I’ve been mulling over Bond 26 a lot lately, and last night I had an actual Bond 26 dream.
It was Jack Lowden as Bond, and all I can really recall is that he was walking under grim looking arches late at night in a turtleneck and long coat and the camera switched to a view from the side as he walked through a dimly-lit tunnel.
As he continued walking, there were holes in the wall that you could see through and as he walked by them it created the Gun Barrel oval walk.
There was a noise, similar to a magazine being loaded into a gun.
He turned and shot and the whole arch was lit for a split second by the gunshot. Dead silence.
Then the LED billboard just flickered above him with the name of the film. It was nonsensical letters that I can’t pinpoint.
It was very noir detective. Almost similar to the video game Max Payne.
It was cool.
Just thought I’d share.

Here's a fresh hub for film rankings (or whichever other categories you'd like to list) that will serve us through the remaining half of October.
Might this be our final Rankings Megathread before the announcement of Bond Actor #7? Precious times, precious times...

My absolute favorite Bond ad has to be the Heineken for Skyfall. It's not just a standard ad with a logo on screen. This one actually feels like a mini film. It's got the snow, the trains, the action and Daniel Craig doing what he does best, being Bond. There's Bérénice Marlohe in there too providing that very typical Bond girl touch. It really does capture the feel of Skyfall perfectly.
I've seen a fair few Bond trailers, a fair few drink trailers/commercials and game promos. Some are good. Some are pretty cool. This one? That one genuinely feels like it belongs in the film. It's not a commercial for a drink at all. It's like a story. I was watching it and I thought "this is peak Bond advertising" It's not all about being flashy. It has purpose, it has style and it has that Bond attitude.
(Also who doesn't love a surprise appearance from our dearest Dr No, a brilliant nod to the past if you ask me).
So now i ask, whats your favorite and why? Any answers welcome.

For me, him carrying Stacey out of the inferno in AVTAK is James Bond’s most heroic moment in the entire franchise. To the John Barry score, with the crowds including the tramp on the street, I get absolute chills every single time. What an amazing way to exit the franchise! When they applaud him, it’s like the audience applauding Roger for his contribution. What’s his finest moment in the role for YOU?

Meant to share these awhile ago; was in Turkey and stumbled into a used bookstore in Büyükada (of the Princes Islands off of Istanbul), and found these little gems.
Printed in 1965.
First book “Dokuz Canli Adam” is Live and Let Die (the translation is The Man with Nine Lives)
Second book Royal Kumarhanesi is Casino Royale (translation is Royal Casino)
Third book “Rusyadan Sevgiletle” is From Russian with Love (translation is With love from Russia)
They’re all pretty beat up, Casino Royale is missing its back cover, each book has various written notes and highlighted passages. But overall it was find to find these while randomly browsing this shelves.

Sometimes they use someone else for an scene because the main actor was not easily available.
Pierce running on top of the damn
Goldfinger walking down some stairs
Both cases ironically are the actors into!!!!
Know of others?

I know Christmas Jones gets a lot of criticism, but I honestly love the combination of Denise Richards and Sophie Marceau in The World Is Not Enough.
Which Bond girls pairing would you pick?

Back again with another Bond-related discussion — although today we're doing something a little different. We're talking about The Thomas Crown Affair (1999), starring Pierce Brosnan and Rene Russo.
Now, I know this technically isn't a James Bond movie, but since Pierce Brosnan played 007, I thought it would be interesting to discuss another one of his films. 😂
The movie follows Thomas Crown, a wealthy and sophisticated businessman who steals a priceless painting from a museum. Catherine Banning, an insurance investigator, is brought in to investigate the theft, leading to a game of cat and mouse between the two.
With its stylish atmosphere, clever heist, mystery, and chemistry between the leads, The Thomas Crown Affair offers a different look at Brosnan outside of his role as James Bond.
What are your thoughts on The Thomas Crown Affair?
What do you most like about the film?
What do you most dislike about the film?
What do you think of Pierce Brosnan's performance as Thomas Crown?
What do you think of Rene Russo's performance as Catherine Banning?
What do you think of the chemistry between the two leads?
What do you think of the heist and mystery elements?
What do you think of the film's style, music, and overall atmosphere?
How does Pierce Brosnan's portrayal of Thomas Crown compare to his portrayal of James Bond?
Have you seen the original 1968 version, and if so, how does it compare to the 1999 remake?
Curious to hear everyone's thoughts and opinions.
And yes, I know this technically isn't part of the James Bond film series. Consider this a little Bond-related bonus discussion. 😂
One quick note: I'm posting from a different account, so some of you might recognize me from my other Bond discussions!

On Sir Roger Moore's birthday I thought of this anecdote from British screenwriter Marc Haynes (@marchaynes on X) of meeting him both as a boy and as an adult. Apologies if you have seen this before; but for me the story is testament to what a fantastic character Sir Roger was - both on and off-screen....

Over on the Team Deakins podcast, Cinematographer Adam Bricker (Hacks, Chef's Table) interviews Roger and James Deakins about their work on Skyfall, logistical challenges, the creative intentions behind the vision for the film, and how the cast and crew filmed a globe-trotting adventure almost entirely in the UK.
