I'm curious about how nightclub and pub security really works in India, especially in cities like Bangalore, Mumbai, Delhi, Hyderabad and Pune.
I've been trying to understand what happens when a customer creates a serious problem at a club, whether it's a physical fight, harassment, threatening staff or repeated disruptive behaviour.
I'd love to hear from people with actual experience in the industry.
A few questions I'm trying to understand:
- What happens after an incident?
If someone gets into a fight or harasses another customer, is the person simply removed, permanently banned, or reported to the police? Who makes that decision?
- What happens when they visit another club?
If someone is banned from Club A and visits Club B the following weekend, would Club B normally know about the previous incident?
- Do clubs share information about banned guests?
Do independent clubs have any way to communicate these restrictions, or does each venue maintain its own records? Are WhatsApp groups, personal contacts or spreadsheets used for this?
- What software do clubs actually use?
Are there dedicated apps for guest verification, security incidents, banned guests or sharing restrictions between different venues? If you know a product, please mention its name.
- For club owners, managers and bouncers: what is the biggest problem?
Is it identifying repeat troublemakers, verifying their identity, communicating with other venues, managing security staff, or something else entirely?
- For regular clubgoers: have you ever witnessed a situation where better security coordination could have prevented a repeat incident?
I'm especially interested in real experiences rather than guesses. If your current system works well, I'd genuinely like to understand how it works.
I'm doing research to understand the current state of the industry, not promoting a product.
If possible, mention your city and whether you're a customer, bouncer, manager, owner or promoter. Please avoid sharing anyone's private information or naming people accused of misconduct.
Thanks to everyone willing to share their experience. Even a short, honest answer would be helpful.
