Science BIG! FDA requesting comments on T use in women!
federalregister.govThey're holding a public workshop this week and have put out a request for comments. They're focusing on menopausal women, but don't let that hold you back if you're not yet in menopause. They're finally starting to listen and this is our big chance to add our voices. Everyone please take a minute to follow the link to the comment form. It doesn't have to be a big epistle, just 2 or 3 sentences on how you're getting your testosterone, whether it's covered by insurance, what it's helping, etc. Thanks!

Does Anyone Else? Injection pain in thigh
I recently started TRT injections and i have soreness that feels like a bruise for three days after each injection in the thigh, regardless if it hurt at the time of the injection. There is no visible bruising. Am I doing something wrong? Do others have this problem? Any suggestions to fix the issue - tips for injecting or simply changing to another location?

Advice for Female SO Wife’s TRT Dosage question.
My wife(46) was on pellets but decided to go with injections due to scarring. She was prescribed 25mg/ml 0.08ml twice a week. I’m not sure how female trt dosage compares to male. Is this a good dosage or is this low dosage?
Thanks

I am having a hell of a time finding a pharmacy that will work with me and my doctor who is willing to work with me but never prescribed injectable T does not understand the doses for a female. I am so frustrated, please help!

Does Anyone Else? Anyone with psoriatic arthritis or any other autoimmune disease?
I’m just curious about people’s experiences with testosterone and inflammation from autoimmune conditions. Not looking for medical advice! Just collecting info on personal experiences.
I was diagnosed a couple days ago with psoriatic arthritis. I’m hoping it is mild enough that I don’t yet need to take immunosuppressants. I’m waiting on the doctor to interpret my blood work and imaging.
I’ve been googling a lot, as one does, and I found a study that low testosterone in men correlates with higher rates of psoriatic arthritis. It’s not enough to use TRT as a treatment for PA, but they’re trying to learn more about testosterone and inflammatory disease.
I guess I’m hoping that my TRT is helping to keep my disease mild, at least a contributing factor. I want to do everything I can to slow/stop its progression— I’m starting a GLP-1 in a few days because weight loss is definitely beneficial for that.
If you have an autoimmune disease, has TRT helped you?

For those injecting testosterone and estradiol do you do them same day or different? Is there any benefit for either way?

Does Anyone Else? HRT questionn!
So I made another post explaining how awful I am still feeling despite being on Estrogen and Testosterone creams as well as 100mg of Progesterone. I am fatigued, zero libido, and cycles feel like "period flu". My hot flashes ARE better than they were but still there.
I have a follow up soon with my doctor. I did get a blood test done. Numbers below are just for reference im not asking anything about that. I tested on day 1 of my cycle. My doctor did say in the past she treats based on symptoms, not labs.
My estrodial was 29.7. Progesterone was 2.0. Testosterone total 46.8. Free testosterone 3.3.
Again, numbers are just FYI. I am feeling like HRT worked the first 3 months for me really well. However, 2 years later it isn't doing much anymore. Thoughts/Opinions on what i should talk to my doctor about? Different methods?? Looking for some relief...

Advice for Female SO Testosterone poll, which application method are you using?
Thought this would be an interesting poll. Been browsing on here a while doing research for my wife. It seems the posts I read with the most negative side effects or no noticeable improvements are on topical and or pellets. I’m afraid most docs are unfortunately afraid to Rx testosterone injections to women so I have a feeling topical will lead in the results. Which method are you all using?
*** Looking at some of the comments, I should have been more specific. Testosterone cream should have read "Testosterone topical." So if you're using cream or gel select cream. Sorry! ***

Does Anyone Else? Stop all HRT except for TRT?
Just curious if anyone has stopped taking estrogen and progesterone and just stuck with testosterone only? Did it make any difference? I’ve been on E&P for almost 10 months now and T for almost 5 months. I just don’t feel great like I’d hope and often wonder if it’s E&P that are the issue and possibly the reason I’m not feeling any benefits from T yet. Everything is low…Motivation, energy, mood, libido, still have lingering muscle and joint pain.. I’ll be 51 next month and haven’t had a period since June. Last one before that was January so I feel I’m definitely late peri. Just can’t find a balance it’s so frustrating.

Discussion / Support Question on type of Injections
Hello I am lurking and planning on going on T for Perimenopause. I have my labs ready and have my first consult with Talon this week. May I ask you ladies do you do the injections like you would do with a GLP (Subcutaneous) or are you putting it in your muscle? The muscle freaks me out a little, hoping that Sub will be an option for me. I wanted to get some feed back on this. Thank you in advance and I hope everyone is having a good day so far!

Side Effects Painful sex
I’m curious to know if anyone has had the experience where they were having painful sex, (pain at the opening and with the walls of vagina, not with deep thrusting), and found that the testosterone was the cause?
I’ve been taking 10mg per week for a few years, but a few months ago I started taking it twice a week instead of once a week, and my levels went from around 100-170 to 190. I don’t have any other signs of high testosterone, but I can’t help but wonder if I should lower my dose to 8mg per week. My e & p are out of wack so I am trying to fix that, and I already use vaginal estrogen.

Experience Report Is this real life?
45 year old perimenopausal woman already on estradiol patch and progesterone for about 2 years. Added 1 mg T on Saturday. I feel so great that it seems like this should be illegal - feeling good from a controlled substance! I feel calm and happy. I have energy to workout. Is this how men feel all the time? Holy smokes.

Side Effects Test prop and hair loss
Hey ladies ,
I was taking 1 mg test prop sub q daily and stopped for awhile due to busy and forgetting. I started back on and have found I’m getting a reaction and no effect. Been advised by others it may be better to IM and go with higher dose which I wanted to try anyways as I am prepping for a cut. Trainer indicated I could go as high as 5 mg a day IM but need to take a DHT blocker or risk losing the little hair I have. Does anyone have any advice for which I should take ?

Dosage Ladies please help me understand starting dosages with T. Cypionate injections
Ladies I am lost in the sauce here. I am so excited about finally beginning T, but I am having a hard time understanding the dosages at all.. When I received my 1st package I confess I was so excited, I did not wait for my 1st video appointment to give it a go! I know, I’m a bad girl lol, I simply read what I thought was the dose on the vial. I believe its a 20mg/5mg vial and the dose said 24 units (insulin needle) twice a week. I “think” that equates to about 5mg a week? Anyway so I injected exactly that on the Monday before last.. then fast forward 4 days to my 1st appointment and what was actually my 2nd injection. The rep I spoke to said to ignore what the vial said and that I was only to inject 10 units twice a week (so less than half of what I used on the previous Monday). Does this seem like a super tiny/non physiologic starting dose, or is it just me not having a clue? Lol
The rep also told me that I’d stay at this dose for 6 weeks until I do my next labs. I did have a rudimentary blood test that basically just gave me my E, P, and T levels on the 5th day of my cycle (no free T, no shbg) along with TSH, free T3 & T4. My T is SOOO low.. a 12.. E= 48 & P=.9. Thyroid all in normal range. I am in peri & also already on the .1 E patch & take 100mg of P nightly.. Seems like my E patch may not be working so well on a side note?
Anyway Im so ready to get my energy & my drive back.. I just want to feel like my old self and would love to hear your opinions on my starting dose. Is 10 units 2x per week crazy low or am I just being impatient?
Thanks so much in advance to you all!

Dosage 20 mg per month
Hi all! New here. My doctor prescribed testosterone cypionate at a dosage of 20 mg every 3 to 4 weeks. Is this normal? A good starting dose? Testosterone level was 11, with DHEA of 34. also prescribed DHEA supplement. I have a felt a LOT better, today is week 3 just not sure if I should go ahead and take another shot or wait longer? Starting to have aching joints and more waking up in the night again.
Also I have 3 ml 25 gauge syringes where is 0.1? I don't want to take too much but seems as though many women here take 20 mg per week or more.
EDITED TO ADD: dosage is 0.1 ml out of 200 mg/ml vial, vial is 2000 mg/10 ml, adding to the post just in case that makes my dosage calculation wrong. Still seems like dose is too low and/or infrequent.

Does Anyone Else? Syringes
Where’s the best place to get syringes for test cyp? I know the tiny needles I have take some patience to get the oil through but you literally cannot feel them at all. Problem is, I only have a few more and want to order in bulk and not from my pharmacy. My NP hates prescribing injections— she’s a huge fan of compounded cream but I hate it so I need to find a place to get the syringes. My dose is tiny but I’d still rather build up from here than deal with messy creams.

Does Anyone Else? Anyone have opposite effect on cream T script?
I have been tired, low energy, and have been on T, 8mg, for last month. Haven’t felt the energy and I’m already gaining weight. No libido changes yet either. I know that may take a little time.

Does Anyone Else? Pre menopause on androfeme
3.5 years ago I had one ovary removed and life has been quite hellish for me. I’m 32 and woke up from surgery with zero libido, low energy, and much more - ever since. Even my post menopausal friends have had more libido than what I have had since surgery. I’ve had zilch.
I had a number of complications that went beyond just a simple ovary removal, bed ridden for 2 years from medical induced injuries. Plus plus a few other severe systemic issues.
I’m on my feet finally.
Now - the final part of my recovery.
I have finally got a doctor helping get my levels up in testosterone and return to a more normal and functional baseline.
Before surgery my baseline was high T for my natural life. Eg total was around 2.8nmol and no use of contraceptions except a trial stint as a young person - I decided not to continue with the contraception because i felt dysmorphic didn’t like how it made me sensitive and crying or the way my muscles “became girly”, turned out my natural T was absolutely not keen for getting suppressed by the pills.
My question is have others who are pre menopausal tried androfeme (without contraceptions ideally) . And what type of free t levels did you get from it? I started on 9pmol and haven’t been on androfeme for long but curious, and curious to know other women’s experiences.
My mind has been sharper clearer and my memory has been returning like it was prior to surgery.
I’ve actually got my libido back (hallelujah) and my muscles feel more relaxed than I have had for a long while.
My total T was 1.0 when I began the cream,
But my past natural history was 2.8 so “normal” vs “your normal” isn’t always absorbed well. Hence why it took 3.5 years to finally get me treatment !
