I've been thinking about how Hunt: Showdown has evolved over the years, and I'm genuinely curious how the community feels about it.
What originally made Hunt special to me was its unique atmosphere, the tension of every encounter, the incredible sound design, and the fact that even the simplest weapons could be deadly in the right hands.
But as the game evolves, I sometimes wonder whether Hunt is slowly moving away from what made it stand out in the first place.
That brings me to three questions:
1. Is Hunt losing its original identity?
Do you think Hunt should focus more on its horror atmosphere, slower tactical gameplay, and survival elements? Or is the move toward faster, more competitive PvP a good thing?
2. Has the meta become too important?
One of the things I love about Hunt is that almost any weapon can be effective if you know how to use it.
But do you feel players are becoming too focused on meta-loadouts rather than experimenting with unusual weapons and playstyles?
What's your favorite non-meta loadout that you still swear by?
3. You're in charge of Crytek for one day. What do you change?
Imagine having complete creative control over Hunt for 24 hours.
Would you rebalance weapons, improve matchmaking, bring back older mechanics, introduce new features, or focus on making the atmosphere more terrifying?
You can change ONE major thing. What would it be?
I'm not saying Hunt was perfect in the past, and I'm definitely not against change. Games need to evolve.
But I do think there's an interesting discussion to be had about what Hunt should preserve as it moves forward.
I'm curious to hear from both veteran hunters and newcomers. What makes Hunt special to you, and what would you change to make it even better?
See you in the bayou, hunters. 🤠
