Totally forgot I wishlisted this LOL
So i finally got it spun up and WOW this game looks gorgeous. (PS5Pro here)
It took a while to get used to the control system (which i feel is fed from Marvel Spiderman which i guess is no surprise) and the combat itself, while basic, is still pretty satisfying.
Then i get to the Omega Red battle and realise how limiting the tactical play is. its mostly dodge dodge, counter so not especially groundbreaking (but It did take me an hour to finally figure out how to finish OR. )
I think this is an AMAZING game but I think (unlike Spiderman) you only have so much flexibility / diversity in a game based on Wolverine. End of the day he's a Brawler. No batman gadgets, none of the fluid agility fighting of a Spiderman. Its a one of the reasons I think games like Ultimate Alliance depicted Wolvie so well cause his sweet spot IS a "tank/support" character
I havent gotten through it yet but writing on the wall gives me the impression the campaign story isnt going to be near as robust as (again, i reference Marvel Spiderman) simply because the Logan character is best at what he does, but EOD there are only so many ways you can kill a man...its limited. Not exactly one dimensional but when you get off the comic page, there is only so much "Be the wolverine" immersion you can cram into a video game.
Example: If they were to make a solo game about Drax or Gamorra or even the Hulk, we'd have the exact same problem.
