Hi everyone! I'm hoping to learn how to moderate a Reddit community responsibly. I've requested r/PondicherryGW through r/redditrequest because it was banned for being unmoderated.

I'm new to moderation and don't want to pretend I have experience I don't. I'd appreciate advice on learning Reddit's moderation tools, enforcing Content Policy, handling reports, and keeping an adult community safe and compliant.

What should a beginner learn first? Any practical tips or resources would be appreciated.

I have been part of Industrial goods since childhood, i work in factory so it's very easy for me to understand about machinary of India, I need opinions, cuz I am pretty scared and under confident if community will grow or not, I have failed in past by making communities alone, my concept is always original but I don't know how to grow community alone 😔, thank you.

Your faithfully

Hey mods! I built RepostSniff, a Reddit moderation bot that helps communities detect low-effort reposts and bot spam.

It monitors target subreddits selected by moderators and checks new posts for identical titles that have already appeared in other subreddits, including your sister subs. When a match is found, it can automatically remove the repost.

This can be useful for communities dealing with reposts, spam, karma farming, or repeated content, while reducing some manual moderation work.

If this sounds useful for your community, you can find RepostSniff in the Devvit app directory and install it from there.

Hey mods! I built Post Chain, a Devvit app that helps communities keep multi-part posts connected.

If people in your community regularly post stories, updates, projects, guides, or other content across multiple posts, Post Chain automatically adds previous/next navigation so readers can easily follow the full context.

The original poster controls their own series, so they can add posts, move them between series, or create a new series while keeping the navigation updated.

If this sounds useful for your community, you can find Post Chain in the Devvit app directory and install it from there.

The subreddit is currently in need of more active moderation, and we're looking for people who are willing to moderate as well as actively contribute to the community.

We're looking for moderators who can help with:

• Reviewing posts, comments and reports
• Keeping discussions civil and dealing with spam/toxicity
• Contributing posts, memes, discussions and other relevant content

Previous moderation experience is helpful but not required. We're mainly looking for people who are active, reasonable, interested in cricket/Shubman Gill, and willing to contribute.

Looking for modes for Vedic astrology sub, interested please contact our Mod

My post is removed from the sub that I moderate. It just said it post removed by Reddit filters. And it gave no reasons either. Any idea what went wrong ? Can’t paste my link here either. It’s in r/hyderabadgirlshangout

So due to over regulation of some older city based subs I have decided to develop a new sub with less regulation and more freedom to express, the sub is

r/Calcuttaspeaks

I am looking for partners who can actively write and moderate the posts for the sub and make the sub running

In the initial phase I believe that the sub needs at least 5-6 posts daily for regular growth so People who are interested please contact....

Thanks regards

Hi, I’ve noticed that my subreddit has been getting a lot more fundraiser posts recently. probably 10x the amount we normally see.

What’s making me a little concerned is that many of them seem to follow almost exactly the same pattern. The Modmail is identical, the title/message is essentially the same, and only the details in the body change (e.g. someone has one disease, someone else has another). They also all seem to be attaching Google Drive documents that look genuine.

I’m not trying to imply that these fundraisers are fake or that people shouldn’t be allowed to ask for help. I just find the consistency in how they’re being submitted a bit unusual, especially given how suddenly the volume has increased.

have you noticed this too? How do you handle fundraiser posts like these?

** I hope I don't sound like a jerk**

Hi everyone,

I’m a moderator of r/HotWheelsBhubaneswar, a small local community focused on Hot Wheels collectors in Bhubaneswar.

I have recently noticed something unusual: almost every new post in the subreddit starts receiving downvotes shortly after being posted, even when the posts are normal community content and receive genuine comments.

This has been happening consistently across new posts, which makes me suspect that there may be some form of vote manipulation or coordinated downvoting happening.

I’d like to understand:

• Is there any way for moderators to identify or confirm suspected vote manipulation?
• Are there any mod tools, Reddit reports, or settings that can help with this?
• Is there anything i should configure in AutoMod or subreddit settings to reduce this?
• Has anyone here dealt with a similar situation, particularly in a small/local subreddit?

I'm mainly looking for advice on how to properly investigate and handle the situation through Reddit's moderation tools.

If you've dealt with something similar, I'd really appreciate hearing what worked for you.

Thanks You.
