In need of course advice (econ/hist major)
I’m an econ/hist major who came in as an engineering student, so I’m playing catch-up on some requirements. I’m taking intermediate macro now, but in hindsight, probably should’ve taken intermediate micro first since I didn’t realize most courses above ECON 3022 require it, and I’m not taking micro until next semester.
That being said, since I’m econ/hist, I don’t actually have to take econometrics or methods (3032 or 3035). But taking one of those alongside ECON 3012 is pretty much the only way I can knock out most of my requirements right now.
I’m a junior, btw, and I’m trying to avoid a situation where I’m stuck taking two econ courses (an elective + ECON 3150/3160) first semester senior year and stressing about getting everything done.
So should I take ECON 3012 + econometrics now and knock both out, leaving myself with just one econ requirement for senior year? Or should I just take ECON 3012, skip econometrics/methods altogether, and deal with the elective + 3150/3160 first semester senior year?
I just want to play it safe and make sure I’m not screwing myself over, but I've also heard very scary things about econometrics lol
