I just think this comic specifically really catches his perspective (which we don't get very often) and it shows it's truly horrific to have a family that doesn't even believe in you let alone love you enough to volunteer for you😭😭😭😭

If he hadn’t been hijacked, they would have had such a passionate reunion…

I love this fandom man

In her Who What Wear cover interview, Whitney Peak opens up about nearly passing on the role of Lenore Dove in The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping because she felt intimidated by the singing requirements. She also discusses the limited opportunities for Black women to play romantic leads, overcoming self-doubt, and learning to take up space in Hollywood.

She reflects on her unconventional start in acting, her experience filming in Germany, her admiration for costar Joseph Zada, and why she has stepped away from social media to protect her peace. Ultimately, the interview focuses on reclaiming her confidence and embracing new opportunities.

Lucy Gray is my second Hunger Games character dress up for this year's spooky season. This is an actually an old costume I put together years ago before The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes movie came out and official movie costumes with it. I still wanted to dress up like Lucy Gray when I first saw Ballad so I just got clothes similar to her rainbow dress based on the trailers we got at the time. Even after the movie and all the costumes were out, I still never got around to buying an actual Lucy Gray costume so I'm just sticking with my homemade one. I also tried to take convincing pictures of me acting like I actually play guitar and know how to hold snakes😂

To be promoting Sunrise on the Reaping :)

Personally, I feel that, had it not been for Snow, the Capitol would've collapsed ages ago, & I feel that deep down, Snow knew that it was inevitable. The Capitol was doomed from the start, Snow just dragged out the good years for as long as possible.

In this scenario, had everything went off without a hitch, Snow, & the last of his generation, the generation that lived through the pain & strife of the Dark Days, the generation that knew the Hunger Games were more than entertainment, but also a punishment & a means for control, would die out.

Seneca's generation, the decadent generation that lived in the comfort of the good years, who knew the Hunger Games as a fun game show with the silly & charismatic characters & personalities of the tributes, who hardly thought about the districts outside the games, would take over & fumble everything.

Best case scenario, the president after Snow would be Panem's James Buchanan. Once the districts realize this I'd say the Capitol would last 5 minutes tops.

minor book and movie spoilers for tbosas and sotr ahead! apologies if this is the wrong flair for this

as we see early in sotr, there’s a capitol propaganda campaign featuring banners showing a picture of Snow with the title “PANEM’S #1 PEACEKEEPER”. iirc, we have also seen still of this being included in the upcoming film.

i’m just curious, in your mind, do you think Snow’s past as a peacekeeper was public knowledge? and the banner was what his propaganda/marketing team thought was a clever nod to his past service, which he used to bolster his credentials when networking himself all the way up to president? or do you think it was intended to more be kind of a fun easter egg/ironic detail for the readers, and that Snow would have done everything possible to erase his past of peacekeeping from public record, so he could both further erase Lucy Gray and distance himself from anything associated with the districts. or do you think something else entirely?

personally i think he wouldn’t be able to help himself but to blab about how serving in the peacekeepers was the honorable thing to do and it gave him so much perspective blah blah blah. i think he would’ve used it in a political campaign to seem superior to his opponents. and he’d milk the parallels to his father’s military service as much as possible.
but i’m curious what others think ! please lmk :)

Such a sad and serious movie but so funny at the end when katniss goes back to the victors village and yells at prim’s cat to leave, throws things at it, and the cat is unfazed af. That’s some orange cat behavior 🤣

Like the title says, I just finished reading Sunrise on the Reaping. I don't know what to do with myself. Haymitch, man. I knew he obviously went through a lot of trauma because of his alcoholism and obvious PTSD being a victor, but that was a lot of death in 3-4 weeks. I'm grateful for the Epilogue, and looking forward to the movie. This book was needed to round out the series I think. I read it straight after TBOSAS and having a compassionate narrator (plus Lenore) was refreshing and much needed atm. The world is dark, and I like and relate to both Haymitch and Lenore a lot.

Also, bonus joy for returning characters, I actually bounced when I saw Mags, Wiress, and Beetee's names!
