I was at work this week and i overheard a group of people talking about “vintage” video games they’d played recently.

I’d actually just watched the second Lara Croft film, The Cradle of Life the night before (Why? You’re asking, it’s 2026! Why? I reply. Because it’s a fricking great film and will always be one my faves)

I wandered over joined in and made a reference to Tomb Raider and locking the butler in the freezer. AND NO ONE UNDERSTOOD. I asked what “vintage” games they were talking about. They were talking about games on the original DS… Specifically one of them mention Nintendogs and called it retro.

I asked if anyone had played any Sega or PlayStation One from the 90s. What was the response?

“Omg there’s a PlayStation ONE?” And “You had video games in the 90s?”

I learnt that I’m old.

I learnt that although I’m 33 and I feel like I’m 25, when you talk to a 25 year old they make you feel 50.

I also learnt the younger generation are a little stupid. Sorry bout it. But obviously. They knew there was a PlayStation three, four and five but didn’t realise there was a PlayStation one and two.

Side note: we found a floppy disk when clearing out the office and the intern asked if we’d “3D printed the Save icon”. 😂🤦‍♀️

I KNOW THERE ARE PEOPLE THAT TOOK GREAT JOY IN LOCKING THE BUTLER IN THE FREEZER.

Make yourself known. We may not be super young anymore. Yes we may have back problems and knee problems and hip problems and breathing problems and have a general f*ck you I’m over it attitude to the world.

But what we do have my friends. Is locking that helpful little bitch in the freezer. For no other reason that pure malice. It was a special time. And kids these days can’t take that away from us.

Guys I swear im trying ((I eventually figured it out))

I just finished Tomb Raider II and I tried to change her outfit on Croft Mannor. I changed some outfits and her hair started to do this. I tried to change the outfit again, upload an old save, change to Tomb Raider I and III, even delete the game (I’m on PS5), and nothing happened. Anyone knows how to correct this? It is so annoying to play like this, and I wanted to start Tomb Raider III.

Hey Guys, Im finally getting into Game development and Im using Lara Croft as a character study for developing future adventure games. In the upcoming weeks I’ll be developing Climbing Mechanics, and maybe some LAU style Acrobatics. I’ll keep you posted.

I’m very excited for LOA (despite some concerns I have regarding animations and hand-holding), but I think they should’ve remade TR2 instead. We already have 3 versions of TR1 with Anniversary, Anniversary Edition, and the remasters.

It would’ve been an exciting launching point for unified Lara. The original game is combat heavy, so fans of the Survivor games would be right at home with all the shooting. Classic fans would be happy to get a remade version of a fan-favorite adventure, and hey, with modern settings they could make Venice a hub-like area or something.

It’s even the game that started the whole “locking the butler in the freezer” thing which so many gamers remember.

I think it’s a missed opportunity. I know people will say “they’ll remake TR2 next!” but who knows if this game will do well enough to warrant another remake?

So like i played the game for a while and then i just didn't touched it for a good while, then when i came back i beat that witch and now am stuck here wondering if im supposed to have fire arrows or something since i dont have them, am i even meant to be here? I had already played TR 2013 on Xbox 360 and thought it was a spectacular game; right now I'm playing TRL, and from what I've seen so far, I find it very interesting...

Do you have any recommendations for playing this game and the other titles when I get to them?

With Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis on the horizon, how plausible do you think it is that we’ll get a new Lara Croft skin in Fortnite based on her unified design?

I’ve seen some speculation circulating on X, with some fans convinced that a new Lara Croft skin is practically guaranteed and that it’s only a matter of time before it’s officially announced. A lot of that confidence seems to come from the popularity of the original Lara Croft skin in Fortnite.

Personally, I’d love to see her updated look make it into the game, especially around the release of Legacy of Atlantis.

But realistically, do you think there’s a strong possibility of another collaboration, or is this just wishful thinking from the fanbase?

Took the plunge this weekend and bought a 3D printer. Whilst my SO has other home decor and functional ideas, I’ve opted for nerdy pursuits starting with these. I also found files for the OG Scion and The Dagger of Xian.

It’s TR-related, but maybe this isn’t the right group to post in. Any help and direction would be hot. I’m rubbish with matching paint colors. I want to be as accurate as possible to the game colors (minus the marbling effects). I know I could have used turquoise PLA, but I know I would have hated them in the long run.

Google AI suggested mixing several blue and green model paints together. Then spray with a gloss finish. Has anyone printed and painted these? What advice would you give?

Legend recently got an update for PS5 and it looks like they've made the resolution more clearer and less blury but the frame rate is still terrible and arguably worse :(

If they made Anniversary's resolution and frame rate good why couldn't they do the same for Legend?
