Question Christmas decor at WEM early Nov
Hello everyone, my family and I are planning to visit Edmonton from Nov 8-11. Just wondering if WEM would be already decorated for Christmas during that time?

You have been detouring the 916 bus for nothing. Epcor canceled that project on like Oct 3rd , two days before Oct 5th - Nov 2nd ets detour.
Now I understand some lag time, maybe a week , but literally this is week 2 of this and this morning I saw one driver go straight and I saw another take the detour.
I genuinely dont know which answer is correct anymore and I'm second guessing the competence of all companies involved who cant even talk to each other / keep tabs on projects or inform their employees.
I dont have time to figure out who to file a complaint so a snark reddit post will have to do for now.
If someone can send me the official email I can complain too - that would be great thank you!
Definitely Moreso on ets than epcor imo

I’m currently going through a separation/divorce and looking for recommendations for a Certified Divorce Financial Analyst (CDFA) in Edmonton.
Our financial situation is a bit complicated. We have a matrimonial home, a personally owned rental property, and several rental properties held under a corporation where my soon-to-be ex-husband and I are both directors.
I’m hoping to find someone experienced with complex asset division, corporate holdings, real estate, debt, and the tax implications of dividing these assets during divorce.
Ideally, I’d like someone who can help us evaluate different scenarios and determine the most financially sensible way to separate our assets without making rushed decisions.
If you’ve worked with a CDFA in Edmonton and had a good experience, I’d really appreciate your recommendations.
Thank you.

First in was AC7040, Air Canada Jetz fin 232, carrying the Edmonton Oilers, OEG support staff, and media.
The next was the Utah Mammoth on DAL8953. Both flights came in on the OILRS 2 approach.
YEG reopened the runway early on Wednesday due to the 45kt+ crosswind on runway 02/20 (the north one).
NHL charter flights tracked here: https://nhlflights.ca/

Okay, so I’m about to sound a little ignorant here but I’ve got an employee who needs to take some time to pray daily. He washes up nicely and lays down a clean shirt to pray . Is there a mat that I can buy for my office without knowing his religion? I wanna have it available to be respectful but I don’t want to get it wrong and make it weird, cause he’d never tell me .

Hey everyone! I was wondering if anyone has hired a pizza truck to cater their event? If so, who did you hire and what was the approximate price? Do you recommend them?
I am hoping to hire one for my intimate home event next year, however because the event is so far in advance a couple companies I reached out to are unable to confirm availability / pricing but I’d like to start saving now if I have a ballpark number of cost!
Thanks.

What’s the best place in Edmonton to get dry ramen noodles? I’m not taking T&T or other grocery stores. I’m talking like a ramen shop that sells dry noodles to make at home.

In October 2026, police received a report of a 2022 sexual assault of a child at Shining Stars day home, a private, unlicensed day home in the area of 50 Street and 101 Avenue. The home is not affiliated with any other Edmonton childcare facilities of the same name.
On Wednesday, Oct. 14, 2026, Michael Doucette, 54, was arrested and charged with sexual assault, sexual interference and invitation to sexual touching in relation to the 2022 incident. Doucette resided at the home and assisted with childcare duties.

Hi everyone,
I'm hoping someone in Edmonton might be able to help me find dashcam footage of a vehicle collision.
The accident occurred on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, at approximately 7:15 PM, on Terwillegar Drive NW near 170 Street SW / Windermere Boulevard SW, in a construction zone.
I've attached a map showing the approximate location of the collision, circled in red.
Vehicles involved:
Unfortunately, my dashcam failed to record the accident.
I'm offering a $500 reward for genuine dashcam footage that clearly shows the collision, regardless of which driver was at fault.
If you were driving through this area between 7:00 PM and 7:30 PM on October 6, I would greatly appreciate it if you could check your dashcam recordings.
Even if your footage doesn't show the actual collision, recordings of the traffic lanes, construction setup, or either vehicle shortly before or after the accident may still be helpful.
I'm specifically looking for video footage rather than eyewitness accounts.
If you have relevant footage, please send me a private message. Please preserve the original, unedited recording, including its timestamp if available.
Police File Number: 2627015
I know it's a long shot, especially since some time has passed, but I would sincerely appreciate any help.
Thank you, Edmonton!

I thought: "This would be so much more fun if we did the wave, spontaneously."
Then I thought: "Why am I too shy to get this party started?"
Then I asked the people in front of me: " I'm doing an impromptu survey. Would you be inclined to do the wave if doing the wave became a thing in our city, which would necessitate people who are like you but not necessarily you to make doing the wave a thing?"
They said no, but then laughed... which I think means (if you really want to get down to it) that they *would* do the wave if it became a thing.
So, come on, Edmonton! Let's make it a thing.
Some basic rules: this is not for recording, it's very much for being, sans camera. Of course, you may go to your socials afterward to tell people that you were part of a spontaneous wave... but if anyone there is recording it then they are not doing the wave and they are therefore not a true Waver because a true Waver wouldn't bring a phone to a Wave.
I think this needs a little bit of organic seeding first in the form of a rumour that you've heard that it's about to become a thing.
"Hey Doris, did you hear that rumor about how soon people in Edmonton are going to start doing the wave while they wait in line?"
"No, [your name here]. Tell me more..."
Then you tell Doris the truth. Now Doris is a Waver, and she knows that she must spread the rumour.
Let's give that a month to percolate and see where we all are. If this is starting to build then maybe we can think about having our first real Wave of before the holidays. We can use this thread to check in.
We can also make homemade buttons or something so we'll know if there's a critical mass to really get this started. Slogan ideas? I'll seed the pile: "Yeah, I Wave. So what?"
Who's in?

Around late January/early February I was placed in a mental health ward. I was suffering extreme psychosis after I stopped taking my medication.
During that time, my two cats of 7 years, Smoke and Ember were taken to the SPCA as I had nobody to watch them.
When released from the ward, there was an eviction notice on my door. I was officially homeless. My phone with all the pictures of my cats was also stolen while I was in the ward. These two pictures were all I could find from online posting.
As the SPCA does not hold animals for long, when I spoke with them it was stated that they likely ended up at an adoption agency.
It has been many months of working to get a home again. I am thinking of putting out posters to see if anyone has adopted cats that match their appearance and personalities. I would even pay other people to help with posters in their areas. I am so desperate to see them again even though I know I likely never will. They are everything to me as I am an extremely solitary person and relied on them entirely for emotional comfort.
Smoke, the grey cat is extremely friendly and will come to you immediately when called. He loves lots of attention.
Ember, the Tabby, has an orange spot on her head and is very cuddly especially at bed time. She has more energy and listens most of the time when called for. She does not like other cats.
If you could please share this post on your Facebook or anywhere else I would be so grateful.
Thank you for reading this. I know it's desperation but I can't sleep at night and have effectively lost the will to live without them.
Here is a poster I made https://imgur.com/a/OpkXRx1

Fellow olive lovers, I usually make them at home, but here in the city, where do you find the most chilled, the dirtiest, the best-served Martini out there?
I’m talking one so iced you can skate on it, minimum of 3 olives.
Would love some recommendations for the weekend, thank you!

10 minutes in and out. Painless but also quite pointless. Please vote.

If you’ve been in the job search market recently, how were you able to finally find a job? I’ve applied online for the past month, called stores, walked in and handed my resume, and I’ve had no luck. I’ve even asked friends. I feel like this is unnecessarily difficult. What else can I possibly do?

In the past week, I met with two home owners who were completely unaware that you could get a smaller version of the black curbside garbage bin, for free, and save $5/month on your waste fees as well. So ... here's a post for others that may not know.
Instead of the standard 240l cart that was delivered, you can downsize to a 120l cart (the same size as the green bin). You fill in the request online (link below) and they will deliver your new bin to you and take away your old bin. Your waste fees will go down by $5 each month.
