With Unlimited coming to an end it is perhaps hard to tell right not sure, but right now I'm watching the whole Marvel movies/series in chronological order.

I would love to do the same thing with the comics. Is it difficult to do that with Unlimited..? I have read that there are ''guides'' that will help you through that process. My question is how complete is the guide. Will there be missing comics like Spiderman comic 1,2,3, 4 is missing, 5,6,7 is missing.

Thank you very much

After reading all the comments, I want to clarify something.

I don't know anything about comics. Thats why I thought it would be for the best to start at the beginning and make my way through all the marvel heroes.

From what I have read that is not ideal.

I am a big Marvel Champions boardgame fan and Marvel Champions is based on the comics not the movies as far as I know.

That's why I would love to know their characteristics, history , fighting style , persona of every hero, villain and ally's. It would make the game come to life more.

I just had a recent desire to start reading X-men starting with Claremont’s run and since I don’t normally read comics I never really used marvel unlimited too much and I think cause of the app being sunset I’m not able to read anything is there some way to start reading right now and I don’t really want to wait for a new app to come out or whatever ?

This month I will buy a nxtpaper to read comics.

I would like to take advantage of the 40% off.

But I couldn't find when the discount expires.

I admit I know squat about how this works but is there a chance some of the holes in runs (especially older comics) will be filled? Like maybe Webtoons owns other comic/character licenses that would carry over?

Is it too close to sunset for Xmen midnight to be on there or??

Do you think that there will be a black friday promotion like every year for the new comics app ?

Do you think that I could get a refund for the Founder offer of the new marvel webtoon comics app if I don't use the code and I ask for the refund ?

Hello, when I opened the app today my entire library was empty and now I can’t open any of the comics.
Does anyone know if there’s a way to get it back?

I was on a one month free membership and reading on my iPad, I just saw that it’s being discontinued but is there any way to get my library back before that? Or at least upgrade to a full subscription to continue reading till the app is gone?

Please, I just got into the x men comics, don’t take it away from me now 😭

I tried loading up the 2000s Ultimate Spider-Man #1 today and it wasn't in the right spot on the series. Instead of being first, it was right after #100. Clicked on the comic and it was in Spanish? So confused, can anyone help?

I sometimes use the web version of Marvel Unlimited. (My desktop computer is faster and has a much bigger screen.) I asked if I'd still be able to do this. Here's the answer I got, with the important bit emboldened:

Thanks for soaring over to Marvel.

Marvel Unlimited will sunset as of November 16. Marvel’s licensee WEBTOON is operating a brand-new Marvel digital comics app called “Marvel Comics powered by WEBTOON.” It features the same great Marvel digital comics found on Marvel Unlimited, rebuilt for an even better reading experience. When that application launches, you will be able to read comics both via the WEBTOON website and Marvel Comics Powered By WEBTOON application.

Hope this helps.

Where I can read collected editions of many titles including event books

The fact collected volumes will still be missing from the webtoon app is more than a little disappointing

Kinda silly question but will the new app still have the smart reading feature? It’s really the only thing about the current app that I like.

So for some time now I’ve been working on a blog focused on curating issues on Marvel Unlimited. I launched the original version back in 2010 that (outside of a COVID lockdown driven frenzy in 2020) hadn’t been updated with any regularity since 2013. However more recently (2022) I’ve been working behind the scenes on a relaunch of sorts where I was breaking the issues down into a series of ‘sub’ sites based by decade (1960s, 1970s, 1980s, 1990s and 2000s) as a way to hopefully streamline the reading process by directly linking to the issues themselves onto one page (or pages) instead of figuring out the app or flipping back and forth through some other text based reading order.

Obviously the news of this past week has put a wrinkle in my current plans, but I figured I’d post what I’ve done so far. The sites aren’t nearly as complete as I’d like; I probably had a few more months until I would have been ‘done’ with cataloging the issues of the 2010s and finalize posting those archives. All of the sites themselves all pretty drab on an aesthetic level. There are definitely other things I would have liked to improve, but I guess we’ll find out if I can even implement them with the MU sunset.

There’s about month left until the full transition into Webtoons invalidates these pages, so I might as well as see if anyone finds these current versions any good. I have no idea if the new app will allow the option to directly link to individual issues, but if they do, I wouldn’t be against going through each issue all over again if there was any interest. At the same time, if these sites aren’t any good I would also understand. I would love to get some feedback. Good, bad, indifferent…I’ll take it all.

The FAQ says:

"Existing members as of 10/5 will have their library access continue for Marvel Unlimited – free of charge – until 12/7/2026, with opportunity for Marvel Unlimited subscribers to import their libraries to the Marvel Comics app following the launch on 11/16."

I'm just confused since my subscription only ended on Oct. 7, but I still can't access the issues now despite this "free of charge" promo... It just show me a locked icon and a pop-up about the app being sunset. I still can access the comics I got from codes online tho.

What to do?

Edit: They finally sent me an email 🤩 My access is now restored until December

I was at New York Comic Con today and was able to check out the new app. Here's the tl;dr: Greater restrictions on account sharing + offline downloads overshadow some new quality-of-life features.

THE SAME: Overall, most things looked and navigated the same way (e.g., controls, smart panel, buttons). If you are used to Marvel Unlimited, it will mostly feel like a refresh rather than a totally different app.

THE GOOD: The app was much speedier and things were optimized (e.g., slicker buttons). The coolest navigation change was being able to swipe through older and newer issues faster. I often flip back issues to jog my memory, and it will be easier now with the new app.

The new app also has more Netflix-style reading recommendations (1.jpg), 2). I didn't see any space for user-created reading guides yet, however.

And finally, I could see what issues were releasing soon, and when.

THE BAD: Like Netflix and other video streaming services, Marvel will be cracking down on shared accounts. Each account can now only be registered to 4 devices at a time.

Downloads are also restricted. Downloads are now only stored for up to 1 month at a time, compared to the indefinite period you could store them on Marvel Unlimited.

I've been an on and off Unlimited user for a while, but have never used Webtoon. For those of you who've used both, what features does Webtoon have that Marvel Unlimited does not?

Eh nothing special but still cool to have I guess

In the FAQ they state "Existing members as of 10/5 will have their library access continue for Marvel Unlimited – free of charge – until 12/7/2026", but since today I am unable to access the library.

I was an active annual subscriber on the 5th, it lapsed on the 10th (today).

I tried raising a ticket but it's not working, page is just spinning after submission. Is anyone else having similar issues?

Does anyone know if you can use the new app on fire Tablets?
