Solved Is this original art or is this renaissance?
Is this biblical? I would rather hang this up than skate if it is

I'm trying to identify a female artist/cartoonist whose work focused heavily on police brutality.
The most distinctive detail I remember: she used to portray police officers as pigs, but deliberately stopped because she felt pigs were lovable creatures who didn't deserve to be used as an insult. She explained this decision in an interview. Afterwards, she depicted police as brutish, bulky human figures instead.
Other things I remember:
The explanation above is a paraphrase, not an exact quote. Unfortunately, I don't have an image or a link anymore.
Does anyone recognize the artist or remember that interview?

Does anyone recognise this artwork? I came across the artist on eBay Australia sometime between 2000–2009. She sold original whimsical, slightly gothic illustrations, and I absolutely loved her work.
I was broke at the time, so I printed this image and framed it. 😂
I’ve been trying to find her again for years with absolutely no luck! Any leads would be greatly appreciated! ❤️

Hello everyone! I need help looking for a specific john wayne gacy painting. The painting had two clowns with good and evil painted on it. The painting also had a blue background and one clown was dressed in white and the other clown was dressed in a darker color. Please help me find it, I would love to get it tattooed! Thank you all!

I recently picked this Binaca advertisement up at a thrift store in the Seattle area. It was professionally framed.
I'm trying to determine authenticity on it. It seems like there's a chance it's an original, but want to be sure. Measurements are 39x55" (100x140cm), which my research shows is the correct large format Italian advertisement size.
It also appears to be backed, with just the slightest edge visible (see photo.) The back is fully plain. I've done my best to show the printing up close.
Appreciate any insight!

Found this piece of art in NYC that’s signed and numbered. My own research has come up with the most likely artist, Judith Yellin, however I cannot seem to locate a name for this specific piece. Any help is appreciated!

Hello, I found this piece from my moms place and was wondering if anybody could help me determine the artist.
I'm from the Netherlands if that helps.
Thank you for reading and have a nice day.

I've been trying to work out what this inscription says on the back of an old abstract painting. I'm fairly sure the upper writing is a phrase or title, with the artist's name written separately underneath.
The first word seems to start with TO, possibly TOM. After that I can make out what looks like G, U and maybe D/E. I've considered TOMGUDE, TONIGUDE or TONGUDE, but none seem to be actual French words.
I originally thought the last letter might be an X, but looking more closely, the strokes don't seem to meet to form an X. There's what looks like a dot above one of the letters and a separate stroke underneath. I also can't see a definite dot over what might be an 'i', so it's difficult to know exactly where one letter ends and another begins.
The second word on second line looks like it might start with a lowercase p and end in something like -tze. At one point I thought the phrase might read something like "Tomgude de pointze", but that doesn't make much sense in French.
The third line looks like Roman numerals, possibly XXXIII, although some of the strokes could be interpreted as ordinary numbers. So the year of the painting, could be 1833 or 1933.
The bottom line appears to be the artist's name. I can see several tall lowercase letters, possibly four, after the first character. My best guess is something like AULEF..
Interestingly, what looks like the crossbar of the A may actually just be staining on the canvas. When I zoom right in, I can't see a painted stroke joining the two sides, even though from a distance it looks like an A.
The writing is very faded, so I'm hoping someone familiar with old French handwriting might recognise a word or spot something I've missed.
Any ideas what this could actually say? The painting itself looks very very old, cracked and chipped paint.

I found this in a thrift-shop and was wondering what the name or artist was

This was my grandparents they lived on Cape Cod not sure how long they had this piece, unfortunately I don’t know much about it other than I believe it’s a fish and it was from an artist out on the east coast. The color photo was dated 1972, the black-and-white “61. We had it in our house growing up in the 2000s, unfortunately, it was lost in a storage unit in Northern Michigan possibly like 10 years ago just trying to see if I can find any information about the artist or the piece. (or of course, miraculously locate it lol!) thank you in advance

No watermark on the paper. Glossy on the front, plain on the back. AI thinks it's a photo portfolio proof of a mid-century etching, woodcut, charcoal sketch or mixed media. No google image match. The thrift store has a religious connection, if that's of any consequence.

I’ve had this in a box for years now. Finally got curious enough to dig into its history. Any ideas?
Thanks in advance!

I’ve been unable to decipher the signature-professionally framed and scored at a thrift shop years ago. The internet just feeds me ads so far, any help is appreciated-I just would like to know the artist of one of my favorite finds. Thanks for reading!

I was wandering around my local goodwill in Denver, CO when I happened upon this lovely find. It seems to be a pencil signed lithograph that was purposefully framed. The back of the frame is unremarkable but inside the torn paper on the back are the numbers "5597" and what looks like a "/c" below the numbers. Would love any information you might have about it.
Things I would like to know:
-1922 or 2022? (Based on date after signature)
-Is the place depicted an actual location on Earth?
-What exactly does the description and signature say?

I picked this up at an antique store a few days ago as I collect things relating to vernacular architecture. I haven’t found anything on the artist. Is it decor?
Thanks

Trying this one again as the more I look into it the more I believe it may be from the Francisco Matto 1911-1995. I found it at a local thrift store that tends to get high quality artwork..
The painting is signed Matto - It’s about 32 x 21, on a thick wood/composition board. Found other paintings of his on the same kind of board, almost the exact same weird size.
Looking at his other paintings, I found quite a bit of similarities with human forms / features being incorporated into structures, inverted figures and such. I also found street scenes of his with the same basic setup a road down the middle with buildings on both sides.
There are people worked into the buildings all over this one, too. The big pink/red shape on the right is actually an upside down woman, with her head at the bottom and legs going up into the buildings. Added a rotated pic so it’s easier to see. The left side is more orderly and the right gets more dream like... Looking at his earlier street scenes and where his work went later, this seems like it could fit somewhere in between.
And it’s signed Matto. Compared a bunch of his signatures and the M varies, but the odd A and connected TT show up a lot. The O looks close too. Put the comparisons in here.
I don’t have any history on it before I bought it. But the faces, street layout, figures, board, size and signature all seem to line up. I think there’s a pretty good case here.
Anyone familiar with his work see something I’m missing? Would like some other eyes on it.

Found at a Goodwill. Chat and Google didn’t really narrow it down. Gave me Mikel Nelson who is an artist but the style and work he was doing seems to be in a different realm to this. Also I don’t see Mikel in the signature. Going to hang it on the wall just wanted to learn more about it. I like the frame as much as the piece so it’s a win win. Thanks for checking it out.
