So apparently when you are the FC Bayern, and somebody hurt your feelings you get to burn tax payers money. It’s mad that this could even lead to a house search

Discussion Was ist am Max-Weber Platz los?

Lost & Found Stolen cargo bike

Post image
34 Upvotes

Hi everyone. Yesterday evening in the Orleansstraße in front of the VHS someone stole my cargo bike which was parked there. Words cannot express how much grief I feel. Me and my parents sacrificed a lot to be able to buy that bike, we have so many beautiful memories with it and now that it's gone I feel like I will never recover from it. I already reported it to the police but who knows?

If anyone has seen this bike, or has some tips on how to deal with the situation, I would be grateful for any kind of advice. Thank you!

Help Thrifting in Munich

• Upvotes

I'm looking for some good thrift store recommendations, since I've already checked out the resale spots near Karlsplatz. I love vintage jackets and unique finds, and I'm specifically looking for a place with a solid men's collection.

Help Suche Auto für den Winter in München

Hallo zusammen ,

Vielen Dank schon einmal !

Visitor/Tourist Question Bavaria Filmstadt Halloween without speaking German?

I speak a very little German, and I have a friend who speaks no German. We are considering checking out some of the Halloween attractions at the Bavarian Filmstadt. But I thought I would ask here first if anyone has been in the past or this year whether they think you could follow and enjoy without understanding German? I assume some of the more story-heavy attractions would not be as good if there’s no English option, but maybe the maze or similar attractions could be ok?

Meetup Casual Running in Sendling - buddies wanted!

I woke up today and realized I’m fucking old, badly out of shape and it’s about time I did something about it. About the out of shape part, that is, for now at least.

And since I know all too damn well that I’m going to go for three solo jogs before life gets in the way, and I start telling myself I’ll definitely get my run in tomorrow, only to realize a few months later that tomorrow apparently never came … how about we run together?

I usually manage around 3-6 km at a 6:30 pace before I’m utterly winded and/or bored out of my mind. So I’d appreciate it if you didn’t contribute to my feelings of inadequacy by completely blowing me out of the water right from the start.

Also, please be able to hold a conversation in German, English or Russian or be willing to put up with my entirely merde French or virtually non-existent (but very convincing sounding) Spanish. That said, once we’re running, my linguistic abilities may be limited to breathing heavily and making vague gestures.

Looking for 1-2-3 runs per week, either super early morning (I will absolutely hate you), around 9 a.m. or at about 6 in the evening.

All genders welcome.

Fun facts about me: Early 40s, father of one, married, punk rocker at heart, entrepreneur, drummer, ever curious, perpetually torn between wanting to do absolutely everything at once and needing three coffees and a nap (in that order).

Help Cake at Edeka Rehwald

Hi everyone, I’m hoping for help identifying the most amazing cake I’ve ever had in my life. I want to say it was Black Forest mainly because of the cherries inside the cake but in my memory the sponge part of the cake was not chocolate so that’s why I am not sure if it is actually a Black Forest cake…

Basically it looks like this: a square piece with a thin layer of chocolate on top, then the sponge, then a cream filling (maybe mascarpone?), then another sponge but between the cream and the sponge was tiny bits of cherry, maybe I’m missing a layer but all I know is that since I’ve left I have not stopped thinking about that cake.

I’m hoping someone can maybe tell me what kind it is? If there’s a way to order or just so I can look up similar ingredients and attempt (most likely fail) to make it myself… does anyone know the specific cake?

Culture Help me identify a music band from the Munich Marathon

Last Sunday I ran the Munich Marathon, one of the coolest experiences I’ve ever had. After completely exploding around km 24, the crowd kept me going with amazing energy.

Something is stuck in my head though and I’d really appreciate any help identifying it:

Somewhere shortly after leaving the Englischer Garten (around km 23, heading toward Bogenhausen/the Isar high bank), there was a rhythmic percussion/drumming group. In front of the drummers was a blond woman who was singing and dancing. She was dressed normally (not in classic samba clothes). Her dance was quite minimal, mostly swaying left and right with her body while her arms stayed relatively still.

I passed them roughly between 10:35 and 10:45.

I know the description is vague (was hanging on for dear life at this point!), but does this ring a bell for anyone? Any idea which group or singer it might have been?

Thanks a lot!

Visitor/Tourist Question Going to see 1860 München today, do I really have to print out the pdf ticket?

Servus und Grüss Gott to all! Going to watch 1860 München for the first time. Bought pdf-tickets with qr-codes in them. Saw the box where it says something like "one must print them out on A4 and fold them accordingly. Only valid when printed." Is this seriously still enforced and accurate in 2026? Danke schön in advance.

Discussion Is this normal for Munich hotels outside Oktoberfest? Our room was under an active construction site, with no heating

My partner and I booked 3 nights at Hotel Kraft in Munich, near the main station, for a short city break in October. We didn't sleep there a single night.

The short version:

- We were given a 5th-floor room directly under an active building site. From the moment we walked in, we heard angle grinders and heavy equipment hitting the floor above us. Scaffolding outside the window, a protective covering on the lift floor, bare plasterboard in the stairwell.

- The hotel's own website says they're building floors 6 and 7 and calls it "the last details". Nobody told us before we arrived.

- No heating. 13°C and rain outside, the AC panel locked on OFF, the radiators cold. I was sick with a fever that day.

- The hotel's solution: accept that the room is "decent" and get a free beer and breakfast, or leave. No other room, no heater.

- When we left, we were told "good luck finding something better".

So we walked through the rain with our bags and paid about €170 more for a last-minute room somewhere else. The older gentleman at reception who stored our luggage that morning was genuinely kind, and I don't blame him. But the rest of it ruined the start of a trip we'd planned for a while.

What I keep wondering: do some hotels here get away with this because demand is so high that there's always another guest, especially around Oktoberfest? We came after the festival, on a normal October weekend, and still got treated like this. Is this common in Munich, or were we just unlucky?

Help Looking for a meaningful souvenir

Hi everyone! I’m in Munich and heading back to my hometown in a couple of days. A close friend recently lost their 9-year-old brown Dachshund to tick fever, despite trying everything, including a blood transfusion. 💔

I’d love to bring them a thoughtful souvenir from Munich to remember their little guy. I was thinking of a Dachshund LEGO set or puzzle, but I’m open to other meaningful ideas.

Has anyone gifted or received something special after losing a beloved pet? Any suggestions for something I could find in Munich would be greatly appreciated. ❤️🐾
