Hey iedereen!

Ever feel like you have a full closet but absolutely nothing to wear?
My team and I are working on DressME, an app designed to help you get more out of the clothes you already own!

The idea is simple: instead of buying new clothes every time you feel like you have nothing to wear, why not find new ways to style what you already have?

What can you do with DressME?

✨ Mix & Match: Discover new outfit combinations with clothes from your own wardrobe.

♻️** Local Swaps**: Exchange clothes safely through partner hubs across Ghent.

🌱 Shop less, waste less: Save money, declutter your wardrobe, and give your clothes a second life.
We’re trying to make getting dressed a little easier while making fashion more sustainable.

Hi all,

My local AH has been half empty or more for the past few days, anyone notice the same ? Is it because the weekend strikes messed up the delivery schedules ?

Hi,

I'm soon planning to go to Hal 16 on a Thursday around 20h00 with a group of 7. We would like to order some beers and food from both officina raffaelli and Røk.

Can we just walk in and be certain we have a table available? I couldn't find an option to book a central table, only tables that are dedicated to Røk or officina raffaelli. I can imagine Røk would not be happy if we order some pizza while sitting at one of their tables.

Hi all,

I'm looking for a barber that knows how to give men with medium length hair a layered haircut. I'm in the awkward phase and it's driving me nuts. I suppose having this kind of haircut will help me to grow out my hair.

Thanks in advance!

Hey everyone! I’m a 22-year-old student visiting Ghent for a two-week study break and looking to check out the local student nightlife. What are the best student pubs, bars, or clubs to hit up—especially on weeknights? Also, if anyone wants to grab a drink or explore together, feel free to send me a DM! 🍻

Hi my fellow GENT-LE/men/women/X,

I love learning languages, currently speaking 7 languages ( in 3 of them fluent, 1 native speaker, other 3 on A1 - A2 level.)

Language is for me not only about communicating but immersing yourself in the culture it belongs to and discovering new ways of thinking.

Sometimes I go to taal Taal Cafe mundial but it feels off because most of the times you start over with every new person and it's too crowded and distracting to make meaningful conversations.

At the moment I try to advance my A1 Spanish and /or A1 French on my own with some apps. But I am convinced best way to learn is to meet more advanced or ideally native level speakers for a Coffee and just old school talk.

I can offer Dutch / English / German in return.

I know it's 2026, and we are being brainwashed by Ai overlords, but if you still believe in true othantic human to human conversation, leave me a message.

Cheers

Disclaimer : Male, early 40s, but definetly NOT looking for flirting, just looking for real, simple sincere human talking and learning language.

Hey!

Just saw 2 fighter jets speed at low altitude over my neighborhood (De Zuid), wtf is going on? Is there a base near gent or something?

Got up early to catch this from St Michael's Bridge. The three towers in one line (St Nicholas, the Belfry and St Bavo's) and the old guild houses along the Graslei look completely different without the crowds. As an architect, I love how the medieval skyline. Worth the alarm clock.

hi, very random question but is there someone who has crickets size 3 and can sell me some? i’d need them asap :)

Altijd dezelfde liedjes.

Update 5: Het is 18:12.

Hi guys, we went to Kompass Klub this friday to see Yanamaste. Does anyone know how much the prices were? I forgot to take a picture before paying the whole night for my friend who only had cash with them.
I remember water was 3,85. I did pay for vodka redbulls, regular sized beers and half a liter beers. If anyone bought these drinks separately and could check their banking apps for how much they payed, i would really appreciate that!

Need to know if I got ripped off. What is the cost for a bag of Gent Noses from the stall in Korenmarkt?

According to the barman at Trollekelder, at least, when I asked for a towel to dry the benches. I'll spare you the condescending back-and-forth.

The thing is that my friends and I are Belgians (from Liège), and we're perfectly happy to sit on a terrace as soon as the rain stops. I actually thought that was a pretty Belgian thing to do.

Anyway, I ended up drying the benches with their dishcloth.

Do people in Ghent really not sit outside after it rains?

I'm so shocked. I (female) just got pushed by an older man while I was on my bike. It happened at the crossing between Gent and Ledeberg.

We both had a green light at the same time. I had enough space to turn, but he sped up and just pushed me. Then I got angry, he walked away, but his wife kept saying I was wrong.

I'm so shaken :(

Hello!

I was recently approved to stay in Belgium for the next five years, so I'm currently looking around for communities to join long term.

I was always intrested in the ideal of dressmaking and tailoring, a fire that's been ignited due to the recent release of the game "Dressmaker", and saw there was a sort of tailoring event hosted by "VZW Rode Lotus".

I was wanting to see if anyone knows of them, or even better, is apart of this community.

I applied to join, but mostly doing this to help tide over my excitement until I heard back from the event manager.

Also, to practice my Dutch. That is very important too.

I'm just so excited and can't do anything else about it as it's currently the weekend. So I'm looking towards the Gent reddit community.
