Hello everyone, recently I got the murderwing kill team and wanted to convert them into word bearers.

I really wanted to push myself to make something I was really proud of, and so far I am, there’s just a couple problems: it’s not as dramatic as I’d like (I know it’s unfinished) and it doesn’t give word bearer as much as I’d hoped.

What are some things I could change/lean into to make these guys “pop” on the tabletop?

Also any base ideas are welcome too!

Thank you

The combat patrol mag has reached chaos, and who is more chaos than Word Bearers?

As is tradition, throwing myself on the sub-reddit to judge my red.

Attempted some OSL with a makeup sponge. I'm not sure how I feel about it yet...

In the past I really enjoyed following the adventures of Marduk especially when he had Slaanesh literally coming through him. That was a wild read!

Is there some good books or lore sources around other Dark Apostles and the Dark Council?

I really like when it talks about like mysticism type stuff, esoteric rituals, again when Marduk was doing all the various things before they did the ritual ending him and resurrection on him.

That kind of stuff is peak for me.

Finished my first full heresy squad based on some test models I posted previously. Had a lot of fun bringing it to completion but it was a challenge still being relatively new to barrel drilling, freehand, and sculpting with the parchment and seargant's book. The goal was to bring to life the artwork of the early legion while developing my own homebrew chapter.

Hey all, so fairly new to Horus Heresy and looking through Wahipedia I was wondering how well Ashen Circle are on the table?

Kinda comparing them to Elite Assault squads and them only being one wound each aside they seem overall better but wanna know what more experienced players think.

Many thanks.

Ive come to realize that Word Bearers detachment is not even in our own codex. Being able to run Daemons with working army rules AND still able to darkpact AND giving my space marines deep strike is too cool. This is the list im bringing to my league l. Are any you Shadow Legion killed yet?

I thought my fellow Sons of Lorgar would appreciate this lore blurb

That bald guy with the face tattoos really has a way with words.

They won’t be winning any prizes and a little bummed to see the homebrew go but I’m pretty happy I switched to word bearers lol.

I’m especially happy that the green lenses I spent way too much time on for each model don’t show up on camera unless it’s poking a model’s retina 🙃

When I saw the Tzarketh Bane of Law kit I thought his book and staff were some great word bearers styled bits to put together a chaos sorcerer. Finally put it together using an Armageddon librarian along with some bits from the Chosen and Legionnaires boxes.

im curiouse if theyre suposed to represent any subfaction or person or if theyre just a different option

Really enjoyed the whole process on this one!

I've been learning more about Wordbearers, recently finished Acolyte 📖 am yet to read First Heretic and more of HH; I'm aware Colchis was their Homeworld, and now that Sicarius is their new 'homeworld' within the eye of terror/warp.

I believe they are also inspired by ancient real world mesopotamia, so lots of justification for Cuneiform, obelisks and ziggurats, stone/middle eastern architecture.

Please share your own basing, ideas and inspiration; I'm trying to slowly come up with my own recipe and am looking for inspiration :D

Hey all! I’ve been working on a new portfolio for most of this year and I’m finally starting to release it all.

Here’s my Word Bearer, I really tried to lean into that creepy, egotistical, smug vibe with this one. I really love the Sons of Lorgar for the fact that they are the only ones to truly embrace chaos for the love of the game. Others may have done it for power and glory or just have been tricked into it, but they welcomed it with open arms knowing full well what it was. I wanted to depict the absolutely sinister presence I feel they should give off, I hope you like it!

I'm starting a small word bearers collection and I'm wondering what the people that play recommend. Im getting the chaos half of the dark vengeance box from a friend of mine, except the helbrute, and im not sure what to get to fill it out. Im planning on just starting around 1000 points for now. Thanks
