Wanted to give a reminder and quick update on a few rules.
Picture posts need a location and a description. Doesn't have to be an exact address, but generally what part of Arizona it was taken in. This has been a rule for ages and was suggested by users to help combat picture spam ("Wow, check this out!") and balance the many weather and sunset pictures we get flooded with. Plus it helps people know WTF your post is about.
When we get a ton of posts on one topic we'll make a megathread and try to bring the conversation together. Don't take it personal. I know some people love a million pictures about monsoons or sunsets, but many don't and let us know all about it. A megathread is the compromise. We don't do it often, so please just use it the few times we do.
Any political posts (or politic adjacent, like Flock cameras and Data Centers) needs to be flared Politics and are limited to established users here. This combats trolls and bots.
Recommendations for local businesses are better suited for your local subreddits like [r/Phoenix](r/Phoenix), [r/Tucson](r/Tucson), or [r/Flagstaff](r/Flagstaff). The exception are posts about things to do and places to eat that may be of interest to other Arizonans traveling around the state. Roofing companies, massage places, and thrift stores are more of a local thing.
Posts shaming or calling out people or businesses are not welcome here. I get the desire for a good witch hunt, but it's too prone to hurting innocent people. News stories about issues are fine, this is just about posting pictures of people who pissed you off or a business that made you nasty cupcakes. We've covered this policy a lot but there has been a bunch of these lately. Maybe it's the heat making everyone cranky. Either way, this subreddit isn't your personal attack dog.
If you have any questions, ask away.

Election day is coming up, so we're creating a discussion thread for questions about the propositions or other items on ballots across the state.
You are welcome to share your views on any of the issues or candidates across the state.
Here are some links you might find useful:
Maricopa County - what's on my ballot
Also, check out the r/Tucson 2026 Election Megathread
If you have other links or info, leave them in the comments. We may add them to the original post.
Keep in mind that our political rules are in full force here, so only regular members to this subreddit will be able to comment. And any personal attacks on other users will result in a ban.
The purpose of this thread to to create a civil space to discuss the elections and trolls, fear mongering, or comments that offer little or no value will be removed.
Above all VOTE!

So I pulled an Elk tag for 22N( I think, not bothering to look it up at the moment), the area around Payson for the first week of December.
I've never hunted before, so I'd like to find a guide that can help me have a better chance at getting one. Any referrals to someone that guides would be much appreciated.

So my partner and I went down for emissions testing for her vehicle. We used to live in Yavapai and recently moved to Maricopa county so weāve never had emissions before and werenāt sure what to expect. My partner was in the driverās seat and had to get out while they tested but they told me I could stay in the passenger seat so I got a front row show to what they were doing/saying.
First when they started I was watching the screen and after they input everything for the car a pop up came up that said āMake, Model, and Year EXEMPT From Testingā. The guy doing it called over a supervisor who forced it to start the test anyways, thatās fine we arenāt bothered by that. But we canāt really figure out why the car failed.
The guy doing the test immediately grabbed this cord hanging and started jerking it around yelling āThis better not be the f***ing thing I have to plug into and test!ā He then called over another supervisor and asked about it. He said āI think thatās it but I donāt know manā and walked off. Then the guy doing the test told us that because this is hanging down he canāt test it so itās a fail. Then one of the supervisors there said āNo wait that doesnāt mean a failure thatās up to our discretionā the dude who was doing our test goes āI said it failed so it failedā then quickly added a different supervisor told him to say it failed so thatās what heās doing (THAT NEVER HAPPENED HE WAS STRAIGHT UP LYING).
So they said okay you failed go park here and come in the office and weāll tell you what to do. We go in the office and one of the supervisors who had been called over during the test and saw/heard what happened immediately says āSo because you have two of these OBD connectors and we arenāt sure which one to test we have to fail you and send you somewhere else where they can test you.ā
First of all, there is only ONE there is not TWO connectors. Second, I checked it myself afterwards and multiple techs checked around under the dash and confirmed this one hanging is the only one so that has to be it. I explained to the guy in the office āhey when we got the car straight from the dealership this thing was already hanging down like this and we were told it was fine.ā and he said āyeah itās not because itās hanging down itās because thereās two of them and we donāt know which one to test.ā Again. There. Is. Only. One. 3 different guys shoved their hands under the dash looking for another connector and confirmed verbally multiple times this was the only one. And now we donāt know what to do, by the time we got out of there the place they wanted to send us to which was down in Peoria and was going to close in ten minutes so we couldnāt get down there. I also checked the paperwork and on the back is says āThis vehicle has received a tamper fail status.ā We donāt know what that means or what to do now.

Iām looking for some recommendations for family to gift my toddler for Christmas instead of gifts. We currently have a zoo membership but it is quite far from us, we are in STV. What indoor play places or experiences does everyone love?

I took a picture of the flower initially because i just thought it looked nice, and then after i reviewed the picture on my camera, I finally saw the tiny little critters. I didn't even see them at all at first with my naked eye

I have decided to hire an Airstream and visit a friend who's in Coolidge Arizona only for a short time window. I may just park up on the side of the road somewhere and look at the sunset. Does anyone local have any recommendations for spots nearby - but outside your normal tourist bubbles? I'm particularly interested to get the view of a local who may see Arizona and all is beauty through a different lense to my rose-tinted glasses. Thanks.

I'm on week 11 of looking for a new job and have filed my weekly claims since July. My case status still says Active/Unresolved due to my severance pay which I received last year and has been gone since March. I can't get through to anyone by phone. I've filled out forms on the Ombudsmens page and still not a god damn peep from them.
UPDATE: After filling out the complaint form and emailing my state senator I got a call from them yesterday. They're not sure why the severance pay was tagged as an issue but they marked it resolved and I got paid today for all the past claims. Thanks for all the advice.
