Would unnerf those Abilities without fully making the user unpredictable.

It would let Greninja turn back into a Water or Dark type, Cinderace turn back into a Fire type, and Meowscarada turn back into a Grass or Dark type. Would also let the dual types cycle between their base types, whereas the mono types would still be able to spam their main STAB without using up Protean or Libero.

Examples:

Greninja using STAB Ice Beam before using Dark Pulse to become a Dark type again.

Cinderace using Protect/Court Change before reverting to its Fire type to use Pyro Ball.

Meowscarada using STAB Triple Axle before using Flower Trick to become Grass type again.

This would make Protean/Libero strong again, no longer having to worry about getting stuck on the wrong type. Despite that, it would be quite balanced as you'd know the exact types your opponent can switch to, even in Closed Team Sheets.

A lot of the move distribution I based it on mons who can realistically learn these, not just giving them out to mons to buff them. Let me explain:

1. Screen Smash - my answer to inaccurate rock moves with wider distribution. It's a rock slide option without the flinch but also without the inaccuracy. IMO this isn't broken but i feel like it's a welcome addition.
2. Heat Treatment - Mystical Fire just doesn't cut it for me. I need a bit more oomf. This is extremely niche in singles though, you can literally use flamethrower, it's the better option. In doubles it's a nice clutch coverage for gard, Flash fire effect still in play so it doesn't heal your flash fire ally. My interesting niche with this is doubles magmar with eviolite and follow me support plus this.
3. Shock Therapy - An answer to no physical electric moves. It's physical so a lot of the learners are physical + the ones who learn heal pulse. Same with magmar, i like a doubles eviolite electabuzz follow me + this move. the good electric types have an option to use this if they don't wanna use volt tackle/zing zap/supercell slam.
4. Powder Storm - yk like a dust storm? anyways. Bug type hurricane. I nerfed hurricane's confuse chance for this move to 20 because sleep is broken.
5. Iron Brand - scald but physical, it's mostly on bad mons though! so it gives them some use.
6. Spirit Siphon - Ghost type giga drain. It's pretty inoffensive. You have to choose between the stronger shadow ball or this slightly weaker semi utility move.
7. Triple Breath - inspired by the greek legend of the hydra, i feel like there should've been a move for these mons to hit three times and have consistent multi hit damage ala twin beam, surging strikes. I feel like it's fair enough maybe slightly broken because of the random effect but it's limited distribution so that's at least keeping the move from being spammable by many. Edit: 10% proc per hit so 30% if all three hits connect, not 30% chance per hit.

I’m new, so I’d like if you could explain why it is so good or so bad as well!

I thought OG Mega Absol deserved something now that Absol-Z exists. I think it would be fitting to tack the Fairy type on and make Absol-M represent benevolence while Absol-Z is clearly more focused on the Death motif. Magic Bounce also always felt like a strange ability choice for Absol-M to be honest, and also the fact it didnt get the Fairy type is weird given its obvious connection to mythology and angels in general.

The idea for Altaria-M honestly came as I was using it in Champions. There were many times I wanted to be running a single move like hyper voice or double edge in the base form to get value out of its support moveset and Cloud Nine, but that makes it basically useless damage-wise unless you choose to mega evolve it to get access to Pixilate. Transpose may be busted considering you now get a Fairy type Draco Meteor and Dragon type Moonblast, but I think its conceptually interesting enough to include and I'd love to see how strong it would be in practice

In doing research, I came to the conclusion that there are no Grass type Sand Rushers (or Sand Rushers with decent Grass offense). Since one of sand's biggest weaknesses will always be Water, I figured Cacturne really does fill a proper niche. It was between Sand Rush and Storm Drain for ability changes, but I figured on moving my resoning for Storm Drain into giving it Strength Sap. Also Cacturne is really cool. I like Cacturne. Desert stalker cactus scarecrow, c'mon man. That's awesome.

Lugia gets:

Bleakwind Storm: First off, let's go with the most fitting move for Lugia.... which it doesn't currently learn, for some reason. Yes, I know it's Tornadus's move, but Lugia fits the whole "powerful wind attack" theme much better than Tornadus.

Electro Shot: While Lugia's stormy motif is normally related to just the wind, I don't think it'd be a huge stretch for it to have an Electric attack either. Besides, Lugia's SpA stat is way too mediocre for a Restricted Legend. It needs a way to quickly boost up.

Psycho Boost: And finally, to showcase Lugia's destructive nature, we have Psycho Boost as its last buff. It pairs well with Electro Shot, and will make Lugia a force to be reckoned with (especially in dual Restricted formats so it can pair with Kyogre).

Ho-oh gets:

Revival Blessing: Firstly, no, I'm not insane. Secondly, the Revival Chicken needs Revival Blessing. And let's be honest, it's a great move, but it won't make Ho-oh broken. With threats like Kyogre, Miraidon, and Shadow Rider running around, Ho-oh getting this buff would let it keep up, but would not let it surpass them in the slightest. You'd have to choose whether your Restricted slot goes to a powerful support Pokemon or a powerful sweeper.

The idea was to make mons that are viable in OU and are actually usable compared to their base forms, which are all either ZU or PU

Trevenant: Turns into a bulky sweeper, capable of healing up with it's powered up ghost moves due to it's ability. Obviously outsped by a lot of pokemon, but between sucker punch and it's bulk, it's able to do a lot of damage to most mons in the game. Hopefully makes it a viable mega.

Honchkrow: Supreme Overlord allows this guy to do much of what Kingambit does, except with even more attack and enough speed to outspeed quite a few threats. After a swords dance, sucker punch does insane damage to a lot of mons. It's balanced by it being not super fast and being able to be outsped and 1 shot.

Hitmonlee: Gains the dark typing which, combined with its ability, allows it to fire off 135 base power sucker punches. Hitmonlee becomes a digusting set up sweeper with bulk up or swords dance. It's only weakness is it's speed, 97 being slow enough that a lot of mon outspeed it, and will likely one shot it due to it's poor HP stat and quad fairy weakness.

Tropius: having, essentially, Tera Shell means that it can take any hit in the game, set up a swords dance and sweep, making it a very terrifying threat. Also allows it to switch into ice type moves without worry, or heal up tera shell with synthesis. Also also the dragon typing just makes sense, it's been established dinosaurs are dragons after all

Vikavolt: the only reason why im letting it have speedboost is that is doesn't get calm mind, nasty plot or tail glow to up its special attack and become unstoppable. Speedboost makes sense within it's lore of being insanely quick, and allows it to quickly outspeed a huge amount of mons and destroy them with it's stupid base special attack.

My take on a hyptherhical fairy type pseudo legendary pokemon. Considering the plethora of other dragon types, I thought that a fairy-type speculative legendary was long over due to the fact that we don't have a fire-type on either, so that was a definite bonus.Also inspired by Phoenix, sure we have Ho Oh, but you can never have enough of them

I'm a big fan of jimothy cool and I love the music he outs as background music and the melody I love the most is the one he outs at the end of every video but I still cannot find out where it comes from or if it is even a full song.

Does anyone know the title of the melody?

Mirror Assault is basically what the name suggests: mirror images attacking the target. The goal of this move is to give Psychic attackers a good physical move, while also letting them deal spread damage (which is currently rather rare for physical attackers).

The distribution of the move is shown in the image, although some other mons (like Lucario, maybe Greninja) could also be eligible for it. Personally, I think it's easier to counter than Expanding Force, since Intimidate users (with Incineroar in particular) are running around a lot nowadays. Whether the Huge Power Megas should get it is debatable, because I'm not sure whether they'd become blatantly OP if they get this move. (Medicham will probably be balanced, but I'm not sure about Starmie.) As for Mega Mewtwo X, I hope this will really improve its viability. It suffers a lot from not having strong STAB moves, so I think giving it Mirror Assault is deserved.

Let me know whether this move is absolutely bonkers, or is balanced enough to get added.

For the past few days they ve been building a custom mod that runs on a local Pokémon Showdown server. What's in it:

• 5 new types (Ether, Obscur, Ancient, Cosmic, Nuclear), with a full 23×23 type chart
• ~200 custom Pokémon, plus every official Pokémon from 420 BST up, all Megas and Primals
• 92+ moves and 26 +abilities with real mechanics — delayed-hit curses, a persistent oxidation field, a quantum field that fluctuates each turn…
• Every Pokémon gets 35 "secondary/other" moves and an extra ability for teambuilding variety
• A custom Dex and a damage calculator that both include the whole roster, with strategic analysis and 1v1 win-rate estimates

Currently, there are a total of 12 “regular” (no Legendaries, Pseudo-Legendaries, Starters, Paradoxes, or Ultra Beasts) that are currently banned to Ubers in their respective generations. They are the following:

EDIT 2: I forgot to include SV Archaludon, Sneasler, and Ursaluna-Bloodmoon lmao. Not that it matters since I don’t think they are anywhere near the most broken of the bunch.

The gameplay is mostly hazard then force switches/do a shit ton of damage with Swellow and Urshifu. With a pretty good defensive core of Skarm and spdef Jellicent, Stunfisk is there because, with his special bulk, he can tank any hidden power ice or water trown at him by the electric types that otherwise destroy my team and set up rocks, do great chip with earth power or paralize with discharge/thunderwave their switchin. Jellicent and Stunfisk are both special bulk since skarm has phys bulk to spare and both static and rocky helm counters most physical attackers. Cursed Body is broken and works on everything btw.

The bigest problem, as you might see is that I lose to preview upon seeing Hatterene. And idk if it's because i'm using it wrong, be it my set or my plays, but lokix isn't doing shit most of the time, unless he gets THE matchup. Is there any spinner that counters Hatterene that Would with good on my team? I'm thinking to put on a speed booster Iron Treads to keep a bit of the revenge killing provided by Lokix. Any other options or tiny fix i'm missing?

Hey everyone! Following up on my last DraftDex post, which was a while ago now, a lot has changed since adding Champions Reg M-A support, mostly thanks to feedback from people actually running leagues on it.

Here’s what’s new:

Champions & drafting

• Regulation M-B and M-C support, including their Pokémon pools and legal Mega Evolutions. M-C is now the default for new Champions leagues.
• Draft Megas separately from their base forms. Commissioners can enable this when creating a league or importing a pool. So one coach can draft Garchomp and another can draft Mega Garchomp, with separate prices and draft slots. Keeping them together is still an option (And my preffered way for draft leagues).
• Custom roster sizes: set a minimum and maximum anywhere from 6–12 Pokémon, either when creating the league or before the draft starts. For an 8–10 league, coaches can finish drafting at 8 or keep going to 10.
• Missing-pool reminders so commissioners know to import a Pokémon pool before starting the draft.

League & playoff options

• 14-team leagues with 13 regular-season weeks. Playoffs can be Top 7 with only the #1 seed getting a bye, or Top 6 using the existing 12-team league setup.
• Playoff reseeding fixes: the top seed faces the lowest-seeded remaining team instead of getting incorrectly paired with #2.
• Consolation options: a standard consolation bracket, a toilet bowl, or none.
• Schedule-aware playoff tracking: clinched/eliminated status, magic numbers, and bye clinches account for remaining matchups and the league’s tiebreakers.
• Matchups now open to the relevant week or playoff round, and signed-in users land on Matchups rather than My Team.
• Spoiler-free scores now cover playoffs too, and MVP tracking stops at the end of the regular season.

Fixes & cleanup

• Fixed score-saving failures and replay-upload issues, including playoff replays and handling forfeits/timeouts.
• Restored playoff results in the league activity feed.
• Fixed Mega information not appearing on M-C draft boards.
• Cleaned up missing/duplicate pool entries, form-name matching during imports, and missing sprites such as Mr. Rime.
• Fixed draft-order saves failing when teams were moved between occupied positions.
• Fixed commissioner/admin access issues, including the feedback page.
• Tightened checks around draft picks, trades, free-agent moves, and mock-draft access.
• Added database indexes and improved loading on Standings, Matchups, and My Team. Still working on performance elsewhere.

1. Spore definitely needs a nerf, as it currently centralizes the metagame and disrupts balance. 2. Recoil moves (such as Brave Bird, Flare Blitz, etc.) should still inflict crash/recoil damage on the user if the opponent successfully uses Protect. This would add a high-risk, high-reward tactical layer to the game and give Protect a much deeper strategic value against aggressive setups. Other than that, everything is perfect. Great Pokémon game!

So, an 'Achilles Heel' pokemon/spirit.

Best comparison I can make right now is Palafin but requires more effort, in a singles setting I'm sure you can pull off an awakening. Hopefully it's speed should keep it relatively balance when it does, as well as it's awakened signature move getting typically tanked by Flying and Levitating pokemon. I was also pondering having Absorb/Incarnating essence move be negative priority but that could screw it over more. So, it's hitting Ubers probably, at least OU.

But then there's doubles which, is another story entirely you have to wait 7 turns for base Slumbering Serpent and 10 for the Locus aspect.

Serpent is more well rounded and meant to be more self dependent with a reasonable (at least in singles) end game. Locus, has lower stats but more support versatility, especially its incarnate allowing it to be useful outside of its incarnating, but it takes much longer for it to incarnate, even in singles. But its incarnating essence move is much more of a net positive.

Body Text (seriously tho the six hundred character requirement really gets in my way).

My logic behind this is that Psychic Terrain seems to "warp" the ground to make priority moves miss the target. Since Flying types and other non-grounded Pokemon aren't affected by the ground, this "warping" shouldn't really get in their way, and should still allow them to attack grounded Pokemon by quickly swooping down to attack. Sorta. Am I explaining this right?

"But why would the Electric and Misty Terrains still work? My logic is that the electric terrain prevents sleep moves not by blocking the move itself, but by making the grounded Pokemon immune to falling asleep. Same goes for the Misty Terrain's sleep/burn/poison/paralysis/freeze/confusion prevention. The balancing reason is that Air Balloon Sleep Powder must never,ever,EVER become a thing.
