Hey guys, I messed up completely today and I’m panicking a bit.

I am on 15mg and I took my normal dose, but then I tried to extract the leftover medication using an external syringe. Because of a massive math error, I accidentally drew up and injected another 18mg right after.

That means I just took a total of 33mg of Mounjaro at the exact same time.

Has anyone ever done this or taken an overdose this high? Am I going to get dangerously sick? Appreciate any advice!

I'm in my second month (6th week), still on the 2.5mg dose because I feel very strong hunger/cravings suppression. I have been losing ~3.3 lbs per week but this week the scale is going up and down instead of down like before and I don't think I will lose any weight this week (or maybe the weight will go up a bit compared to last week!). I'm eating the same way as the weeks before.

What is going on? I was so excited about the journey and I'm now confused and worried that it won't work :(

Today I’m due for my shot but I’m not leaving until tomorrow and no one can bring me my shot. Question is, Can I delay it for a day? Will it mess me up?

Would you guys say Mounjaro is honestly worth it. I’ve never been one who (personally) believed in weight loss injections, I’ve always leant towards doing it the natural way. But I’m becoming desperate, I’ve struggled with binge eating for 6 years now and I can’t seem to stay disciplined. I am worried about the side effects, especially nausea/vomiting. What do you guys think?

To give some context, I suffer from diagnosed dysthymia and generalized anxiety since I was 13, i'm 23 now, i'm medicated with Lexapro/escitalopram and it helps a bit. If you had previous mental disorders and they lasted long like mine, did you had any positive or negative changes with Mounjaro?

I recently discovered that my clinic continued using my Mounjaro KwikPen for 52 days, even though the manufacturer’s instructions say to discard it 30 days after first use.

I currently have no symptoms, but I’m concerned about infection risks, particularly because I have a history of surgical implant infection (nose job)

Has anyone experienced something similar? Did you consult a doctor, and what advice were you given?

** I go to the clinic every week and have the doctor inject it for me. I don’t keep or use the pen myself. The clinic stores it and administers each dose, which is why I’m concerned about how long they continued using the same pen, needles were changed everytime and also wiped the area with alcohol

Hello guys, just wanted to check. This is my first time on 5mg and I just finished my third dose. However it looks like I have much less than usual for my fourth dose. Did I do something wrong ? Thanks for the help !

Is this remaining fluid the golden dose? My pen doesn't click anymore. Is it safe to extract the same with an insulin needle?

For context, I started by taking my doses from a 15mg pen to save costs. I had 9 doses at 2.5mg that was supposed to be 10 clicks and 7 doses of 5mg that was supposed to be 20 clicks.

Now here's the confusion, I was counting my clicks starting from the first line after 0 based on my nurse's instructions and online tutorials, which was basically 12 clicks from 0 for 2.5mg and 22 clicks from 0 for a 5mg dose.

In my 7th dose I got only 21 clicks and the pen stopped clicking.

I realized it was 60 clicks from 0 not from the line only once I counted clicks on the new pen.

I'm super confused as the math is not adding up.

Can someone tell me where I'm wrong? Based on my initial assumption that 12 clicks from 0 is 2.5mg, I was supposed to be left with 2.5mg more after my 7th 5mg dose.

Hi everyone! I've been on mounjaro about 8 months now. I had a period when I first started, then another in April. I was so hopeful that things were normalizing but, alas they did not. I've been on Ozempic which didn't work and now Mounjaro a total of about 3 years. SW 247 CW 195. So, I definitely have some underlying hormonal things going on and I am not the best at working out.

Anyway, I went to the doctor, they gave metformin 500mg per day to boost my digestion and insulin response/resistance etc. But still no period. Bloodwork is pretty normal otherwise. TSH and Prolactin are normal. I tried the Progesterone challenge and that was negative. Now i'm on the Estrogen-progesterone challenge. Estrogen 30 days and Progesterone for the last 10 of the 30.

Now I'm just curious if anyone is going through this? I know there's an Amenorrhea channel on here I can post in and I hope to. Thanks.

I've been seeing my bariatric surgeon for about 7–8 years (i had RNY in 2019), and he's been prescribing Ozempic for me for the past 2–3 years. It's no longer working as well for me, and my blood sugar has been all over the place. (before surgery I was diagnosed with diabetes, but my sugars were great and normal until lately)

My doctor prescribed Mounjaro, but now his office is telling me they no longer handle prior authorizations and that I need to go through my PCP instead. My issue is that my PCP didn't prescribe the medication, so why should their office be responsible for the PA? I've even discussed prior authorization issues with my surgeon before, and he gave me the impression that he was willing to handle them (he did before with Ozempic). I'm waiting for a call back from him to see if he would help me out. I feel like this is just the office being a tad lazy.

Has anyone else dealt with a prescribing doctor's office refusing to submit a PA? Is this normal?

I have only two Mounjaro pens left, and I still need to lose around 10 kg to reach my goal. Since the medication is quite expensive, I’m wondering if taking my injections every 10 days instead of every 7 days would help me make my remaining supply last longer.
Would this significantly affect my weight-loss results? Has anyone tried spacing out their doses to save money?

Hi everyone! My last Mounjaro shot was August 26, and I’ve had a break for personal reasons. My KwikPen has been refrigerated continuously since then, and there are still about three weeks’ worth of doses left.
I know the manufacturer recommends discarding it 30 days after first use, but I’ve seen people here say they continued using theirs without issues. Mounjaro is so expensive, and I hate the thought of wasting it!
The liquid is still clear, but I’m nervous about using it past the recommended period.

Has anyone used their pen after 30 days? Did you experience any issues? I’d really appreciate hearing your experiences!

I just paid $399 for my first 5mg pen and had to brace myself. I paid $299 for the 2.5mg loading.

Is this normal? I feel like that was a lot of money.

1. My butt looks like a shar pei dog. All wrinkly and at certain angles my wife’s says it looks like it’s smiling at her. I love her.
   
2. Every so once in a while my man boob will slap against my side making me and my wife to ponder, what the hell was that?
   
3. For whatever reason I don’t see it and just recently had to accept the weight loss. My clothes were so gigantic on me that even my boss had to pull me aside and tell me that I look like a little kid who put on his dads clothes.

Those are just some of the things I’ve noticed but my overall health has dramatically improved. I walk 5+ miles a day, 100 pounds down and even my sex life has improved. This drug not only changed my life but I honestly think it may have very well saved it.

I have started microdosing and am now taking 1.25 mg once a week. In three months, I plan to stop taking Mounjaro completely. How much weight have you gained since stopping Mounjaro, and where on your body have you gained it.

A lot of posts here mention days where eating anything feels like a chore, but you still want to get some protein in. I put together a list of foods that pack a lot of protein into a small amount. Rough grams per serving:

- Greek yogurt cup: ~15 g
- Cottage cheese, half cup: ~12 g
- Egg bites x2: ~19 g
- Tuna snack pack: ~17 g
- String cheese: ~7 g
- Bone broth, 1 mug: ~9 g
- Protein shake, sipped slowly: ~15 to 30 g

What's on your list for the really low days? Anything you tried that just didn't work?

16 week update is that I am now down 53 pounds since starting Mounjaro. One of the biggest surprises so far is that I actually enjoy weight training! I always focused on cardio, cardio, cardio. This is the first time I am honestly interested in weights. Don bought a Bowflex xtreme and we started collecting various vintage weights. ​I am getting stronger and losing weight!

My diet is protein focused with lowcarb vegetables. My current weekly Mounjaro dose is 10 mg.

Is anyone else working out with weights?

From 400+ to 199.2, I can believe I managed to make it here just 10 pounds from the goal!

Did it by doing a ludicrous amount of steps, eventually adding in some cycling, weight lifting just enough to not lose too much muscle.

I worry about going back to a “normal” diet since I’m very much an all or nothing type of person where I eat a very restrictive diet or I eat all the food in the world that makes me happy. It’ll definitely be an adjustment and if anyone has any tips for transitioning after reaching maintenance, let me know!

I am half way through my 4th week and things are going great. Dr started me on 5mg which has been no problem and lost 6% (7.5kg) so far. Also changed my behavior, no grazing, sitting at the table for 3 healthy meals a day (instead of being a couch potato) and doing resistance exercises 5 days a week. But I am craving (and eating) large volumes of peppermint chewing gum (like a bottle a day) and my consumption is increasing. Has anyone else had weird cravings / behaviour?

42 (m) my doc and I were potentially looking to get on a glp1 for my non alch fatty liver (I ate pretty carelessly in my 20s and most of my 30s).

I eat pretty well these days, not a snacker either, definitely run the risk of having too many caloried drinks, but changed that.

Made some changes to diet and such and my blood work camp back significantly worse, so much my doc had a bit of a freak out. I wasn't type 2, but I am now.

She thinks there's some metabolic thing going on and this should make a substantial impact.

Got my mounjaro in today. For some reason I was a little nervous about the stomach shot - but that was unfounded, not even a minor inconvenience with this fancy spring button thing.

2.5 hours later a pretty upset stomach.

Not excited to probably being on this forever, but definitely grateful for forever being longer than it would otherwise :p

hi guys, I’m looking to use my golden dose of my mounjaro pen, this is something I’ve done before a lot probably about seven times now. I usually buy needles that look exactly like the ones in the photos. I’ve just noticed that the actual needle sharp bit is a lot longer than the usual needles that I was using. I’m wondering if this is still okay to use for injecting the golden dose. I think I’ve gotten the wrong ones, it seems to have the same units written as the ones I usually get but this is all my chemist had in stock. And also if I was to use this needle, do I still inject the actual needle part all the way or should I just do it halfway or something?
also, my pen is 5 mg and I’m looking to only half the dose for a 2.5 dose. If that matters.
