I made a 12-minute explainer on Sunday morning's Budhi Gandaki flash flood. With no storm, the river at the Arughat gauge rose about 5 m in half an hour, and then the gauge itself was swept away. It uses DHM's 10-minute river data, Sentinel-2 imagery and NDRRMA's reports to trace where the flood started and how it travelled down the valley. Audio and subtitles are available in Nepali, Hindi and Bengali (⚙ → Audio track).

Update: when I made it the cause was unconfirmed. NDRRMA's preliminary assessment since says an avalanche at about 4:20 am set off a landslide that dammed the Syar Khola. That's in the description and the pinned comment, and it matches the 4:22 am seismic signal shown in the film.

This is gonna be a short rant.

Diuso pathao mangako thiye, zero people were accepting the rides. So I take Yango, person arrives in 1 mins takes me to my location.

But here was my mistake. My mistake was I forgot to cancel the pathao process. Now the app is so shit that even if LITERALLY NO ONE arrives in fucking 20 mins, even if you CLOSE THE APP ,the searching for "drivers" still goes on. I had no idea.

I reach my destination (from Yango) pay him. I see 2 missed calls from different people. I realized they were from Pathao. Makes sense, maybe they called me and I didn't answer, so they went elsewhere. ( I assumed that was it, Pathao might have ended the stupid 'searching' mechanism, 20-30 mins vaisakeko thiyo)

Suddenly I get a final call. From Pathao biker who is mad at me. He yells at me telling he has been staying there for a long time. Now, I said "CANCEL THE DAMN RIDE, I'M ALREADY AT MY DESTINATION". (Not literally but figuratively)

I end the call. The guy calls me again and again, twice. I block his number, uninstall pathao.

Later, at evening , I can see my WhatsApp message from that same psycho lunatic "Petrol ko paisa tirrchas" re.

I had to block this number from my phone, whatspp, viber, etc.

Bruh. WTF is this shitty app and shitty service.
Afai time ma naune, then 20 mins late ayera, ultai giving me threats.

Edit : The guy asked me RS 50 just today.

The idea is simple: finding and booking a futsal ground or other sports venue shouldn't have to involve multiple phone calls just to check availability, timings, and prices.

I'm building SajiloSport to make that process easier by bringing players, sports venues, and tournament organizers together on one platform.

The goal is to make it easier to:

🏆 Discover and participate in sports tournaments.

🏟️ Help venue owners manage bookings and schedules.

🤝 Connect players, teams, venue owners, and organizers.

I'm particularly interested in helping local sports businesses in Nepal become more organized and accessible online.

Hi, so i have been smoking for almost 12+years now, it all started during +2 just to be cool. I didn't realise when did i get addicted to. Initially it was with only friends 1-2 cig here and there and later when i started doing job i started smoking regularly. I now smoke ~10 cig everyday. And a pack when i sit down for drinks.

I have tried quitting multiple times but have failed miserably everytime. Almost every night i tell myself i will quit from tomorrow but when the next day comes i end up doing the exacr same.
