Gameplay GOAT builds are literally the opposite of what mycareer is?
Now obviously we get it all 2k cares about is how much money they can farm out of people always tryna gain a competitive advantage on this game thats literally built into the core of this game mode but let me say something.
Having builds that are just literal nba players is the exact opposite of what mycareer represents. Its meant to be build your own character from the ground up with animations, appearence, attributes and grind it to vs people. Having goat builds already made for you with more overpowered stats how tf does that fit into this gamemode?? Maybe put it in another game mode but buying pre built players is absolute money grab trash. Opinions?
Edit: Tf is with all the downvotes haha

MyCAREER This bait and switch with GOAT builds is the last straw for me
As much as i love this game, getting scammed like this just crosses the line for me.
First, why were GOAT builds not included in the previews? Its like i got baited for all of season 1, thinking id be making a mycareer player to play vs other mycareer players so i spent all the time and money on my player just to be so invested. Im even on my last step of my shootong specialization and it was all pointless.
Now you introduce GOAT builds to mycareer without even mentioning them in the trailer before like its not a big deal when its a clear scam on the myplayers. If you said GOAT builds were going to be introduced in season 2 in the trailers, most people wouldnt invest into their builds in season 1 or even buy the game at all. Its a clear bait and switch cash grab becore gta 6 comes out, its almost like they couldnt wait past season 1 to introduce GOAT builds.
Add in the lack of game balancing. Its insane 2k makes so much money but they take longer to update their games than any other AAA developer. Its clear they break their game balancing on purpose so they can get you to spend even more money.
Maybe im just old school but i have some pride to not want to be the sucker for once. Enough is enough for me.

MyCAREER The latest update has broken Career mode.2k27
Hi, I only play Career mode on Superstar difficulty. Up until now, I thought the game was good—in Career mode, you actually had to defend, and your teammates were actually useful. But since the new update, the opposing team has turned into a squad of Stephen Currys from three-point range, my teammates have forgotten how to defend, and Miller keeps missing easy baskets. I don’t understand what’s going on anymore.

MyPLAYER Weekly Cr3w Challenge - 35 REC Wins as a Cr3w
Petition for this challenge to count if the REC game is ran with 4 members + 1 AI.
I simply do not see any reason as to why this is not acceptable, and why there is a mandatory requirement of 5 members in the same squad.
I understand a team with a mix of different Crews is ineligible, but why can't 4+AI count?
35 wins is quite a lot when it's the last goal of the Week and it's only Weekday evenings to get together.

MyPLAYER Is a non-shooting build viable?
Someone that can pass, defend, rebound, block and basically do everything else to a high standard but only bronze badges for shooting.
Could it work?

Discussion Has anybody actually won something big from being in 1st place for the daily rivals challenge?
I got first place today and it gave me gatorade and muscle milk. Im assuming the probability of winning the VC is like 0.001%. Or its just for show and nobody wins it.
Also, they NEED to add in on/off feature or something for using the boosts because why do i need it if im playing against bots to earn my build spec numbers.

MyCAREER Goat builds will kill this game
Whoever thought of goat builds is a genius. All we needed is to have ppl run around with OP builds that you can't make in the builder...
Hopefully the lack of good animations balances them out

MyPLAYER Some GT Cut 1s I made 😮💨
Really wish we could wear GT Cut 1s in MyCareer I really don’t know why we can’t buy them. Genuinely in my top 5 hoop shoes

REC Is the game cooked after patch?
Just curious, I play random rec online, seems like after the update the movement of the ball on the opposing team is just a corner 3, shooting probably 80-90% from three, if someone drives to the paint it’s to keep running to the other corner to shoot a 3 or pass to another 3, iso ball is, dribbling left then right then shooting a 3 and all the shots are green, every opposing team I play does the exact same shit, I play random rec even if we have good ball movement and play good basketball and make the right play and everyone is shooting well we’re still down by 20 cause it’s not fast enough to just huck the ball down the court and pop a 3, so essentially the game is a back and forth 3 contest, and as a big it’s essentially like playing GTA and pacing in a straight line back and forth clicking Y, I’m not complaining I’m just confused why would they update the game to be like this, I think it’s for us to change our builds and spend money on the game… I’ve played 2k since 2k9 on and off but I didn’t know the game got this disassociated with the actual game of basketball… overall it’s bland stale and as I’m sitting in a chair playing this game I ask myself what the fuck is this? Just curious what’s your thoughts, I don’t care to not play the game anymore I’m not a 2k die hard, I was just enjoying the game before the patch, now it’s not even dogshit, it’s just a waste of time

City controversial opinion, but i love when people quit games.
i love when people quit games because it just shows me that so many people have good builds that they can’t use. when they quit and the ai takes their place? it’s money most of the time. a lot of you are letting ai be better than you.

MP Builder How do we go from spending 20$ on a build to 100+ for one build and nobody bats an eye until 2k27
MP Builder This was the Kawhi build shown in the pre-release video...
Add in cap breakers to that and dear lord... Obviously it doesn't mean that's the final version we're getting on Friday, but if it is and this is the level they're at...

Gameplay Can NBA 2K18’s blow-by mechanics be recreated in 2K27?
Hi guys!
I’m sure a lot of you remember how NBA 2K18 allowed players to blow past defenders simply by accelerating in the right direction.
You didn’t need a crossover, dribble combo or pick-and-roll. If you had someone like Westbrook or LeBron going against a slower defender, you could simply push the left stick toward the basket and accelerate past him. It felt incredibly natural, like actual basketball. Of course they had to ruin it the following year.
Since NBA 2K19, feels like defenders have become brick walls. Even when there’s an obvious speed mismatch, your player gets stuck in a contact animation or the defender somehow stays attached to him.
I’m not asking for unstoppable drives or unrealistic speed boosts. I just want athletic players to be able to beat slower defenders using their natural speed and acceleration, without having to perform special moves. Actually most players should be able to beat most players off because that’s how real basketball is played. It’s incredibly difficult to slow down an offensive player, doesn’t matter whether they’re an all-star or a bench warmer. No such thing as scrubs in today’s NBA.
Has anyone successfully recreated NBA 2K18’s freedom of movement in newer 2K games using sliders?
Specifically, does lowering Body-Up Sensitivity actually eliminate those annoying contact animations, or is this something fundamentally hardcoded into the gameplay engine?
I’m exclusively interested in realistic offline gameplay against the CPU. And I also need to slow down 2K27 considerably. Players move around like it’s NHL.
Thanks!

MyCAREER GOAT build 99 overall vs normal 99 overall
If I payed to get to a 99 overall & you paid to get to a 99 on a GOAT build and it’s significantly better aren’t I just paying a really high price to now be like an 85 or something. I feel like with these new builds coming essentially what’s happening is my player is getting worse, I feel as if I’m being scammed

REC Random Rec PGs Thoughts
I’ve been seeing random rec PGs complain about getting iced. It’s funny to me because you not getting iced for scoring your getting iced because the possession starts with you as the PG and you think 4 other guys are gonna watch you dribble out the clock and score drop 17 by halftime on 30-40% clip with and no assists and be okay with it. I’m not and I have no shame 🤷🏾♂️ get 20 plus with 6+ assists and I’ll sit back and just play ball.

MyPLAYER double 99 dunk goes hard
I just space the floor, play D, and occasionally put people in body bags lol
Made this build just to try out what a dual 99 dunk would feel like, and the dunks I get are absolutely ridiculous. I mainly score off leaking out on the breaks, and it doesn’t matter if I get a clean catch, catch it late, or even bobble it; I’m slammin’
I’m very selective with my attempts and just pass out if the lane isn’t what I want it to be, but overall I’m about a 70+% scorer in 3’s and 5’s just from rim-running lol
Planning on using my future caps to turn this into a 2-way dunking/lock type build, starting with a +4 to block with my next cap

REC 31 points is a lot but a 17 assist triple double isn’t enough for POTG I guess 😭
Might be being a lil whiny but I was salty after this one lol
Could’ve been a little more efficient and while 31-5-7-5 is a sweet stat line, I was deadass running every play and 2k doesn’t think 21 reb and 17 assists is good enough for player of the game 😭

REC Shooting over ai’s
Is that back? I just got back from working out of town and played a few games last night. A couple people quit on my team and the opposition started cooking the AI. Why would they bring that back 😂? So people’s feelings don’t get hurt when they get an AI matchup?

Gameplay The game really is for no life.
I love 2k but man. The grind is real. Im paying expensive money just to build one character, thats not even fully maxed out even. On top of that, if I dont have cap breakers, battle pass, grind the build spec, buying boosts and all the other things, i feel like i cant compete. I know i can but as a working man that has a life too but wanna enjoy my time on the game, it really sucks. Like I wanna play the game on my day off, why do i gotta sit and grind for Lifetime challenges. Im here to play basketball. Not me running around the city.
