I have to be in the minority when it comes to this game. I honestly feel like this is not a bad game this year compared to 2K26. In fact, I think it's a good hybrid of 2K25 and 2K26.
I don't think the shooting is overpowered. Common defense is pretty good if you know what you're doing. Even though people are still shooting a high shooting percentage per se when open, I at least feel like I can play some type of D and not feel helpless like last year.
There seems to be a good ball movement for the most part, so I'm definitely not running into the high number of ball hogging shooters like they were in 2K26.
I will say this, that I'm currently in the gold lobby with a small forward build. Honestly, I think I got lucky with the small forward build because it actually plays pretty decent from the shooting guard, small forward, and power forward positions, and I feel like I can switch to any player and play good defense. So, admittedly, my positive review of the game seems to be because I might have lucked up and created the perfect build for my play style.
Yes, cheaters still suck!

I've seen we're getting GOAT builds in the season pass but do we know if we've to put VC into them to get them from 60 to 99? I would find it a bit wild if we have to spend money on the season pass/ 400 lifetime challenges to get a build then we've got to put more money into it.

I get that it’s basically a super build, but how many of these users are actually gonna make these builds when they can’t get all the cheesy animations?
You got the Kawhi build? Awesome, you can do everything but you can’t do your cheese… what’s the point.
After the patch, as long as these guys got that high 3pt rating I don’t think most people are gonna switch.

Prime myplayer online was full of 7'0 forwards with all 99s so I don't see the issue with these having juiced attributes. In the dual archetype era people hated how a 99 potential myplayer wasn't the same as a 99 potential nba player.
Yall burn money on this rpg every payday anyways; being terrible and making terrible unoptimized players.
This is also the greatest gameplay balancing act in 2k history. Sigs and meta knowledge have been the real skill gap for like a decade. They finally create something that offsets that and yall are bitching?
This is nothing but good for EVERYONE that wastes time or money on 2k

every couple games there’s a guy on my team who thru 20 minutes of rec gameplay , never attempted a shot will have 0 pts and a complete drag to the team n can’t say they weren’t getting the ball , bc the team will always force them the ball ,maybe out of pity but they’ll instantly pass every time . why get in a rec game to not ever attempt a shot? n i’m the pg so i see this shit constantly

I’m reading all the complaints on GOAT builds, but lets be real, everyone was getting their cookie cutter builds off of labs anyways.
The real problem with GOAT builds is that it creates an even more expensive layer of monetization that leaves no pay accounts in the dust. Previously, pay 2 win was the high vs mid ovr. Now its going to be high vs mid ovr with goats above it all. The poors will be unable to find any teammates online because of low ovr AND not being Shaq or Curry.
Give it 2 years and your goats will be normal, your mychars will be the budget option, and your f2p chars will be scum that no one respects. In a game we all pay 70+ bucks for from the get go, plus ps+ or xbox live.
This game is cooked.

After them announcing Goat builds, I can’t really see much of a reason why the builder would need to even be used at some point. Just seems like it’s not that great of an idea

It’s both sad and absolutely hilarious what is happening with this game.
The constant gameplay changes and patches, now even adding GOAT builds in Season 2. Why not when the game was released?
Even if we don’t have that many details about them right now, I don’t think we all realise how much the overall gameplay will change, and this is a huge pivotal moment (no pun intended). It really isn’t fair and it’s beyond scummy to do us like this not even 2 months into the release.
And the saddest part is that the community will just eat it up as always.

97 interior defense , 98 blocks AND most importantly 88 FUCKING SPEED and 90 vertical for hof pogoSHIT (you can pump fake all you want, you are not winning against someone that spam jump here with all those inside stats)
Inside scorer already had standing dunk stripped and murdered since the release of 2k27 , now in s2 DONT even think about scoring inside with dwight howard build running around the town
GG 2k , thanks for killing an entire branch of game.
High interior used to come with some setback like very slow speed etc... but no we have fucking dwight with 88 speed

I’m about to smash my phone bra why is a 6’9 center able to do an ugly left right dribble move and hit a contested three in my face

Just costs a little VC

I feel like the solution is way simpler than what 2k is making it.
They’re trying to support 2 communities in one game.
The latest 2k should always be the best installment of basketball within a systems limits regardless of peoples opinions
If they don’t want to conform they can stay on older 2ks while 2k focuses on the next generation
Everyone wins.

I think the goat build is great and opens up the 2k experience. Now it’s all in how they execute it. Demi gods and particularly overpowered builds have existed in some of the most liked 2k’s probably your favorite. I think the ppl talking down on it are doing clickbait and trying to get engagement because they haven’t even seen it yet. Now my #1 gripe with this game is steals. I go in the rec trying to play pg and actually pass but a team of 5 is reaching the entire time and I’m avg 6-7 turnovers a game TRYING TO PASS!!! Every direction I go someone’s spamming steal because they just can with no repercussion. If u have high steal u should be rewarded if u time it right But u can’t jus get around ppl and not try to dribble to create a shot. Tone down steals, bump up contest, leave shooting alone, and probably some other minor things and I think this game is pretty descent. Other than that I think it’s just adjusting to the game. BTW, Giannis, KD, and Wendy are the only goat builds I’m unsure about being too overpowered if they make them.

Why is the shooting foul slider at 30 across all difficulties
I've never played a 2k this unrealistic with shooting fouls
Im drawing contact attack the rim and it's just never a foul
The strip animation that was always a 50/50 foul has now become a 70/30 at best
Whoever thinks this is better is wrong

Essentially I'm just trying to gauge where we are as a Community (and because my friends are complaining that we are low). So I'll put a poll on this post, let me know.
Also, 2k does need to increase the XP. Especially if we are getting 5 new levels every season.
