I was wondering if I could get any advice on what I should do about my 3DS?

I’ve had my 3DS since 2017, and I recently started college so I brought it with me to play for whenever I have free time. However, it wouldn’t charge so I ordered a new one hoping that was the only problem. I probably should’ve checked to make sure it was an official charger, but I wasn’t really thinking. Anyways, when it finally came the new charger did in fact work so I thought the problem was resolved but now today when I went to charge my 3DS it just wouldn’t.

I’ve had my 3DS for almost 10 years so it’s pretty plausible that the battery is dead, but I just wanted some extra advice since I’m not really that techy before purchasing anything. Also, today when I plugged in my 3DS with the “old” charger that I thought stopped working, the charger light turned on for a bit which I thought was a little weird. It might be that the battery was the problem all along, but I’m still confused on how it was able to charge with the new, knockoff charger.

Regardless, I’d appreciate any advice!

Hi guys, I currently have the chance to buy a New Nintendo 3DS XL in a pretty great condition with an IPS Panel for around 260€ would you call that a rather good deal? I am open for suggestions and 250-260 is the maximum I want to spend. What would you guys recommend? Intended for modding obviously

I want to buy a 3DS as soon as possible. Since prices are so high, I’m considering buying an "old" 3DS XL first, and then—once I’ve saved up more money—upgrading to a "New" 3DS XL. As a teenager, I don’t have enough income to go straight for a "New" model; I earn about 8 dollars a week, and a "New" 3DS XL costs around 370 dollars in my country, whereas the "old" XL costs 175. I’m not sure if this is the right decision, so I’m asking for your opinions.

When I was a kid growing up in Vietnam, my neighbor, a boy visiting from the US brought over a Nintendo handheld running Pokémon. I still remember how utterly fascinated I was just watching him play, wishing I could have one of my own. Back then, it was way out of reach.

Fast forward to today: I’m 36 now, and I decided it was time to fulfill that childhood dream. I managed to track down an original 3DS in great condition from a local collector on Facebook, and holding it in my hands honestly brings me so much joy.

I finally booted up Pokémon, and here’s what I just caught!

Hey all so I had a 16 GB Sandisk SDHC card in my New Nintendo 3DS XL for like 10 years, still going strong surprisingly, but I decided to upgrade to 128 GB SDHC, also from Sandisk. I followed the steps here to do it via GodMode9 and it worked fine, then I moved any data I needed to off the old SDHC to my computer, and then to the new SDHC. When I went to put my new SDHC into my 3DS and turned it on, I wasn't greeted by a home menu, but I literally was every other time so what had happened??? I was able to boot into Luma3DS, GodMode9 etc. and GodMode9 saw my SD card fine so I didn't insert it wrong or anything. I went to 3DS Homebrew who gave me a website to follow and nothing worked, I even tried updating Luma3DS which updating it worked, but still didn't make it boot. What made it work was going into Safe Mode, and then suddenly, it booted! The system couldn't even boot into the home menu without an SD card in it which is concerning because I literally had Luma3DS installed to the NAND so it should have booted fine. It is a lot slower to boot though so that's a downside I didn't know about but otherwise it works fine now. All my data transferred successfully and everything.

Do any of you have any clue as to what happened? I was told it was just a coincidence but honestly, I don't think it was. I think this is something that shouldn't be shrugged off personally. Its scary. I don't want my 3DS to do this again, what are the chances it does? ☹️

So I'm the (un)fortunate owner of a dual IPS N3DSXL which has top screen cancer (delamination, causing the pixels to go black), known issue with these. It had it since I bought it, but I was so cheap I couldn't resist (60€, 2 years ago). Back then, the bottom left blob was a bit smaller.

Today, I got it out of its drawer to play some childhood games and I swore the top right blob had moved (not grown !) since last time I played. I thought I was tripping but a few hours sitting in my pocket, and now there's a clear difference!

I have a spare (TN) screen, but I'm waiting for decent transparent shells to drop so I don't have to do the job twice but I'm really getting worried the screen would completely shat itself before I get the opportunity (thanks ExtremeRate for abandoning the shells 🥲)

Has someone fixed those screens tho ? Because if they can "heal" when moving around or applying pressure, I'd like to know how (or at least prevent it from spreading).

I recently acquired this perfect device to start my collection, but I have a big question: How do I display it and the other items I'll acquire in the future?

I've already bought an acetate case for it, but I don't know exactly how to display the 3DS while keeping it protected.

I've seen acrylic cases where the handheld fits perfectly inside, and other models that are just a generic box on the outside.

I'd appreciate any tips on how to display it, and how you all display your collections.

If you could post photos here so that I and others can get inspired, I would be very grateful!

Just wanted to know if anyone here has taken a red 3DS XL and replace the outward top and bottom plates with the Metroid Edition 3DS XL plates so that screen area is red rather then black. I've just got my hands on a the Metroid Edition 3DS and wanted to see if the mod might be worth looking out for a red 3DS as well.

I was playing a game for around 13 hours in an area that doesn't allow me to save and then my game just crashed after I barely bumped the top of my DS. It immediately gave me the error message and of course I lost my unsaved data. Is there any way to recover this from my SD card, my game cartridge, or from the DS. Because this is just heartbreaking 😭.

Hi people. I’m really new to buying used consoles. I’ve never bought from Ebay before so I have a lot of worries about getting scammed. I just wanted to know if anyone has experience with this particular seller (gamecastlejapan). They left me positive feedback and have sent a couple informative messages about the console I bought. Also the feedback looks really good and trustworthy but I’ve heard from a couple people that lots of positive feedback isn’t always good. I’m not able to track the package yet so that makes me feel a bit anxious. I would like some guidence from an experienced person.

Hello! Im super new to the whole gaming scene, I got my hands on a free New 3DS XL but its messed up. The bezels are missing, its been bitten up, the shell is just all messed up and disgusting. Does anyone have any shell replacement recommendations? Preferably white.

Additionally if anyone has any tips for replacing it or stuff I should put on it when I mod the console, let me know !!

It seems as if it’s in near mint condition. The seller had a code for every item. They did make a mistake in the title listing (white/pink) but hopefully everything works out.

I’ve changed the battery but it still doesn’t want to charge I don’t know what else could I do iam bad asf at technical repair. Can someone help me please I bought it 130€

Unfortunately my current 3ds issues finally caught up to it and now doesn't work. Now my current dilemma is, if I buy another 3ds is it possible to transfer my data to it. I know using things like checkpoint I can transfer specific games saved but is that it? (Saying that I have both a GM9 system backup and a whole copy of my SD and the SD itself) Thanks in advance.
