Union TUI rep antics

I don't want to go into too much detail here but I can in pm if necessary.

I am in a majority TUI school whilst being an ASTI member.

Whilst organizing the strike day with the tui rep (there is no ASTI rep so I said I'd step up temporarily for the industrial action) certain things were agreed and come strike day these things were conveniently forgotten and it made things appear as if it was only TUI in the school.

On the day I was blindsided and felt pressured to join the picket with the optics making me appear like I was in the tui.

I know this may seem small and petty but I honestly feel like this rep went on a complete power trip to get their way as comments have been made in the past about it being a tui school and any asti members need to join tui.

I naively thought because we were working towards the same goal this would nulify any union rivalry. I guess not.

Should I make a complaint to tui or management in the school?

New to teaching so not really sure what to do.

PME help..

Hey guys.
Just want some advice if anyone can really.
I just am finding PME1 so hard. My co-ops are amazing but I feel like I’m letting them down.
I make stupid mistakes and really beat myself up over it.
I see other PMEs say their experience is great and they’re doing well and I’m wondering how mine can be so opposite.
The work load is crazy and I feel like I’m behind on college notes because I prioritise the kids and it’s taken a bit of a toll on me
Sorry this is so all over the place

Question Maths and Applied maths

Hi everyone, I’m currently in 2nd year of a BSc in Maths and Applied Maths with Education.
Just wondering how valuable Applied Maths would be as a second teaching subject when it comes to applying for jobs in secondary schools.
I know a lot of schools don’t offer Applied Maths, but would being qualified to teach it be seen as a positive during interviews? And would schools be open to introducing it if there was enough student interest and a qualified teacher available?
Just curious if it actually gives you much of an advantage when looking for teaching jobs or if schools mainly care about Maths. There’s only 2 of us doing Maths and Applied Maths teaching in my year, compared to roughly 40 doing Maths and Biology, so it’s a fairly uncommon combination.
Thanks 🙏

Teaching LC History?

Hi all!

I'm an NQT working as an English and History teacher, and have recently been asked to cover for a 5th Year History teacher going on leave for a few weeks. I only have limited experience teaching LC History and was just wondering if anyone has any tips for teaching it, notes, activities, etc? Do you use the textbook or work from notes? Do you do note taking? Any help at all would be much appreciated as the thoughts of filling in for this class is stressing me out!
