Hi, I've reached the Elite 4 already but I feel like my team is under-levelled. I'm just wondering what's the best method / best locations for quickly getting xp and levelling up my team? I've found all of the available rare candy so they're out of the question.

Where/how should I train? Any ideas? I want to get all of my Pokémon to the mid-40's at least in terms of levelling.

My team is in the attached image. If someone can give me some tips on the fastest way to level up that would be great, thanks.

I've got Lugia at Lvl 46 + Raikou at Lvl 40 + Feraligator at Lvl 38 but I'm wanting to avoid using my starter or any legendaries on this playthrough.

I’ve been hunting for shiny Lugia off and on for over a year now! I am trying to complete my Black 2 Pokédex and am doing it one generation at a time and shiny hunting the last pokemon I need from each generation. Lugia was my checkpoint for gen 2 completion so I can finally move on to gen 3. Any good nicknames?

Was gonna start a shiny hunt for Charmander. I guess I don’t have to wait 😅😂

Last time I beat an elite 4 was probably a decade ago. Really fun playing though the ds games as I fell off pokemon after gen 3 and picked it up for x/y and sun and moon, then dropped it back off. Never touched a ds pokemon game so these have felt like new games. Also been loving the pokewalker.

Im debating completeing a "pokewalker pokedex" as some challenge as I even went out of my way to get the old mystery gift routes. It was so fun using it to get beldum, dratini, and a torchic super early in my playthrough.

Barely scraped through against Lance. The 3 Dragonites are ridiculously hard. Really wished I’d levelled my pokemon up more and had more ice moves. But we managed to scrape through and secure the win. Playing this on my phone with the Delta emulator 😎

I'm so used to throwing my own weather to erase his perfect blizzard spam, but I never got those TMs so I just benefited with Glalie when possible.

Thank you everyone who commented, the positive feedback always made me smile. This was a fun little challenge; keeping to the spherical, of course, but also making a sacrifice move mandatory throughout the entire experience.

Post Script: i erased Earthquake for Rock climb, then erased that move using Chest once I got up there, and used the TM26 I never used until then to get my move back. HMs suck.

I can't beat Lance

I arrived in front of Lance but every time I bump into him he kills me with Dragonite level 50

I'm really just making this post so that I might pop up on google when someone has a similar issue to what I had.

In order to view the nat dex or johto dex diploma again in HGSS you need to upload your save to a save editor (I used PKHeX) and change the flag that tells the game that you've already seen the diploma.

The problem is PKHeX doesn't have that flag labeled anywhere as far as I know so I had to do some digging through old forums to figure out which one it is, which I assume a lot of people don't want to do.

You need to go PKHeX's "Event Flags" section and then its "Research" tab. You need to manually enter and then uncheck flags 323 and 324. One's probably johto dex and one's probably nat dex because the guy gives you both once you reload the exported save, but I can't be certain on which is which so you're better off just doing both.

Once you do that and save, replace your save file with PKHeX's exported one and you should be able to talk to the guy and see the diplomas again. I had to do this because I didn't realize the screenshot tool i was using only sc'd the top half of my 3ds.

To reiterate in case someone's concerned, this only changes whether or not the game thinks you've talked to this guy or not, it will not affect your dex or game at all in any other way.

After Voltorb flipping for ages, I spent 3x that cashing in for Eevees. Finally got my silver rabbitfox! My first and probably my last shiny hunt. Even with 5x odds it was tedious as hell. He’ll be a perfect Umbreon

Im using 178.62.43.212 for primary dns and I've tried all of 0.0.0.0, 1.1.1.1, 8.8.8.8, and 178.62.43.212 for secondary. Am I not reaching the poke classic server? Is something wrong on my end?

(edit) SOLVED. So I was able to make it work with my android sharing my home wifi connection. Just had to change turn off a few over-cautious settings for my modem. Thanks yall!

Majority of the time when I play Soul Silver, I stick with my usual team by the team I get to Red: Houndoom, Tyranitar, Ampheros, Meganium, Lugia, and Espeon.

This time I wanted to try something different (Besides Espeon) and see if I can defeat Red using this new team. I challenged the Elite Four R2 and lost to Lance’s Garchomp. Anyways, I figure that if I grind a little bit more, I can complete it in one go!

What are your thoughts on my new team?

I'm new to reddit and a friend of me told me that some people here can help me about my problem in HG

I recently bought a 2nd hand Nintendo DS Lite from a collector and it's one of my dream handheld eversince i was in college, i am really a fan of Pokemon Soulsilver specifically so the silver color also was one of my dream one to get.

fast forward, someone sold thjis to marketplace and i immediately grabbed it.

when i opened the ds, there are two games on his R4 card ( i dunno if this group supports rom LMK please)

it was a HeartGold and a Platinum game. and when i checked, there is a shiny croconaw on his savefile in HG!

short story, totodile is one of my favorite pokemon and i always use FrustratedTotodile username in my pokemon journeys. so i was shock and it's a coincidence that a shiny croconaw was in his savefile! me as a sentimental person, wants to transfer this croconaw in my main game or just in Pokemon Home to keep it forever.

i know this one is a rom and probably some people won't like it but it's a core memory of mine and i don't want to keep crookie as a sav. file in my gmail, and i dunno if it was a cheat because there's no cheats downloaded when i checked his r4 files.

So as a sentimental trainer, i wanna ask you guys if you can help me transfer this crookie to the new generation game, my friend told me i can send the sav. file to someone who can do it.

sadly, i don't have a 3ds and a pokemon ank on it so i can't trade it y myself.

so hoping to find another trainer here that is willing to help

I got all the way to the fourth guy, and he was one shotin’ all of my pokemon.

After beating the league, I've spent a bunch of time grinding some lvls, and training at the battle frontier to get some nice TMs. Kanto is not at all ready for this team! Going to obliterate the region in what I see as a homecoming (first time playing HGSS/Gen 4) 😂

I've switched out Ampharos/Heracross for Lapras/Dragonite. My goal was to use more Kanto mons for this leg of the journey. I really wanted to accommodate my Snorax, but couldn't without making the team more imbalanced. Perhaps in a later playthrough!

Let me know what y'all think. Any further ways to improve the movesets/balance would be appreciated. Rock types look like they could give me some minor trouble. Any other such types/trainers I might be overlooking?

Although I'm confident this team should blitz Kanto/Red.

Edit (forgot to mention earlier): any thoughts on my Typholsion's ability to run a Sunny Day/ Solar Beam set with Flamethrower and Focus Blast? I fear he doesn't have enough bulk/resistance to set up effectively with that in big battles. As things stand, I'll switch BB with Eruption soon. Swift does feel like a bit of waste in all this. The Hidden Power is Dark, which might be even worse than Swift.
