First hole has appeared in my LTT socks today. This pair arrived on Aug 4, and has been worn daily since then, and washed on average 5-6 times weekly. Always washed cold water normal cycle, then air dried on sock hangers overnight.
Overall opinions: similar to Darn Tough socks. I usually wear darn tough exclusively, and go through 3-4 pairs a year. The LTT socks are closest to the Darn Tough hiker socks - very warm and nice cushion when new. Now there’s virtually no cushion left, but still decently warm - although, we haven’t had any properly cold weather yet to test them. Very comfortable, despite being a bit too small for me (size 13 feet). The elastic is quite tight around my ankle; which I prefer since doesn’t slide down on me during the day.
On thing I don’t really like is a crazy amount of fuzz/pilling. I’ve not experienced it with other socks before. After the first week or so they started pilling like crazy, and it has slowly gotten better over the past couple weeks but still noticeable. It was pretty bad for 2-3 weeks.
Otherwise, solid socks. I probably won’t buy more just because I have lots of the same darn tough socks and I don’t like sorting. Not recommended for warm weather. First couple weeks of August I was roasting…

So I unsubscribed from LTT a while ago, it happened during the private jet saga. It's actually didn't hate the concept of them having a jet, I just didn't really care about the content anymore which is probably normal. Still, I have the occasional look and watch videos that seem interesting. However, I watched some today and the videos were strangely disappointing for a tech channel, I watched 3:
1. The RAM video
I don't think I need to explain why it is silly to test systems with 32gb on how fast they start using 16gb. The entire video was such a weirdly tech-illiterate mess that it almost felt like they were trolling. They even mentioned the problems with their own methodology later and just didn't care about it. I am not joking but this video is approaching The Verge builds a PC levels of bad.
2. The Framework Pro "review"
I am currently looking for a new work Laptop and I was super interested in a MacBook Pro vs Framework Pro comparison but the review of the Framework Pro felt biased. Linus says he is extra hard on them but it doesn't feel like that in the video at all. When they talk about performance they literally start with "it isn't a gaming machine, it is for serious work" but then only show gaming benchmarks. Why not the usual Code compile/Adobe/Cinebench suit? Also, every other laptop gets a speaker test - I legit don't know how many times I heard crab rave through a LTT video - except for this one. Suspiciously, those are the 2 big factors where the Framework Pro loses hard to a MacBook Pro. Maybe it is a coincidence but it just doesn't feel like it, to me it feels more like Linus trying to support a company he is invested in.
3. The Steam Machine is the best PC
This isn't as bad as the other two but it feels a bit pointless. It's just a list of random minor tech issues, this feels like one of those listicle websites from a decade ago (like "10 things that Linux does better than Windows"). The Steam Machine would be great if it was cheaper but "Best Desktop PC" just seems stupid.

Thought it was going to be hard to convince them but to my surprise everyone was down to make the switch.

This channel popped up on my algorithm today, so I checked it out. All the videos have different people in the thumbnails, and every video follows the same script.
“Today I’m going to explain why I left. I used to make the short form content or gaming B roll. I can’t say anything more because it’s super private, but hey, if you like LTT, sub to me, and I’ll see you next time.”
This seems very much to be someone farming for subs using LTT as a way to get people’s attention, falsely stating they worked there but left due to a disagreement, yet they keep it vague enough as not to be defamatory towards LTT.
Correct me if I’m wrong, and they were a former LTT member, but it seems very suspicious the whole channel.
It makes me wonder if there are other channels out there using LTT to engage and farm, is this a new YouTube trend?
If this is in fact someone pretending, hopefully someone at LTT will see this so they can get ahead of it in case it gets worse and more defamatory towards them.

I know the team at LMG has a ton of analytics and data to use when deciding what a good thumbnail should look like, but is this really peak YT thumbnail design in 2026??

Got this for my mom to replace her Galaxy S5 Mini (!!!!!) and was unpleasantly surprised that we'll have to get a separate cable. Buying this separately is definetly better for the environment.
Is this the norm? I thought new phones at least come with a charging cable, and they just removed the charging brick and trash-tier headphones

We were tasked with removing some cables but it’s a mess under this floor. That’s what happens when the building has been running 24/7 tv since the 80s. No real way to tear it all out and start over.
