Question Lost interview?

I specifically remember McKnight was interviewing Vasil and he's holding Acuña and said he was gonna have Acuña bite Davis Martin. It's seemingly nowhere online so I'm posting to see if someone somehow has it or at least confirm they saw it too , imo it's too funny to be lost

Discussion Does it make you feel better…

Do you think us getting eliminated will feel better if the Guardians win it all/make it to the WS? As in, we lost to the eventual winner, therefore we probably had no chance in hindsight?

Alternatively, is there another narrative that makes the loss easier for you?

Original Content Thank You! And my fave 2026 regular season stats

Although it didn't end how we wanted it, I'm still so grateful for the magic we experienced this season. I'm a lifelong Sox fan, but I really got more into the sport about 2 years ago. The White Sox brought me so much joy in 2026!

Here are some cool stats I noted for the 2026 regular season. Which stats would you add?

  • only team this year w 3 players hitting 30+ HRs (Mune - 35, Miggy - 33, Colson - 31)
  • Miggy became the first White Sox player to hit 30 doubles, 30+ HRs, 200 runs scored, and 20 steals
  • 2 players hit HRs in 5 consecutive games, matching franchise records
    1. Mune - April 17th to April 22nd
    2. Peters - August 22nd to August 26th
  • Peters hit for the cycle (July 10th), becoming the 7th White Sox player to do so
  • 11 walk off wins, by 8 different players (Peters x3, Quero x2). 11 walk offs this tied us for 3rd highest in the league
    1. April 3rd vs Blue Jays (Peters)
    2. April 29th vs Angels (Colson Montgomery)
    3. May 17th vs Cubs (Quero)
    4. May 29th vs Tigers (Miggy)
    5. June 10th vs Braves (Braden Montgomery - in his MLB debut!)
    6. June 22nd vs Guardians (Antonacci)
    7. June 27th vs Royals (Gonzales)
    8. July 29th vs Yankees (Quero)
    9. July 30th vs Yankees (Peters)
    10. August 21st vs Mets (Rogers, after playing for 4 teams in the span of 21 days)
    11. August 23rd vs Mets (Peters)
  • 3 players sent to the All-Star game (Mune, Miggy, and Peters), where Miggy hit a HR. He's only the third White Sox player in franchise history to homer in an All-Star Game
  • 1 inside-the-park HR (Antonacci, April 21st vs Diamondbacks)

Shoutout to Baseball-Reference.com, where I double checked many of these stats. I'll improve my tracking spreadsheet to be better prepared next year!)

Discussion The biggest contract to a pitcher in White Sox history is Liam Hendriks, 3 years, $54million. Do you think Reinsdorf will let the FO sign a big named pitcher?

Pretty much in the title. Jerry notoriously doesn't like giving out big contracts, especially to pitchers. It's completely embarrassing that $54million is the biggest contract to a pitcher in team history.

This team desperately needs starters. Payroll is very low, and there may be a salary floor. Will Jerry allow Getz to sign a big FA? Skubal is out there... I'd rather sign one big name than three guys to $10-15m annual deals.

What do you think will happen? Will Jerry finally let the front office spend big on a pitcher, or will he keep forcing them to compete "his way", which is with small contracts only.

Discussion Thanks '26 Sox for making baseball fun again!

I grew up with the White Sox in the late 90s and was an early member of Soxtalk.com if we've got any folks from the old days over there here on this sub now. Through all the tough years, the losses, the huge wins and the World Series in 2005 - I was ride or die. So many core memories revolve around the Sox. But after Hawk retired in 2018, my interest waned. It's funny how much the voices who call the games impact and shape your entire experience - especially when you can't get to the park regularly.

Maybe it was that coupled with my childhood heroes all having retired, there not really being any core superstar on the roster to replace them, consistently terrible ownership and front office decisions, or just me getting older - who knows. But maaaan this 2026 White Sox team made baseball fun again. This was the first time I'd watched White Sox games in years! Going from three 100 loss seasons in a row to the second round of the playoffs is nothing to sneeze at, and they should be proud of the season they had. It was really fun watching these kids actually enjoy the game - something so many pro athletes and teams are missing. Brought back all those memories of having played ball in high school.

Thank you, 2026 Chicago White Sox! Here's hoping it's the start of a new chapter. I'm skeptical, but open to hoping again for the first time in a while 😅

Opinion This year was my first year as a baseball fan. Thank you guys for such a fun first season.

Two years ago, I visited Chicago for vacation, where I have no ties. I just wanted to see a place I’d never visited. I absolutely loved the city and bought a White Sox hat as a souvenir since it’s such an icon from Chicago and objectively their best sports logo. I wore it but knew nothing about baseball.

Fast forward two years (March this year) and I see that there’s this event going on called the “World Baseball Classic”. I enjoy the Olympics, so I figured I’d watch this too since it was available, and I come to find out very quickly that I actually really enjoy watching baseball! Realizing that pitching is more than just throwing a ball and batting is more than just swinging as hard as you can may seem obvious, but it had been years since I played baseball as an 8 year old so I hadn’t really thought about it, but I found it to be so cool how it was a display of both athleticism and mental strategy.

So spring training started and I began watching several teams practice, including a lot of White Sox games since I already had the hat. They didn’t look like a particularly threatening team, but I realized I was more excited to watch their games than any other team’s. So I figured “well, I’ve already got a piece of their merch, and I have no ties to any other MLB team, so I might as well be a Sox fan!” And from then on, I’ve been rooting hard for the Sox, watching as many of the games as I could, listening to the games at work, and chatting with fellow fans on the subreddit and just really enjoying the fan base. Even when it was abismal in the beginning, everyone still loved the Sox and refused to back down, and I loved that energy. Listening to some White Sox podcasts made me even more excited for games and also all our young and new players. I brushed up on White Sox history and realized the organization as a whole has such a fascinating story as well.

It’s just been such a fun past few months, and I can’t wait for next season. It’s been a great run, and I want to thank you all for being a big part of why this was so fun, whether we were winning or losing. The Sox did better than I or anyone thought possible at the beginning of the season, and I hope they impress even more next year. Thanks again, and GO SOX!!!

Opinion Colson is getting unfairly scapegoated despite being one of three guys on offense who was a net positive.

This was a complete collapse top to bottom. Everyone in that locker room deserves some amout of blame. There is no sugar coating that. But to put the majority of the hate onto a 24 year old SS in his first playoff run with a .267 avg and .722 ops in the series is insane. Those are good numbers for a SS. There were three players on offense who increased our chances of winning this series per bbref: Vargas, Antonacci, and Colson. I get that the expectations for him are higher because he has performed like a superstar in the past, but acting like he is the sole reason we choked is ridiculous.

To me, if we have to put the blame anywhere, it should go on the veterans who have playoff experience and played the worst out of anyone on the team. The three players on offense who have played in a playoff game before, Grichuk, Bennintendi, and Pham went a combined 1-20. Not only are these wasted at bats, but these are the guys that should've been setting the tone for what is required to win a playoff series. These our the guys that should've been showing that we can't take the foot off of the gas for one PA. Instead they were setting the tone that it is okay to go up there with a terrible approach time after time.

Hopefully next time we are back Colson, Vargas, Meidroth, Teel, Braden, etc. will be those guys and will understand what it takes to win a series. I know this loss stings a lot, but lets support our guys who will be back (whether you like it or not) and have a chance to bring winning baseball back to the South Side.

Discussion Some way to thank the boys?

I know we're out and we threw it all away but this has been such an amazing season. There must be some way that we can thank the boys for what they've done this season, it all just feels so anticlimactic. I'm not talking about a parade or anything but something to thank this incredible group for the joy they've brought us all. When teams got back from the Soccer world cup they had heroes' welcome. May sound silly and unamerican but wish we could do more than just thank you posts on Reddit. Anyone with me?
