I don't like undertale. I don't understand why people like it. And I don't like that I don't understand. Can someone explain why people like the game?

I tried the game twice and bounced off.

the second time I played for a few hours (I think

It's a year ago that I played it last).

I get that it is decently written and people prefer a good game over graphics (I don't like the graphics, but that shouldn't keep me from understanding what it makes it so good)

I was playing and I expected some sort of twist that made me go "wow, now I understand" but that twist never came.

It's a bit funny at times. The "battles" are unique but nothing that got me hooked or something.

It's interesting that you can "talk it out" but that also is just a system that didn't blow me away.

Is there something in the game, that comes later maybe, that I didn't see yet?

Should I give it a third try?

I spent $1400 to build My PermaDeath ARPG and now have over 17.000 players (playable both on Mobile & browser)

A month ago, Aestra: The Last Wish was just the game I wanted to play. I had no idea how to code, but I started building it anyway.

Today, over 17,000 people have played it. And while that number is wild to me, what really gets me is opening the game and seeing the minimap full of players.

People trading in the main city, dueling, finding groups and heading out to do content together. Seeing people actually spend time in this world, meet each other and come back to play more… it’s hard to describe how good that feels.

For anyone who missed my first post, Aestra is a real-time pixel action RPG with permadeath. You pick a class, quest, find gear, explore dungeons and take on raids. And then you get a little too confident, die, and start getting attached to a new character.

The first version cost me around $100 to build over a weekend. Since then, I’ve spent about $1,400 in total expanding it, with 9 classes, levels 1–100, talent trees, professions, world bosses and raids over the course of around 3-4 weeks.

I still have a list of probably 50 things I want to add. But seeing the game alive like this is already something I never really imagined. To everyone who’s played, shared feedback, brought a friend or lost a character to permadeath: thank you ❤️

If you’ve played, I’d love to hear your favorite moment so far. Or the story of how you lost your best character :)

Play Aestra free in your browser or on mobile

After nearly three years of solo development, I've officially relaunched the demo for The Labyrinth!

It's a third-person dark fantasy dungeon crawler focused on exploration, character building, environmental puzzles, and challenging combat.

The new demo features a major visual overhaul, redesigned environments, and a completely reworked opening experience.

If this looks like something you'd enjoy, the demo is free to play on Steam!

I'd love to hear what you think!

AI Disclosure: This game is an independently developed, self-funded project. While all dialogue and content were written entirely by me, select character voices were generated using ElevenLabs.

I’m developing A Long Flight, a flight simulator featuring a Piper PA-18 — looking for playtesters!

Hi everyone! I'm developing a flight simulator called A Long Flight in Unity, and I'm looking for people who would like to test the game and share their feedback.

The game currently features a Piper PA-18 Super Cub, with functional flight controls, a working cockpit, interactive flight instruments, engine sounds, and systems such as throttle, flaps, rudder, and parking brake. You can start the engine, take off, fly around, and practice landing at airports. The game also includes a map, different lighting conditions, and weather effects, including rain on the cockpit windshield.

I'm still developing and improving the game, so it is an early build and may contain bugs or unfinished features. I'd really appreciate feedback on the flight physics, controls, cockpit, graphics, performance, and overall experience.

If you try it, please let me know what works well and what you think should be improved. Thanks for helping an indie developer!

Hey everyone!

We're two developers working on our first Steam game, Hellsino. I'm the artist, and all of the game's artwork has been drawn by hand.

The idea started with a question: What if your deck wasn't just your weapon, but also your health?

In Hellsino, you start with 54 cards. The dealer tries to destroy them while you desperately arrange poker hands on a grid to deal damage, build multipliers, and survive.

We recently made some massive changes. We tripled the content, rebuilt the skill tree, improved the visuals, and created this new trailer.

It's been a huge project for just the two of us, but we're getting closer to the game we originally imagined.

Next week we're opening a limited beta, and we'd love to find players who enjoy tactical card games and are willing to help us with balancing.

Here's the Steam page if you're curious:
https://store.steampowered.com/app/4730280/Hellsino_Pokerlike/

And our Discord for beta news and feedback:

Disclosure: AI assistance was used to draft the wording of this Reddit post. The game's artwork is hand-drawn.

Battlefield has a multi-million-pound budget and they’re using AI-generated characters to promote their game. 😂

Meanwhile, here’s Jackie from HOLD.

Not a single bit of AI used to create him.

Just a scruffy bloke from Northumberland trying to survive the apocalypse.

Budget: about £14 and a packet of crisps. 😂

We finally released our co-op gladiator game - Chained Beasts!

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Been working on this for over 2 years now and I’m really proud of what we’ve put together!

It’s called Chained Beasts. It’s a co-op gladiator roguelike where you get chained to your friends (and other things). Each day you survive the arena you need to heal by drinking potions that leave you with punishing afflictions in effect almost every aspect of the game.

Fight through the pain, unleash your inner beast and kill your masters.

Out now on Steam, Game Pass, PS5 and Switch

Huge thanks to the whole team, everyone has done absolutely incredible work to bring it all together. And thanks to all our playtesters and demo players who’ve given us invaluable feedback on the game.

It’s 4am here, so now I sleep.

🙏
