QUESTION Would you deliver or rts this guy

Post image
98 Upvotes

There is a box on the other side of the driveway but it’s just a home depot tote and not even a weather proof one. No signage anywhere near the “box”. My first thought was mark it unsafe and rts it. Second thought was to launch it at the empty Amazon box sitting in the yard about 10 yards behind the sign. I did put it in the tote because this guy is for sure a complainer. It took everything in me to do so though.

AMAZON DRIVERS HAVE HAD ENOUGH!
📦 400–500 packages. ⏱️ 20-minute loadouts. 💧 Rushed just to grab water. 📢 Yelled at by Amazon warehouse management while trying to load our vans.

WE ARE DRIVERS, NOT ROBOTS! ✊

📣 TO AMAZON WAREHOUSE MANAGEMENT:
We demand RESPECT! Stop rushing us, yelling at us, and treating drivers like numbers. We deserve enough time to load safely and get drinking water.

📣 TO DSP OWNERS:
✅ Respect your drivers!
✅ Follow labor laws!
✅ Provide proper uniforms!
✅ Maintain SAFE, CLEAN vehicles!
✅ Set REALISTIC return-to-station times!
✅ Respect our legally required breaks and meal periods!
✅ Provide fair holiday time-off opportunities!
✅ Respect and fairly handle our PTO requests!

What’s the point of time sensitive deliveries if the itinerary just ignores it?

• Upvotes

There was a school on my route yesterday with the time set for 8AM-4PM. I got there around 5ish. I said maybe i was behind, I did take a lunch. But for my very last stop of the day, it was for a business set for 9AM-5PM. I got there at 8:30PM. How could I have ever possibly make it to my 200th stop before 5PM starting at 12:30? The app itself said I should be done around 9:30. Like it just said fuck that time lol

QUESTION Interview at someone's house.... Should I be alarmed?

Post image
77 Upvotes

I'm a 25 year old woman so this is a bit unnerving. It's a group interview, but still...... What do you guys think?

Edit: I'm going to bring a pepper spray, share my location with a couple people and have my dad on a call muted. I'm kind of going for the plot at this point, but I agree that this does kind of say something about how my experience working there will be. I'll keep y'all updated 😛

Edit 2: I got spooked again and told the guy I'm open to a phone interview or a public location and that I'm going to withdraw if not. I've had some traumatic experiences with men and have seen enough true crime to know this is not safe. If this was a horror movie everyone would be yelling at the screen not to do it 🙃

Edit 3: He said no to doing the interview at a public location or over the phone, so I backed out. I put in an application for another DSP anyway 🤷🏻‍♂️ Weird as hell.

Dismissed - Is There Anything I Can Do?

• Upvotes

I have been with my current DSP for a month in the UK, pretty much had an immaculate scorecard. Done everything by the book.

I just got a phone call from my DSP saying that Amazon have flagged an age restricted item not being delivered properly (checking ID) and they are having to terminate me. I don't remember the incident but I always do the proper checks.

Lucky for me its a second job for extra money, but this seems a bit brutal. Can I appeal? They said I cant even apply for other DSPs going forward.

Amazon have thrown the book at me without the chance to defend myself.

is this a hot take? I prefer the rams over the edvs.

• Upvotes

hi I’m kit. Does anyone else just prefer the rams and the sprinters over the evs? they are easier to drive and I never have to worry about my ac or heat killing the battery on the drive, and I never have issues of getting too close to a curb when pulling into a narrow parking lot or driveway entrance since the evs are not very good at turning sharper turns

also the evs have a heavy door on the drivers side and it takes more force to open and shut them, can be annoying. On rams it’s very light. Also on evs I can’t roll down window on the right side but I can roll windows down on both sides for gas vans and feel that air.

Also, the evs I drive sometimes will say “cruise control unavailable, camera too blurry” and the rams never have that bullshit

Is this a hot take? People here told me they love the evs but I can’t make myself like them at all

Ford transit sliding door open

Do you have the Ford transits and the ram promasters? Do you drive with the sliding cargo door open? Just about every driver in my town I see drives with that sliding door open but from my understanding is that's not supposed to be allowed and that's a fireable offense. So why is it majority of the drivers here get away with it? Prescott valley. Being compared to those that do and being called slow.

Like, who the fuck is packing this shit at the fulfillment center? Do they just close their eyes and use the smallest boxes ??? Anyways thanks for coming to my ted talk

RANT Life is affecting work

• Upvotes

Title just says about it. Ive been working for 7 months and this last month I probably worked only…8 shifts. I’m supposed to work double that. I don’t blame my DSP for not putting me on a route as much, that month before and during I was going through it mentally, worrying about finances and my girlfriend and what I would do with myself. It bothers me so much that at work I end up forgetting to focus on work, I’m too busy thinking about the argument I’m having with my girlfriend or if I should do school or if I’ll ever be able to save enough money for…I don’t even know anymore. I tried so hard last year to get a job and now that I have one I can’t even hold it down because of my girlfriend it feels like, blegh well that’s it!

RANT I hate apartment buildings

Post image
91 Upvotes

I have only been working for a DSP for about two months and have been pretty happy here. I get to work a few days a week and bring in extra money for my family and take a break from being a stay at home mom. It hasn’t been super stressful even with a lot of stop and I’ve been mainly sent into the country where each house is two minutes apart and I have to drive far for most of my day. Yesterday I was sent into the city and had 149 stops with 70 multi stops. Honestly this shit is ridiculous and yesterday kicked my ass. I’m mainly here to complain about fucking apartments. I had 8 stops at one 4 complex building and my route made me go into one building and then go into another building and then BACK TO THE FIRST BUILDING. WHY NOT PUT ALL PACKAGES INTO ONE STOP PER BUILDING. I’m honestly super pissed off with how the routes are put together. Anyone else have experiences like this?

1st nursery route, a personal report. How was yours?

Post image
• Upvotes

newbie, been stalking this sub for a little awhile, so hello. I did my ride along yesterday and it went well considering the bad weather delays. Set us back about 2 hours.

My trainer was great and I seem to work for a good DSP. I’m familiar with this kind of work btw, so I did ~30 per hour.

122 stops and like maybe 13 OV? Don’t remember OV number exactly. Oh and “I brought 200 smiles to customers today.” lol

Day 1 body pains are minimal, but was just my first day yesterday, and second day will be tomorrow. Mostly my knees are aching plenty, and I tried doing the 3 points of contact but would forget. Will get some knee braces. Also, I drove the CV.

How was yours?

Health Insurance

So my husband works at a DSP here in Indiana. About 2 years back we attempted to get insurance but for a family it was over $700 biweekly.

He's been asking since October 1st about it and no one knows anything. He asked again today and they say it's the last day to sign up! LIKE WTF. OK, so we find out they sent the email to his old email. I find it (sent Sept 30) and get logged in. It's literally telling us we don't qualify because we haven't had a qualifying life change. Freaking frustrating. So I'm sitting here trying to figure out if it's too late or what. I've never seen sign ups cut off this early. Usually they start in mid-October. I know we arent even going to end up getting it because there's no way the cost hasn't gone up, but I need proof of the cost to see if I can even qualify for the ACA.

Has anyone had this many issues? I've never seen a company not even bring up insurance sign ups at meetings or anything.

DISCUSSION 8 hour routes?

My station is going to have 8 hour routes and you need to finish in 8 lol. Yeah, right, more like 9 hour routes they want you to finish in 8. Just an extra shift in the week... any body else?
