Fish In The Wild What fish is this, and what’s wrong with it? (Southern Ontario)
It was alive, but not moving very quickly. Carp?

Pink Salmon back in early September coming in for their run, under predatory pressure from sea lions.
Pretty amazing how many there are.

Most deep sea eels at the very least stay in the water collumn and are benthopelagic or open water (e.g. Gulper eels, cutthroat eels), meanwhile, most shallow water eels (like Morays, Snake eels, Garden eels, Congers etc) live in crevices or holes on the seafloor. What's different about shallow ocean environments that eels just don't do well there? (I'm talking Anguilliformes/Saccopharyngiformes)

found this big lump in southampton on long island (ny)! ocean sunfish have been seen occasionally out here (normally offshore) and the coloration/pattern definitely looks like one. the size also matches up, as it was maybe around a foot long, but the spine-like thingies are puzzling me lol as i’ve never seen them on pics of molas online (i’ve unfortunately never seen an alive one irl :( ). i have no clue what part of the body it could be!!! the hole kinda looks like an operculum with a ripped off pectoral fin but i’m definitely not a mola mola expert 🤷🏼♀️ i was way too scared to flip it over as the stench was (obviously) atrocious! either way a very cool sighting :)

One of a handful of neon tetras I’ve been doing lately. I’m working on building up a whole school of them, amongst other species as well. I just recently finished miniaturizing my salmon design and will add a couple of them to my frame to be finished off in the upcoming weeks
After that, it sounds like I’ll be doing a fun series of puffer fish in different frames that come together to show an animation of it puffing it
Made with punch needle embroidery, mostly made up of yarn

Hi guys. I got 3 little shubunkins in the spring and this will be my first autumn/ winter and I’m not sure what sort of aerator or pump I need. At the moment I have a double ended bubbler and a little fountain, but both are solar powered and today was really gloomy and they just weren’t working.
The pond is small. Maybe about a foot deep and about 80cm long. What should I get?
(FYI this photo was before the fish)
