This randomly happend on my yt page the two channels are completely different (although they did meet up with each other once)

It would appear so this time. Go to that channel, a video by that title doesn’t exist.

yes, i seen it happen not only on YT
it just pulls wrong thing from backend either due to error on server or error in browser
i would assume title and thumbnail is in one container while rest is in the other (length, channel icon and name, views, upload date) and if you actually enter second link it would go to proper video from that creator

As as web developer, I don't doubt that it happens, I've seen some weird stuff, but just logically I don't get what series of events could make this happen. Assuming they did some sort of JSON or XML API call to get the data, it seems like it would be impossible for any reasonable code to have something like this get mixed up.

To me it looks like a stale index into an array after re-rendering. You tend to see complex shenanigans there to improve performance. It's likely a frontend issue.

I mean considering the fact YouTube has issues playing a video, allowing users to search, or operating as a functional website, it’s not shocking frankly anymore

Yeah I’ve clicked on videos that the title continues to be wrong and it’s a whole different video. Fixes when I restart the app.
