I feel like they don’t talk about the concept of a sling enough. Not a slingshot, a sling. David and Goliath style. You can DIY one from your own clothes. You can make it from virtually anything. You can take down someone MUCH bigger and at a distance. A lot of kids I knew growing up had them along with sling shots just for fun.
Yes, they take time to learn to aim, but if my kid had the chance of going in the Games, I’d want them to at least know how to use that. Anyone asks, it’s a kids game. Just like shooting marbles. You hit targets like bottles and whoever hits the most wins. Harmless fun. But really you’re learning how to aim should you ever need it.
It would be an Career Academy skill for the districts that don’t have them disguised as a kid’s game.
In the games, you can use ANYTHING in there. A rock, a piece of metal, anything and get someone.
It might only work for one or two kid’s who successfully use it in the games before they ban it, but still it’s something.
