Crafting in games usually means holding a button. I made a game where physical woodworking IS the entire game

Usually, you just walk up to a workbench, press F, and instantly get a table. In my first-person woodworking simulator, Made by Hand, I wanted to do something completely different.

The main feature is actually making wooden utensils and furniture with your own hands. You go through the full path: blueprint selection, pencil marking, sawing, lathing, edge processing, sanding, and assembly. A wooden board turns into a finished item right in your hands.

To keep the game relaxing, there is no stressful shop management. When you finish a piece, you just photograph your item, post it online for likes, and a delivery drone picks up the order.

Do you guys enjoy games that turn a single, detailed mechanic into the whole core loop?

I made a pinball castle defender, and it’s out on Ios right now.

I tried to have a good difficulty curve and loads of content with different orcs, bosses, waves, and upgrades.

Disclaimer: i used AI for coding. I don’t know if this counts as GenAI.

I don't like undertale. I don't understand why people like it. And I don't like that I don't understand. Can someone explain why people like the game?

I tried the game twice and bounced off.

the second time I played for a few hours (I think

It's a year ago that I played it last).

I get that it is decently written and people prefer a good game over graphics (I don't like the graphics, but that shouldn't keep me from understanding what it makes it so good)

I was playing and I expected some sort of twist that made me go "wow, now I understand" but that twist never came.

It's a bit funny at times. The "battles" are unique but nothing that got me hooked or something.

It's interesting that you can "talk it out" but that also is just a system that didn't blow me away.

Is there something in the game, that comes later maybe, that I didn't see yet?

Should I give it a third try?

My uni friend loves Noita and Roboquest, I really love games such as Outer Wilds, Tunic, and Blue prince, and we really wanted to work together on our master thesis, which ended up becoming a super cool in-the-making game! We'd love to know what you think! This is Modulink:

Hey everyone! I’m one of the developers of Modulink. I’ve always loved roguelites, but I wanted to make something where you don't become stronger by having more of whatever currency or just better stats. Instead, you learn how the world works, and that knowledge completely shifts how you handle the next run. If you think this is your jam, I'd love to know what you think about it! Here's our steam page for more info: https://store.steampowered.com/app/4952760/Modulink/

We just reveled it and there's an ARG going on with the reveal where the first 5 people to finish it will get a free copy of the game at launch!

I’m 19 and made my first Steam game: an incremental e-commerce empire on a retro desktop. Demo is out!

Hey everyone! I’m 19 and CartWare is my first Steam game. You start with a single-product online store and grow it into a global e-commerce empire, all from a retro desktop OS.

You receive orders, pack and ship them before your queue backs up, restock your shelves, and spend your earnings on a skill tree that unlocks new storefronts and tools.

The demo is out now, and I’d love honest feedback on the pacing, the early game, and anything that feels confusing or unsatisfying.

Solo dev here. Want to share my game Mailed It! with a community. It's a first-person physics based incremental about the night shift at a mail sorting center.
Would you play this type of game? It's kinda mix between Tidy Up and Incremental genre with a room to play with physics things.

If you want to follow development, I post updates on Discord: https://discord.gg/zByRakHDK

Happy to answer any questions.

AI disclosure: AI tools were used solely for small code assistance during development, all code was reviewed and tested. Every piece of art, music, sound, and text in the game was human-made.

I've always wanted to live in a cozy medieval fantasy world, so I'm making a game where you run your own tavern

I was really getting into games like Easy Delivery Co. and remembered playing restaurant tycoons on Roblox when I was younger. I just thought damn wouldn't it be nice to live in a medieval tavern and slowly build it up from absolutely nothing to the biggest tavern in the kingdom.

So I decided to make a game like that :)) I'd also just finished reading and watching Delicious in Dungeon and Frieren which definitely influenced the whole vibe and I just really love the PSX style.

My 'Diablo with Mechs' roguelite - showing off some early Big Robot boss fight.

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hi, Frame of Suffering is my solo developed "Diablo with Mechs" roguelite.

Currently in heavy development, so I'm still adding and changing a lot of features. Wanted to share a look at an early boss fight! You can see some combat mechanics (ranged and/or melee, depending on your equipment), along with switching between the Pilot and Mech Suit (Frame).

In Frame of Suffering you are progressing both your Pilot and Frame. You’ll also find plenty of loot where each Mech part and Pilot's armor part will visually change how the model looks.

If everything goes well, I'm hoping to have a demo ready sometime in the first half of next year. If you’d like to learn more, feel free to check out the game on Steam: https://store.steampowered.com/app/3844300/Frame_of_Suffering/

Roll five dice, hold and reroll, and whatever poker hand you land becomes your army... demo is out now!

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Solo dev here. In Of Dice and Minions you roll five dice. Each die is a minion type, and the number you roll is how many of them show up. Hold and reroll to chase a poker hand for bonuses (a Five of a Kind is +20 extra units and triple damage), then COMMIT and your army fights on its own. Leftover dice turn into boons, and bosses roll their own dice back at you.

The free demo has the tutorial and the first 20 floors, and it's in Steam Next Fest Oct 19-26. Full game Nov 16. Happy to answer anything!

[Asset Showoff] Japanese AC Unit (2,340 tris) for my upcoming Cel-Shaded Anime JRPG. Shared 256x256 palette texture. Thoughts on the detail level?

Post image
13 Upvotes

Hey everyone! 👋

I’m currently working on environment props for my upcoming Neo-Kyoto inspired Anime JRPG in Unity URP.

Here is a wall-mounted outdoor air conditioner unit I modeled in Blender:

  • Polycount: 2,340 triangles (most going into the 3D grid and fan blades for high graphic detail).
  • Optimization: Backfaces removed, zero heavy decal overlays, and uses 1 shared 256x256 color palette texture for the entire scene to maximize SRP Batching performance.
  • Branding: Custom fictional anime brand (Solasthea Industries) to avoid copyright issues.

Since I’m aiming for a stylized Cel-Shaded look, I opted for real 3D geometry instead of transparent textures or low-res decals to keep the shading sharp under any light angle.

Would love to hear your feedback on the geometry and proportions! Does the detail level feel right for an anime-style city prop? 🚀

Watching my wife solo-develop her dream ramen game (Yatai Talee) has been amazing. So proud to see it in the Steam Cooking Fest!

Hi everyone!

I’m having a massive proud husband moment today. For a long time, I’ve watched my wife pour her heart and soul into solo-developing her dream game, Yatai Talee —a cozy simulation game where you run your own Japanese street food cart (solo or in local couch co-op!).

In the game, you chop fresh ingredients, simmer and assemble custom ramen bowls, crack open Fortune Cookies for roguelite perks at the end of each shift, and upgrade your little street stall (complete with warm lighting and neighborhood cats!).

Today is a huge milestone for her because the game is officially featured in the Steam Cooking Fest! Since she's a solo dev working tirelessly behind the scenes, I wanted to share her work and celebrate how far she's come.

If you love cozy games or cooking sims, checking out the page or adding it to your wishlist would be the biggest morale boost for her:

🍜 Steam Page: https://store.steampowered.com/app/4526070/Yatai_Talee/

Thank you so much for taking a look! I’ll make sure to read all your comments and feedback to her tonight!

AI Disclosure: No generative AI was used in any part of this game. My wife is a 3D artist and game designer who handcrafted all the art, models, and game design herself, and I occasionally helped her out with some of the coding/technical parts.

The handmade art, two-person team, and an unusual mechanic.

Hey everyone!

We're two developers working on our first Steam game, Hellsino. I'm the artist, and all of the game's artwork has been drawn by hand.

The idea started with a question: What if your deck wasn't just your weapon, but also your health?

In Hellsino, you start with 54 cards. The dealer tries to destroy them while you desperately arrange poker hands on a grid to deal damage, build multipliers, and survive.

We recently made some massive changes. We tripled the content, rebuilt the skill tree, improved the visuals, and created this new trailer.

It's been a huge project for just the two of us, but we're getting closer to the game we originally imagined.

Next week we're opening a limited beta, and we'd love to find players who enjoy tactical card games and are willing to help us with balancing.

Here's the Steam page if you're curious:
https://store.steampowered.com/app/4730280/Hellsino_Pokerlike/

And our Discord for beta news and feedback:
https://discord.gg/Zud28fxSNp

Disclosure: AI assistance was used to draft the wording of this Reddit post. The game's artwork is hand-drawn.

After many months of solo dev, my creature evolution roguelite has a free demo you can play right now

Demo:
https://sublimeorange.itch.io/hatched

Hey all. HATCHED is a creature evolution roguelite I've been building on my own.

You don't tame monsters, you are one! You hatch tiny, fight, eat their meat, and every boss you take down lets you choose how your body evolves. There are four elements with type matchups (fire beats grass, and so on), and every run you are a different creature.

The demo is live on itch now! I would love to see what creatures you turn into, and hear all of your feedback!

Happy to answer any questions about the game :)
