I built a Raspberry Pi simulator that works on your browser that you can use to prototype projects before you spend money and time on real hardware!

Hey r/IMadeThis !

I've been working on a side project called PyRasp for myself. However, it has grown to a point where I thought it might be useful to people who are either interested in Python or Raspberry Pis.
Hence, I've been trying to make it a useful space for people who want to explore Python beyond traditional software development and get hands on experience with hardware related projects and keep it fun with a little bit of social elements.

PyRasp is a Raspberry Pi simulator that runs directly in the browser. You can write Python code, experiment with GPIO, and build circuits without needing a physical Raspberry Pi or setting up a local environment.

It's still a work in progress, and I'm opening up the platform for free during beta (which is here to stay for quite a while). I'd love to have more people try it out and let me know what they think. Any feedback is greatly appreciated.

If you're curious and would like to take a look, here's a link:

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask. I would be more than happy to answer!

I made a free site that puts all the coverage of a news story on one page

when big news breaks i used to end up with like 8 tabs open, all saying the same thing in slightly different words. so i built Matrix News. it reads every source on a story and puts it all on one page, with the five Ws, key facts and a link to every source. you can follow a topic, or just type whatever you want and it builds a section for it. free, no account needed to read.

made this promo for it too, it's a 3d scene built in three.js out of the real site.

happy to hear what you think

I wanted to turn some photos into pixel art with a fixed palette and the tools I found were either paid or did not support videos

So I made one where you drop an image, gif or video, pick a palette and a dither, and download the png / gif

Runs in the browser: https://fcidade.itch.io/pixel-art-converter

Introducing PopCalc - A calculator so satisfying to tap, you’ll find excuses to do math

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Most calculator apps look like they haven't changed since 2010, so I built PopCalc.

Every digit you type grows into a bold 3D numeral, and the result morphs into a giant display when you hit equals.

✓ Free calculator with accurate math (0.1 + 0.2 really is 0.3)
✓ No ads. Ever.
✓ No account, fully offline, zero data collected
✓ Free skins, plus an optional one-time Pro (no subscription) for more skins and key sounds

There's also a hidden easter egg in the app. Some answers open doors. Can you find it?
Download it, play with it for a minute, then come back and tell me:

  • How does it feel to type on?
  • Which skin is your favorite?
  • What would you add next?

If you like it, an honest review on Play Store helps a solo dev get found. If you don't, tell me why in the comments. I read every reply and I'm shipping updates fast.

I love swapping mechanical keyboard keycaps, so I made a customizable iPhone keyboard

I enjoy changing the keycaps on my mechanical keyboard, and I wanted that same freedom on my phone. So I built Khamkui, an iPhone keyboard you can customize with your own photos, backgrounds, colors, and key styles.

I also wanted it to be useful beyond its appearance. It has quick replies organized into folders, with variables for text, numbers, and saved choices, so I can reuse a message without editing the whole thing each time.

There’s also on-device translation using Apple’s framework, plus a calculator and a few other tools accessible from the keyboard.

I’m the developer, and this started as something I wanted to use myself. It’s free to download, with optional premium features at US$0.99/month or US$9.99/year.

Would you use a custom keyboard mainly for its appearance, or for tools like quick replies?

Tired of Windows updates breaking your PC? I built a traffic light for them

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

windows updates break stuff way too often (black screens, audio, remote desktop) and the dumb part is microsoft usually lists the problem publicly. nobody checks that before updating

so i made patchlight. it checks every pending update against microsoft's known issues and gives it a green / yellow / red light. red ones get paused automatically and come back once microsoft fixes them. everything else keeps installing

lmk what u think, any feedback is appreciated ;)

I built Wisp, a free WhatsApp desktop app that translates text and voice messages

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I built Wisp while traveling around South America, where I was using WhatsApp to book reservations and chat with locals. I kept screenshotting messages, putting them into ChatGPT, and asking it to translate my replies. It worked, but switching back and forth made conversations slow and awkward.

Wisp puts that translation right inside your WhatsApp chats. It's a free desktop app that translates incoming messages, lets you preview translated replies before sending, and transcribes and translates voice notes.

One thing I really like is being able to choose the language, regional style, and tone, like casual Chilean Spanish. You can also give ChatGPT extra instructions for individual chats, keep it relaxed with a friend, more polite when booking a reservation, or whatever fits the person you’re talking to.

It uses Whisper locally for voice transcription and your existing ChatGPT subscription for translation. No API key or separate API billing to set up. Your usual ChatGPT usage limits apply.

GitHub... a star would be appreciated if you find it useful :D

Download the latest release

The downloads aren’t signed yet, so MacOS or Windows may show a security warning. You can also build from source using the instructions in the repo.

I'm building my own Discord alternative using vibe coding

Thumbnail

Hey everyone.

I started building Nexus because I wanted a communication platform that gives users more freedom without locking so many customization features behind a subscription like Discord Nitro. I wanted things like animated profile pictures and banners and better screen sharing to be more accessible. I also wanted to explore better privacy controls and make account recovery and moderation appeals less frustrating while giving users more control over spam and unwanted messages.

I am building this project using AI assisted development and vibe coding. It has been a challenging learning experience and I am excited to share the progress with you.

Here is what I have completed so far.

Voice calls and screen sharing are implemented. The server system and the main settings interface are in place. User profiles are implemented and most of the backend has been built. I have also implemented a full reporting system where every submitted report is reviewed.

I have also built a custom animated emoji system that lets users add their own emojis and use them in conversations. I want people to have more freedom to express themselves and personalize their experience.

I have also implemented a fully working user search system that allows people to find other users by their username or unique user ID. Every user has a unique username that cannot be claimed or used by anyone else. This makes it easier to find the right person and helps prevent username impersonation.

Here is what I am currently working on.

Voice rooms inside servers are getting close to completion. Encryption is also nearing completion and I am working toward making communication more secure and private.

There are still many things I want to improve and add.

I want to introduce more customization settings and better controls for unwanted messages and spam. One feature I want to add is an optional setting that allows only your friends to send you direct messages. You will be able to turn this option on or off depending on your preferences.

I also want to keep improving account security and recovery and make moderation more transparent. Performance and user experience are important priorities as the project grows.

My long term goal is to make Nexus open source so people can inspect the code and contribute to its development. I want the project to grow with feedback from the community rather than building everything in isolation.

Nexus is still a work in progress and I know there is a lot left to do. I am not claiming it is ready to replace Discord yet. I want to keep building and testing it until it becomes something people genuinely enjoy using.

I would love to hear your thoughts.

What frustrates you the most about Discord. What features would make you consider trying a new communication platform. And what would you like to see in an open source alternative?

If you have any ideas or suggestions for the project or think there is something I should improve or add please let me know. I would really appreciate any feedback or advice as I continue building it.

(Nexus is currently just a temporary name for the project)

I made a local dashboard for exploring Codex and Claude Code session history

I vibe-coded SessionSift, switching between Codex and Claude Code, then personally tested and used it to compare long AI coding sessions with shorter separate ones, understand token usage, and make my own prompts better.

Instead of digging through raw transcripts, you can browse conversations, inspect tool calls and token activity, and compare sessions in one local interface. It supports Codex and Claude Code, optional ChatGPT/Claude export imports, and 10 read-only local MCP tools.

It doesn't need an account or hosted service. Connected MCP clients may still send tool output to their model providers.

It's free for noncommercial use and source-available under PolyForm Noncommercial 1.0.0, not OSI open source. Current native builds are macOS Intel and Linux AMD64; Docker/source instructions are in the README. macOS binaries are unsigned and unnotarized.

Synthetic demo screenshot: https://github.com/LanceSandino/sessionsift/blob/main/docs/screenshots/01-workspace-conversation.webp

Project: https://github.com/LanceSandino/sessionsift

Curious whether the conversation browser, session comparison, or MCP integration is the feature you'd actually use.

I built an app that turns photos of your physical cases into 3D cases you can open

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I'm excited to share that Disc Collection got approved for the App Store!

It's a physical media tracker for YOUR discs. Take 2 photos of a case and it turns into an interactive 3D view you can open up, spin around, and pull the disc out of.

I made this app to celebrate owning your disc. You own it, you should be able to show it off to other collectors anywhere in the world. At the core it's still a collecting tracker — ratings, hours played, finished tracking, wishlist, search, hearting, cases numbered as you add them. The 3D case is just the fun part.

It's free, and I want to keep it that way. I do this as a hobby and it's really fun for me — making it paid or introducing a money factor would ruin the fun factor. I want it to stay community driven, so if you have suggestions, drop them in the contact area in the settings page.

And you can share in the public gallery where other anonymous collectors can see what you have collected — no usernames, no followers.

No accounts, no ads, no tracking.

I built a 15-second check-in wellness app. Would love a few testers

Hi! I'm a PM, and I built a small tool called Reset for days when work leaves you running on empty.

You tap how you feel, how much time you have and your budget, and it suggests one small thing to help, like a 2-minute stretch or texting a friend. Later it asks how it went and learns what actually helps you.

- About 15 seconds, with an optional reminder email at a time you pick

- Works on laptop or phone, nothing to download

- Free, no streaks, stop anytime

It's open to anyone 18+ who works in tech through Nov 10. Link in the comments. I'd love honest feedback in the comments, good or bad!

I built a free alternative to Claude in Chrome for browser automation

Hey everyone!

I built riru, a free alternative to Claude in Chrome that lets you automate pretty much anything in your browser.

Any task you’d normally do manually in your browser, riru can automate it for you.

riru has a free forever plan with a monthly usage allowance. No card required. You only pay if you need more usage.

I’m also giving early adopters higher free usage limits.
Would love your feedback!

I made a gym app called Zenvra

Post image
2 Upvotes

Hey everyone!

I’ve been working on a project called Zenvra, a gym and fitness app that I’ve been developing for a while.

The idea is to create a simple and enjoyable way to keep track of your gym progress and make training feel more engaging. We’ve been working on the app and recently reached a point where we have a demo that people can actually try.

It’s still a work in progress, and there’s a lot we want to improve and add in the future. At this stage, I’m mainly interested in getting honest feedback from people who have never seen the project before.

I’d like to hear what you think about the idea, the design, the overall experience and whether you could actually see yourself using something like this.

The demo is available for anyone who wants to take a look.

Demo link in the comments.

Thanks to anyone who checks it out and gives some feedback!

I made a free PDF tool where you click anywhere and start typing, no fumbling through menus everytime

Filling out flat PDFs (ones without fillable fields) always annoyed me. In most editors, you pick the text tool, draw a box, type, switch tools, and repeat.

So I built TypePDF. You open a PDF, click wherever you want text, and type.

  • Includes shapes and signatures
  • Drag, rotate, snap, and align items
  • Export as an editable or flattened PDF
  • Runs in your browser with no account or install. Your file never leaves your device
  • There's a sample form if you want to try it without your own PDF

https://typepdf.pages.dev/

It's free, and I'd really appreciate feedback on what's missing or annoying. Thank you!

I built Telly: a free extension that picks what to watch across Netflix, Prime, Hulu and more, and explains every pick (no server, all in-browser)

Post image
2 Upvotes

Every night it’s the same thing. I sit down with dinner, open Netflix, scroll for 20 minutes, and my ramen is cold. 🍜

Two things kept bugging me:

  1. Netflix only knows half of what I watch. Half my K-dramas are on Prime, so Netflix is recommending based on half my taste.
  2. It never tells me why. I watch romance constantly. Why am I getting fitness shows?

So I built Telly, a free Chrome extension.

How it works:

  1. Install it and pick the services you use (Netflix, Prime, Hulu, Disney+, Max, Apple TV+, Peacock, Paramount+)
  2. Click Sync once to pull in your Netflix and Prime history. On the others, it learns as you watch.
  3. Click the little Telly button on any of those sites, and you get picks with a reason for each one

Things I’m proud of:

  • Picks come from every service you pay for, not just the one you have open
  • Every pick says why: “same creators as a show you finished”, “you watch a lot of Korean romance”
  • If you quit something early, it counts that as “didn’t like it”
  • Mood search: type “motivational life movies” or “cozy, under 2 hours”
  • A Random button for when you’re too tired to choose
  • Swipe right or left on picks, and it learns from that

Privacy: everything stays in your browser. No account, no sign-up, no server, no tracking.

It’s an early beta, so I’d really appreciate honest feedback, especially if the picks feel off for you. What would make you actually use something like this?

I made a browser extension with five local checks for sensitive details in AI prompts

• Upvotes

A debug log can contain an API key. A draft can contain a client's name. A message you paste into an AI chat can include an email address you did not intend to share.

I'm the developer of AI Prompt Leak Guard at CandidLoom. I made it to add a local check before submitting prompts on supported AI chat sites. It is available for Chrome, Edge and Firefox.

Five features

  1. Warn before sending. The extension checks for recognisable credentials, contact details, payment and identity patterns and explains detected findings.

  2. Replace detected values. Redaction puts placeholders into the prompt so you can review the result before continuing.

  3. Block risky submissions. Protection rules can stop a send until you remove the detected material. Private keys are blocked by default.

  4. Add your own sensitive terms. Client names and project codenames can look like ordinary words, so you can add terms specific to your work.

  5. Notice details in old conversations. When you reopen a conversation, the extension can warn about detectable sensitive content already there. That does not reverse an earlier disclosure or erase data held by the provider.

Privacy and practical limits

Prompt scanning and redaction run in the browser. Prompt text and detected values are not sent to CandidLoom for scanning. Core protection is free, needs no account and includes no product analytics or saved prompt history. Optional paid Plus features include local inspection of readable text and Office uploads.

Pattern matching can miss things or flag harmless content, and site layout changes can break protection. A send check also cannot stop a site's own scripts from reading text entered on its page. Please review what you send.

Product and browser store links: https://candidloom-hub.github.io/ai-prompt-leak-guard/

I'd appreciate feedback from other makers: which of these five checks would help in your workflow, and which warning would feel intrusive? For bug reports, a site name, browser version and made-up example are useful. Never share real keys, private prompts or customer data.

Keret the static photo canvas generator

Post image
• Upvotes

Hey everyone!

I wanted to build a nice little gallery for my photos and host it for free on GitHub Pages, so the whole thing needed to be static and lightweight.

I always liked these infinite canvas style things (matter of fact worked on a similar project in Silverlight around 18 years ago lol) and wanted to build my page as a big wall with “Polaroids”.

Tinkering with it for a few weeks I actually ended up with a CLI app then a complete webUI that runs the whole thing in the browser so still can be hosted on any static storage or locally.

Made it fully open source and MIT if anyone thinks “wow I actually wanted something like this” or similar you know.

My photo page: https://jpg.krisztian.wtf/
The github repo: https://github.com/nomorenamesstudio/keret
The webUI: https://keret.nomorenames.studio/

I’m actively developing it and adding new features as I have time and ideas.

If you like it, or dislike it, or have any idea, of if you don’t have any idea I’m happy to hear.

Cheers,

K

—
P.s.: Full disclosure: AI was/is involved in the development, and it’s clearly stated in the report as well.
