We have been coming to St. Augustine for years (from Orlando) and always parked in the lot behind the Columbia restaurant. The fee was always fair and the guy running the lot always did a great job directing people in and out. Well, we went back there about two weeks ago to see the lot had been bought out and now had hourly parking rates. First, the rates were astronomical, second we overstayed by 30 minutes and received a $75 fee in the mail. We did reach out to discuss the egregious price to which they reiterated we overstayed our time by 30 minutes and would be liable for the fee.

Safe to say, we will absolutely not be returning to this lot and I hope those reading this also know there are way better non-predatory options should you decide to enjoy St. George street.

For me, the whole situation has deterred me from even wanting to go back to one of my favorite places to make a day trip.

I'm going to ST Augustine for a Tattoo appointment soon and I heard you guys have great pizza. Any recommendations on the place I should go to?

Hey there! I’m looking to see if anyone is willing to let my family borrow, rent, or buy a formal vest and dress pants (in black) or a plain black tuxedo! We have been invited to something super last minute and don’t know what to do! I can send you my number if you’re interested in helping me out!! My son is 5’11 and he is 160 it’s normally a small or medium in men’s. I would really appreciate if anyone is willing to help a stranger out. Thank you!!!

Hi all -

I'm a filmmaker from Jacksonville, now residing in Brooklyn. And I produced Paula González-Nasser's THE SCOUT which opens this weekend at Epic Theaters, where it'll play once a day (usually as a matinee).

Paula and I met as students ten years ago at Florida State, along with much of our crew. While Paula grew up in Miami and works mostly in the film and TV industry in New York, her family moved to St. Augustine some years back, and she spends much of the winter here in St. Augustine Beach.

THE SCOUT was inspired by the years she worked as a location scout for TV and film, and follows the day in the life of a woman working this job - stepping into the private homes of a handful of New Yorkers and trying to balance the demands of her erratic employers.

The movie premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival in 2025 and was a recent New York Times Critic's Pick. The Playlist called it 'witheringly funny' and InReview Online called it 'a masterpiece... an immediate all-time great film on filmmaking.' We're excited to get to bring it home to Jacksonville, St. Aug, Tampa, and Miami this weekend.

It's a very small independent production with not much of a marketing budget, so letting you all know here about it is the best move we've got to get the word out - if it seems interesting to you, I hope you'll come check it out sometime this weekend!

Where can I get the best sourdough bread?

Staying in Vilano, we love the beach and swimming in the ocean. Where is our best bet in the area, Within a short drive preferably.

Hi all

Thinking about opening an account with a local credit union. Does anyone have any positive/negative feedback? I was thinking about Community First. Thanks.

GARFIELD MONDAY VET UPDATE! https://www.reddit.com/r/rescuecats/s/43tvhJke6x

Please share!! We can almost get Garfield the help he needs!! Garfield is still stable, I saw him right before I left to DoorDash (first picture in the grass) and his swelling had almost all gone down. I was very relieved at the moment, but still of course going to get him checked out.

We just fed him about 30 minutes ago, and almost immediately the swelling started to come back. (Second picture, it’s slightly worse than pictured) We are monitoring him closely, the swelling is not as severe at before yet, but it took about 2 hours for it to get that bad last night, so we will be watching closely and keep you all updated. We are now thinking it may be a tooth abscess or, god forbid, that a person hurt him. We are hoping that it’s just inflammation due to chewing and not needing anything further than a drain and antibiotics, but now, less sure.

Austin, and myself would like to express our deepest gratitude we truly would have been lost without everyone’s help. Now Garfield has a team of great people on Reddit praying, and sharing, and looking out for him.

Garfield has a post on [r/RescueCats](r/RescueCats) if you feel most comfortable with pledging instead of sending directly, they will do a lump sum donation to Del Mar for us to go there tomorrow when they open (not 100% sure they’ll be open tmrw cause it’s Columbus Day but I’m praying it will be, if not I will take him to another clinic that is open with the funds collected on GFM) I will link the Reddit to pledge here: https://www.reddit.com/r/rescuecats/s/10MmnQo9wM

Garfield’s Go Fund Me: https://gofund.me/9bbec8c67

If you would like to send money directly to my cashapp, PayPal, or my brother’s Venmo to expedite his treatment (less wait time and no fees) we greatly appreciate it, just send me a dm and I will send you the details.

I will keep everyone updated, I will send all proof of treatment and bills and money received. We’re monitoring him and if necessary we have a 247 ER a mile away that I will take him to if he gets anywhere near he was last night. (Last picture above)

Last 3 pictures are from yesterday, first two are from today. Will send more pictures as the night progresses, if a vet has an opinion or advice on care ,while we are awaiting the vet to open tomorrow, based on his look; feel free to share it

I know this post is long and my thoughts are a bit fragmented if you have any questions or want to speak directly please dm me or comment and I will do my best to reply ASAP!
