!!!!

I'm on disability, I get close to $1000/mo. All of my money goes to paying bills. I have two people who depend on me to get them to and from work on almost a daily basis. One of them is my roommate who is also unfortunately tight on money to the point where she can't help more than she already has. After helping sometime last week she's basically broke for the next two weeks since she gets paid biweekly. The other she's already contributed $200 and another friend contributed $50. It also doesn't help that I'm on food stamps and have to wait as long as I usually do to get my groceries for the month, and I got that snap payment on the 7th, I haven't been able to go shopping since the car shut down, and been basically living off ramen and water for the past couple weeks.

The problem is my car's alternators are shot. The old one apparently was putting out too much voltage while the replacement we got isn't putting out enough voltage. It's going to take too much time to return the replacement to get a refund on the replacement which we spent around $160 to get. I'm currently left with $115.70 to my name. And to get a replacement alternator today would cost $335.39(thats including the core deposit charge). Leaving me needing $219.69.

I'm not sure if I need to specify what things I have that people could send to or donate to, but I do have Paypal and Venmo. I hope that I've done everything right, I've read the requirements and such.

If you need to know where I'm located I'm in the northeast of the US. And to be clear about the specified amount that I would need, it's $219.69. I talked with the guy who helped me put in the replacement alternator we got and he told me we could get one today but it'd cost $258.39 + a $77 core deposit.

Life has been hard and I've found myself in a hole I can't get out of. I'm working two jobs, but something constantly has to come up as a wild expense, and this last month I had to overextend to make rent.

I've already cut every expense I can manage, the fees, and interest, and overdraft charges make it so I can't even break even with a good paycheck. I'm drowning and just out of rope.

I am working, but find myself in a hole of credit cards and payday advances and overdrafted accounts.

Just one of these things off my shoulders would make the rest all manageable, I just have no means to make headway, by the time rent comes due I basically have to fall into the same trap to keep from losing everything.

My total is roughly ~1500 USD, but literally anything would be huge. Anything.

Hello! I feel really vulnerable posting this here but here it goes. My mental health has been in the toilet lately [several hospital stays and one 5150 stay] and due to that I was let go from my job. Because of that, money is super duper tight for me right now and im not sure if ill have enough food to get me through next week. I have AFRID, and because of that, going to the food bank is not viable for me because I have no control over what food they are going to give me. Rather than risking taking food from someone who would actually eat it , I made an amazon wish list. There are some pricier protein bars on there but those would be in replacement of meals. My 10 year pld son watched his Mom have a fatal stroke in front of him. He called 911 and stayed by her side in the hospital until it was time to say goodbye. He held her hand and sang to her while she passed. And through love, strength, and some therapy...has been able to keep a smile on his face and even help another kid in his school who went through a parental loss. Good afternoon! I’m struggling to finish paying off my rent for the month of October. I owe 265, before the late fees. Any money I make will go to that first. The problem is that I’m running out of food quickly, and I’m worried. I made an Amazon wishlist of groceries that would be really helpful to have. All of it is shelf stable. I’m in between jobs right now, even though I’ve been putting in applications and going to interviews. I’m getting leftover money in a few weeks from my student loans, that will help with rent. Thank you to all of those that assisted with the baby supplies and basics. It’s a huge relief to not have to worry about my little guy’s diapers or wipes this month. The baby toiletries and extra snack pouches are also amazing, he loves them. Someone even got us a second box of wipes, so they should last a while. I was very lucky to start a new job in a field I am interested during the summer. I love my job and I'm doing well, but unfortunately I came down with norovirus and have been off work for 6 days- including an outpatient visit to hospital due to dehydration. I am barely making ends meet when I'm on full pay, so I have been supplementing my income with evening shifts at a local restaurant, but obviously I've not been able to go into work there either.

This leaves me approx £500 short this month and I am panicking. I'm still unwell, and don't expect to go back to work until maybe the end of the week, when I'd have lost even more money. This is keeping me awake at night with worry.

I hate the idea of asking but I have exhausted all other means of help. I feel defeated.

Please can anybody offer some help? Thank you.

Hi! I have a sixteen year old daughter who is seriously a great kid. She’s always been top of her class and has continued that trend into high school despite taking challenging classes. She is independently successful - sometimes that means she is doing homework at 2 am but also she took a nap earlier in the day, and at least she’s getting it done? Gets up to her alarm and walks to school, makes near perfect attendance and always on time. Polite, respectful, kind.

She has two classes this year that have an AP exam attached and we have to pay for them. $69/each since we qualify for reduced lunch. I WILL make it happen regardless, but I thought asking for help towards it couldn’t hurt. I’ve been stressing and she keeps checking in to make sure I haven’t forgotten and I just can’t wait to get it paid and have that peace of mind for us both.

Why don’t I have the money available when it’s not that much? I work in public schools and don’t get paid over summer, I’ve only gotten one and a half checks so far and had to use them to catch up on stuff. I will have two more paychecks before the deadline but they are mostly spoken for with bills. Normally I’d DoorDash but my van got hit in a parking lot this week and now makes a very bad sound at every right turn so I’m trying to use it as little as possible.

I have Venmo, PayPal, Apple Pay, Zelle.. I am not expecting anyone to pay an entire test fee. I am just looking for any contributions to take down the balance for me to a more manageable level. I’m stuck in a hard place right now.

I work a job, nothing great, not bad. Usually I have enough money to pay my bills and have a tiny bit leftover for me.

Not this month. It’s the end of our work “season”, so hours have gone down from 60hours per week (nice OT) to 30hours per week.

Basically losing me $1200 last month. My company said they switch hourly over to salary at the end of season AND pay a bonus, so I was expecting salary pay for September and a nice bonus.

I did not get salary pay nor a bonus. I just barely scraped by.

Now I’m in the hole for $150 from car insurance payment overdrafting my account Friday.

I work hard. Have a decent little life.

But, I’m struggling and need help with $200 so I can bring my checking account current and put gas in my car to get to work (or find another job, but that’s another thing).

Please help if you can, and I always pay it forward.

Good morning, I know that asking for $1 probably sounds ridiculous, however, I accidentally over drafted my Venmo account by 85¢, and I am unable to add cash to the account until the overdraft is paid. It's the only form of electronic payment I have, and I use it to pay my bills. My electric must be paid on Monday to avoid disconnection, so I desperately need access to that account. Thank you.

Back in January, I left my abusive marriage. After years of being gaslit, verbally abused, and emotionally manipulated, I finally reached my limit and ended things. I have been trying to navigate our divorce, months of abusive texts and emails from my ex, and trying to restart my life among all of it. We hired realtors to sell our jointly-owned home. To help speed up the process, I moved out of the house into my own apartment, as our realtors told us they were optimistic they could sell the home quickly. That did not end up being the case.

Unfortunately, they ended up being largely ineffective at their job. Even though our home kept receiving positive feedback from potential buyers, the realtors could not manage to land a sale, even though other comparable homes in our neighborhood were selling for higher prices during this same timespan. We sat on the market for 5 months, and during this time, my savings basically dwindled. We have since switched to a new realtor, who is clearly much more competent. She is working fast with aggressive marketing strategies to try and sell the home soon, as she knows the financial situation is dire.

To help give me some stability in the meantime, I've decided to refund an old retirement account from a previous state that I lived in. There are only a few years of contribution in the account, and while I am unhappy that I won't be able to roll it over into my current retirement account, I need access to the funds now. The company told me that it will take 6-8 weeks for the refund to post to my checking account, meaning I have to find some way to bridge the gap until that happens.

I am trying to do everything I can. I've cut back on expenses, I'm going to start selling things on Facebook Marketplace, and I'm trying to look into gig work or contracting work to try to get money how I can.

I work in aviation, I blew my shoulder cuff moving a mobile bridge adapter and I’m already disabled. I’m currently going through Physical Therapy. I was supposed to get paid and didn’t get paid which shorted me for a move-in fee. I’ve been living in a shelter in Virginia and commuting all the way to DC via train and I’m super tired. This is my only opportunity to get housing after being scammed by my old apartment.

Hi all, my little dog has been peeing blood. We thought it was just stress from moving to a new home and life being chaotic. We took her in today expecting a $400 or less bill, but upon examination the vet found her bladder is full of bladder stones. Surgery will be $2900 and we are completely tapped out. We paid $359 for her visit, xray, antibiotics and anti inflammatories today, plus we are getting her prescription dog food, but the vet said these are just bandaids until we can get the money for her surgery.

I’ve never had to ask for help before, but between having to move in the last week and trips to a specialist for our son who has Crohn’s disease, I have to ask.

If anyone is willing to help, I would be forever grateful and will pay it forward as soon as we’ve stabilized again.

I am homeless but had been working until July 4 when I had a car accident. I passed out behind the wheel. Doctors still can not determine why but I am still going through more tests to find out. I am now prone to passing out keeping me from working. I have submitted the application and documentation for SSDI. I asking for $68 towards a night in a hotel so I can stay out of the rain her in VA.

I just started my job after almost of month of searching & I won’t get paid till Friday.
